How fast they normally move depends on the breed, but when striking to feed they move in a heartbeat. Usually you can see them sneaking up on the prey and then striking... other times they just sit their patiently and strike when the rat's guard is down. Winry (Pockets' ball python) strikes so fast she barely waits for the rat to land in the box.

They are constrictor snakes, so they bite and then coil in a fluid motion, crushing the prey. Generally if what they have attacked is larger than them you can pry them off before they kill it. Our friend Ken has a little python just bigger than Jormangand than nearly killed his cat (who thought it would be fun to break into the snake tank and hassle the poor thing). He was able to pry the snake off since the cat was larger than it, and the cat was fine... doesn't mess with the snake anymore though. That is the main problem, the cat/dog can kill the snake or the snake can kill them, which is why you keep them apart and make sure that they cannot come in contact with each other. If each animal is friendly it isn't so bad... Winry gets along with Pockets' cats since the cats do not act threateningly towards her.

If you don't want to worry about snakes attacking your other pets out of fear/confusion, get a smaller snake like a Garter, a Ringneck, or a Southeastern Crowned Snake.

Would you say there are snakes that just aren't friendly? Or is it a snake-to-snake thing?

This is the official gunbound at the moment, here is the link to the website. There are a lot more people than Gunbound Classic, things have been somewhat balanced out, and the community isn't that bad, occasionally.

and yes, they usually want to be left alone...but they will only act up in response to certain stimuli (food, enemy and anyone near their food) so it is usually pretty easy to tell whats bugging them

Now, personally I don't care since I grew tired of official GB ages ago. But I assume there's someone out there who would want a link.

Also, I use Nak, Grub, Sate, and Bigfoot. Bigfoot can be surprisingly fun when Thor's active, you have a Dual, and you can shotgun the enemy. On official I used Aduka sometimes, but it got pretty badly nerfed on Gunbound Classic.

Ah, but you see, lightning sucks on Gunbound Classic. And most of my shots are at full power and above 70 degrees. And lightning has the higest damage potential, as far as I know. Nak is also a favorite of mine, because unlike boomer, it's movement makes sense. I like mage a lot more than a sate, because the main difference is that better damage:delay and except for the odd map, mage is more useful.

You can see what you want, but that doesn't mean it's consistant with reality. The camera is free falling, so even something accelerating at -5ms^-2 would look like it's going up.
