~Name: Strisus

~Age: 21

~Nationality: Babylonian

~Patron Deity: Palius, God of Death

~Weapons: A large hammer, called Ormoeus, that gets more powerful the more it kills. He also weils a bolas, kept on his right hip.

~Appearance: Strisus is a large man, standing nearly eleven feet tall, with a four foot shoulder span. He has a bushy red beard and a shaved head. His left eye is glossy, and has a scar across it, from his days in the Duelist Pit. He wears leather armor, although it is quite useless, and a sweeping red cloak. He also has a helmet, with a T for the eyes and mouth, and a blood red plume.

~History: Strisus was captured from his home in Babylon at the age of 6 in a Egyptian attack. He was sent to the Duelist Pit, where he was trained in combat, to fight in many challenges, for the audiences amusement. Surprisingly, he survived to the age of 19, when he was enlisted in the military as a slave. He was forced to use mediocre armor, and flimsy weapons that often broke in combat. At one point, some young soldiers thought it would be funny to abandon him in the desert. He wandered for days, until he was near death. At this point he was visited by Palius, the Babylonian god of death, who told him of his destiny. Palius gave him Ormoeus, and guided him to the Egyptian capital. There, he confronted the Pharaoh, and was made a free man. He reenlisted, and is now the supreme commander for the Egyptian army.

~Powers: Strisus is massive in size and strength. He is also immune to most blunt attacks, if they manage to reach him. He can also communicate with lost souls, through contact with Palius, although he must be in a near death situation to do this.

~Name: Theul

~Age: Unknown

~Nationality: Egyptian

~Patron Deity: Anubis, god of death

~Weapons: A craggily staff, which entwines around a glowing purple stone embedded on the top.

~Appearance: A stooped old man, Theul wears simple brown robes. He wears his thick black hair slicked back.

~History: Not much of his history is known, but he has been an advisor to the royal family for generations.

~Powers: Theul has many powers, including the preservation of his life, all of which stem from his staff.

((Come on, let's get this RP finished up.))

The group jumped as footsteps were heard behind them. Henry limped down the stairs, leaning on the bannister.

Alden had been wandering around for some time, since he had escaped from Josiah cell, and had yet to see anyone since then.

He could hear music coming from a lit room nearby. He crept in, but the room was unoccupied. There was a lush recliner facing a blazing fireplace. He reached for the record player on the end table next to the recliner, but decided to leave everything as it had been.

He turned to leave the room when he noticed something over the mantle. He approached it and picked up the large harpoon gun. There was a rope coiled around the barrel, and a second harpoon attached to the side.

This could be useful, since Josiah had destroyed his gun. He loaded the first harpoon and set out to find his opponent.

Something relevant to the topic which is irrelevant to the thread.

http://www.syfyportal.com/news423763.html

Space … the final frontier … .
There was once a time when these words carried so much weight that they would have people humming the opening notes to the Star Trek theme with utter delight.

But no more. After five spin-offs and a collection of movies, Star Trek came to an end with the cancellation of "Enterprise." And for all intents and purposes, it looked like the franchise was going to stay confined to the realm of re-runs and digitally re-mastered DVD releases where it belonged.

That is until good old J.J. Abrams arrived on the scene, announcing that not only was their still a pulse in the aging science-fiction giant, but also that it would be back for another big screen outing with himself behind the director's seat. The very announcement that Star Trek would be back gave Trek fanboys everywhere goosebumps, giving them another reason to separate their fingers and utter the words, "Live long and prosper."

Now here is a controversial thought -- wouldn't it be better if he left the franchise to die with whatever dignity it has left? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching the series as much as the next Trekker and "Deep Space Nine" still ranks highly among my favorite science-fiction series of all time, however with "Voyager" being the mixed bag as it was and "Enterprise" struggling just to maintain its audience, does the world really need another Star Trek outing? Wouldn’t the capital being sunk into the movie project be better spent in the pockets of Joss Whedon, continuing the infinitely cooler tales of Malcolm Reynolds and his intrepid crew aboard the Serenity? Because let's face it, in just 15 episodes, "Firefly" had 10 times the entertainment value of all five Star Trek series combined.

This idea has a particular appeal especially considering the overall premise of the feature -- Capt. Kirk at school. The series is going to be dropped down to Earth to the point where we might be seeing a little bit of melodrama among the classes as the legendary starship captain struggles to maintain his grades at Starfleet Academy whilst simultaneously facing off against the Klingons or some other alien threat.

One thing to remember, though, is that Abrams is a very talented and creative man with popular credits behind his name such as "Alias" and "Lost." Just last year, he pulled a rabbit out of a hat when he took the reins for the third installment in the Mission Impossible movie series. With 'MI:3," not only did he bring more style, savvy and thrills to that one film than the other two combined, but he was also able to bring a more compassionate and intimate side to the Ethan Hunt character than his predecessors. And that was a good thing.

So if anyone is going to bring back Star Trek for a new age, it’s Abrams. And he should do especially well in today's climate where re-makes and re-imaginations are the in-thing. "Battlestar Galactica," although ending next season, is perhaps one of the most innovative series ever created, and it certainly has re-defined the way sci-fi stories should be told as far as the SciFi Channel is concerned. If it wasn’t for that show, we may not have "Flash Gordon" and "Bionic Woman" to look forward to this year.

So maybe there is some room for another Star Trek, and maybe Abrams can re-invent the wheel.

Yeah, Galactus has never been defeated, only driven away.

EDIT: Actually, they did sort of defeat him once:

Galactus recently discovered he was "starving" to death due to an addiction to the life forces of living beings which offer no sustenance, and was apparently killed when the Silver Surfer turned Galactus' own Elemental Converter against him. As Galactus dies he warns that his death will allow a great evil to surface. After his death, Galactus' remains took the form of a star.[12]
That great evil that Galactus spoke of emerged a year later in the form of the Biblical demon Abraxas, the universal embodiment of destruction and the antithesis of Eternity. The Fantastic Four discover that most of the energy that Galactus took from planets was devoted to keeping Abraxas imprisoned as, if released, the entity will eventually destroy the entire multiverse.[13] Franklin Richards pools his Celestial-level power with that of his sister Valeria Von Doom and reconstitutes Galactus, but the siblings permanently burn out their powers in doing so. The newly reformed Galactus reclaims the Ultimate Nullifier from Abraxas, and Reed Richards uses it to remake the multiverse into a version in which Abraxas never escapes. The Ultimate Nullifier is revealed to be an aspect of Galactus himself.[14]
Soon after however, Reed Richards designs a weapon with the express purpose of stripping Galactus of the Power Cosmic. The creation of the device is made possible with help from Quasar and Johnny Storm, who is cosmically aware at this time. The weapon succeeds in separating Galactus into his two core components - Galan and the Power Cosmic. Galan then exiles himself in another dimension, hoping that this act will prevent the Power Cosmic from finding him.[15] The ruse fails, however, as a fully reformed Galactus encounters the alien warrior Beta Ray Bill soon after.[16] The manner in which the Power Cosmic finds Galan has not been revealed.

No, I can continue this during school. Hell, I started this during school. Actually, as many of you know, I have been long planning to turn WotS into a novel. Well, the 3 Day Novel Contest is coming up, and I want to try and do WotS for it.

Unless anyone objects to their work being used. Full credit will be given to anyone whose characters I use, and if you say no, I'll just work around not having you in the novel.

Yeah, the best thing is to talk about it, other wise it will hang over the relationship the entire time. Hopefully you're friend will see that you two are happy together, and will learn to accept it. Or it could make him jealous, but let's not think negatively.

P.S. I did the layout.

Eric nodded to Icav, and gestured to one of the two accompanying soldiers,

"Get him, will you?" He said, referring to Brad.

Henry reached the end of the stairs as Leon made his comment. He stormed up to the warrior.

"I will not have my daughter referred to in that way, boy."

Isha stood facing Watcher.

"So, I suppose you want me to take you back."

Isha nodded in response.

"A lot has happened since I took you from your world. Are you ready?"

"I am always ready, it's my job."

He grinned,

"Then simply step through here," he gestured towards the large double doors beside them, "and I will do the rest."

Isha turned, and threw open the doors. The next think she knew she was standing in the distinguishable stark whiteness of a Marinae living quarters. Edgar was sitting in the bed alcove, hunched over, looking at the floor.

((Will someone please take these two?))

Bobby stood.

"I don't think there are any towns here. I've been flying for who knows how long, and I've seen nothing but landscape. Then again, I wouldn't put it out of the question, because nothing seems to stay the same here for long."

He turned towards Kyle,

"And I'd rather listen to the doll than you."
