I like Propel Fitness Water, but I'd say I'm more addicted to the Naked drinks. However, I'm not near any facilities at midnight that would sell them that are still open.

Does that mean we'll be buying a case of Propel before we leave for Con?

[ EDITED FOR CONTENT ]

So, greater throughput allow you to upgrade your services to more clients, and are you able to provide the hosting power, for say, a high-demand e-commerce outfit?

I wouldn't need that. But, hosting for my web video content might be nice. In the future, of course.

Posted on 06-21-06 04:18 PM, in TDK invents and produces 200GB Blu-Ray Disc. Link
Originally posted by theNet

"TDK, one of the leaders in optical discs manufacturing, has presented all the details regarding its latest 200GB Blu-ray disc (BD), the world’s highest optical disc capacity.

It seems that TDK has increased the capacity of all six disc layers by 32%, the layers having 33GB apiece, from the initial 25GB capability.

Apparently, the war featuring HD DVD standard and Blu-ray media was won by the latter, as it is almost impossible to increase HD DVD layers capacity
from 50 GB to more than 200 GB using new media materials."

Yes, TDK has proposed and actually created the 200GB optical disk. While the laser burns the disc at a temp of 650-ish degrees, it creates microscopic bubbles in the layers of the disc. It has been determined that optical data can be stored in these bubbles, thereby maximizing room on a disc up to 200GB of space. Imagine backing up your entire hard drive to a single disc.

However, it is unsure if the current Blu-ray drives will be able to read or write such large media, and research is being made to update current drives. The Blu-ray drives are currently available in Japan.

We had that, but it is remotely illegal and subject to a lawsuit filed by the RIAA to both Xeo and ErkDog, so it was shut down.

I have whatever it says I have, and I don't really care. I'm sure the majority of my posts are videos from YouTube, half of which are my videos from YouTube. The rest are probably stories and rants.

Posted on 06-21-06 04:29 PM, in Wireless Mouse = Death Link
I change my wireless mouse's batteries twice a year. Really. I don't know why you guys are having trouble with them.

It's a Logitech something or other, but there is no on/off switch for it. It's just always on, like my laptop. But, usage is what drains batteries.

If you're a hardcore gamer, get a corded mouse. If you're a casual user (like me, I do game but not on PC) then wireless is fine because the mouse isn't being used all the time.

Also, like a cell phone, if the mouse has to amp its power to locate the receiver's signal, it's gonna drain the battery faster. Other than that, I've never had power issues with my mouse. Signal issues, yes, but that's because I have a myriad of wireless devices.

I only liked Hockey because I worked for the company that owned the Mighty Ducks, and we got discount tickets. But, I'll watch anything without affiliation. I mean, they are just paid to do their thing, and more than likely, do not care about their fans. So, I don't care abou them. Just a sport. Let it go...

You can't merge Story and Art. They aren't the same thing. Art specialized in the visual aspect of design and such. Story is still visual, but it's written art rather than drawing, animation, video, etc. I don't think they should be merged.

While similar, it doesn't make sense to merge them. Sure they're slow, but that because they depend on creative processes, which are also slow.

There's just something about Evolution I don't like. And, I think it's the teeny-bopper drama they're trying to introduce. I prefer the Original only because I used to watch it all the time, and when I got into the comics, it helped make more sense of the comics.

I don't really know, I guess I just liked the more grown up feel of the old than the new.

Welcome, stay off my lawn, post much and make fun of Shaddow. We all do anyway, even if its not directly at him.

I sit on my butt a lot. At school, at home, at work. I also use my butt for activities I'd rather not mention aside from the norm.

But, no, it doesn't hurt right now. Usually, my legs end up hurting a lot after sitting for long periods of time, or my back hurts from long periods. But, our chairs at work, school, and home are pretty comfortable, so I can't complain.

Maybe try a better chair? If you have IKEA, they have great, inexpensive chairs.

Posted on 06-22-06 06:53 PM, in Do you workout? Link
When I was in high school, or the age we refer to as Before Jack, I used to walk everywhere. It was awesome exercise, and I could make the 1 mile walk to school in just under five minutes. Built up my calves, I apparently have awesome legs. Meh.

Then, in the period known as During Jack, I stopped walking as much. I only walk now if its a few miles or if gas prices are high. And, to supplement, I do a little Tai Chi, Yoga, and workout with my digital personal trainer Maya from Yourself!Fitness.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time lately, and would like to start tennis again, but I need a competent partner for a good workout. I'm in shape, but that shape is round.

Saw it on YouTube, long ago. And, no, it didn't change my life.

It did, however, help me remember that the deaths of all those people helped give me job security for a year. I know it's harsh and sad, but it was the truth. Without 9/11, I would not have become a Fed.

I prefer the vid about the Pentagon incident.

I am grossed out by girlie parts. Boobs and vagina. Eww.

Search YouTube for "Attack of the Boobies", and you'll find one example of my aversion.

But, being gay, I am affected by the grossing out of female anatomy. I figured out I am gay when the thought of my anything being near that grossed me out. *shudders*

Posted on 06-22-06 07:09 PM, in Merge General Art and Story Realm Link
I reiterate:

General Art and Story just don't belong together.

Sure, they're both forms of art, but one is written and the other is visual. They don't belong together. It's like having an art gallery merge with a bookstore...completely. It'd just be weird.

Story houses everything that's considered a written work of art, such as the short sotries, poetry, novels, etc.

General Art is just the bin for everything visual, such as art, drawings, animations, video, collages, etc.

It would make things less cluttered, it just make things more confusing. One would not be able to tell if something is a story or art if they were both in the same forum. I know the decision to merge might come from people whom aren't writers or whom aren't artists, or whom aren't both because of a necessity to "unclutter" the board, but it just doesn't make sense to merge to different, but similar mediums.

I vote no. I don't even use the main page, I use the New Posts link. Is it that troublesome to just scroll down half a page or so? Geez, lazy people. I may not update frequently in either story or art, but that's because those forums are based on the creative process...and that takes time to do. They're not gonna be as active as the other forums because people are creating things that they remotely care about.

DON'T MERGE!!

You haven't been here long enough.

And, if you're going on post count and activity (as if that mattered much), then merging them would sound great. But, that would greatly complicate things. Much for the same reason that would we be able to distinguish one form or art from another, as it would be because it would end up ... trailing off because I forgot my comparison thought.

Anyway, it's still a bad idea. It wouldn't simplify things, it would just end up complicating both sides. It's like merging a crate of apples with a crate of oranges. Yes, they're both fruit, but different types of fruit. Those looking for oranges would have to sift through the apples and vice versa. It's just easier to keep them separate, even if they aren't be utilized as much as you'd like.
