| I feel your pain if only you've suffered through a two-hour plane trip with thirteen of your cousins and their families. At night. With them running up and down the aisles while people are trying to sleep.
Then, having to herd the lot of them while the parentals fail at acquiring the luggage and clearing customs. I have to help with everything. Keeping them in line while we acquire several taxis. One taxi entirely for the luggage and one parent alone. Two minivans, three sedans, a luggage minivan, two trucks, and a smaller car later, we're on the road...for six hours. I switched with the parent watching our luggage minivan, about two hours into the trip after having spent it in the teenage minivan. I slept for the remaining four hours. |

I mean, only ignorantly stupid people think that because one is gay or bi, we're constantly out to hit on people. What? Just because you're straight, you're not out to hit on people either? Several of my bestest friends are straight and guys, and they have no problem around me because I'm not the flamboyant, dance around them, all hugs and kisses, gay man. I'm just one of the guys...that happens to like other guys. I don't hit on them (cuz they're my friends, and that's ew...) and I don't talk about other guys in front of them. I respect their wishes. And, we're all still cool. One's in Iraq, the other is my shooting and government buddy. Besides, I'm taken as it is...and I'm not even thinking about sex all day long. The average age of the TSA man is 25 years. He is a short-haired, pudgy kid who, under normal circumstances, is considered by society to be a slob. Not yet dry behind the ears, is old enough to buy a beer, yet old enough to stand around for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's; but he has collected unemployment at some point. He's not a recent High School graduate; he was probably a below average student, pursued some form of drugs, drives a four-year-old compact, and has a steady girlfriend that he fucks every night, or swears at for calling him at early morning hours. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing or trance. He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is lifting your heavy bags from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can verific an ETD in 30 seconds and push random buttons on it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of an X-ray machine or ETD and use either one effectively if he must. He stands around or sits and can take an extended break like a professional. He can stand until he is told to sit or sit until he is told to stand. He obeys orders eventually and with much hesitation, but he is without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient, sometimes. He has four sets of uniforms: he wears one for three days, keeps the others hanging around, and washes the last one. He keeps his sodas full and his feet aching. He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his table. He can cook his own meals in the microwave, soil his own clothes, and report his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll laugh; if you're hungry, he'll eat in front of you, then laugh. He'll even hog chairs from you in the midst of peak time when you're dead tired. He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life--or make you late for a flight--because that is his job. He will often do half the work of a civilian, draw double the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more stupid people and heavy bags than he should have in his short lifetime. He has stood atop mountains of huge cargo, and helped to delay each of them. He has laughed in public and in private, for friends who have fallen down the stairs and is unashamed. He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body when his cell phone goes off, while tempering the burning desire to "square away" those around him who haven't bothered to read, pack lighter, or even stop asking stupid questions. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful and make all their flights on time. Just as did his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our flight freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 4 years. He has asked much in return, including a taser, a gun, and our understanding. Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his standing around. And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to the Airport when their scheduling calls them to do so. As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot...A short lull, a little fan and a little game of solitaire on the x-ray monitors. Prayer wheel for our TSA... please don't break it. Please send this on after a short donation for pizza. Prayer Wheel "Idiots, hold our TSA in your loving tentacles. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen." | I was reading the description again, and decided I take up the offer.
I first learned to ride a bike the hard way: getting on and falling off. I was about five or six or eight years old, and found that I was really accident prone. And, we lived on a steep grade hill in Montebello, the rich side near the Galleria. Day two into my learning, and I sprained my ankle getting on my bike. Isn't that pathetic. Years later, I can ride a bike, but I thought it was utterly hopeless if the act of getting on my bike caused me to sprain my ankle. It was fun, though, and I'm glad that I stuck it out. What was your bike riding experience? |

The Autobiographical Account of Lee Almodovar As long as I can remember, I've wanted to be someone powerful in this world. When I was younger, I'd spend hour in front of the mirror practicing my starter screen smile. Remember watching the old TV shows where each character would be doing something, then catch the camera and smile interrupting their actions? Well, that's what I'd be doing. Then, the facination with computers followed suit. My dad, being the nurturing one (sarcasm), purchased an old typewriter so that I could start practicing my touch typing. Years later, I'm in the triple digits as far as speed is concerned. I figured out that I was gay around the age of five. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I just knew that I couldn't watch boxing because it made my penis "happy". I used to spend hours watching baseball with my dad because he forced me to do so. I hated baseball. In turn, I hated my dad.

| It took me three days, but I figured out that I can do this now with the new Dell laptop (that I have yet to deliver to Rosy), a few parts from RadioShack, inexpensive lights from the 99 cents store, and time and energy.
Don't think I'd use Trans-Siberian Orchestra though. Maybe, but not. I was thinking more of setting it to theme of Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari songs. That should piss off my neighbor. Alas, it's a project for next year. |
