In college, it's no longer a question of whether you passed or failed school, but if you passed or failed all of your classes. I dropped all of mine late in the semester, so technically I passed as well as failed. But, since I'm transferring to ITT Tech, we'll just have to see about that.

My hair doesn't work since I didn't want to style it that way, and thanks for the hinting. It does have to be on the other side, and it does have to be slightly over my ear. And, I do need the haircut, but since I just got it cut and highlighted, I'm not going to mess with it just yet. Comic Con is still a while away so I've got the time.

Well, very good. I have to get an oil change for Jack, but Wal-Mart is as good as he gets right now. I can never make his appointments with the usual mechanic. And, Wal-Mart always brings the temptation of buying things that I don't need.

Didn't like Jiffy Lube the last time I had Jack serviced, but good job nonetheless. Usually, most places don't provide a raise until after six months to a year. Disneyland was about a year.

But from unemployment, I'm making about $600 every two weeks doing just the usual job hunt and going to school. Meh.

At least you don't blatantly confuse people like some other people on this board...**Looks at Beo**.

No, I figure I'll get whatever I put in...so, much like LBCC, if I focus on this because I want that job with the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency), then I'll focus on getting my degree. Besides, it's Criminal Justice. This should come easily to me.

The SubTrain ride was as smooth as it always had been gliding through the tunnel at speeds of over 150 miles per hour towards the San Angeles Mass Transit Station A--his final destination at least until tomorrow. He had placed a call to his contact while on the train, and hoped that he could catch that acquaintance before they left their premises.

"You have a disc for me," the subtle gentle voice of Server One filled his earpiece, "and you haven't much time for me to analyze it. Your once partner, now adversary, is on his way to intercept you."

"I know that," he huffed into the earpiece, "but I was hoping you could do something about that."

"Server One is all-knowing, all-powerful, yet powerless and oblivious."

He paused for a moment staring into the darkness of the tunnel, "Alright." He disconnected and stood to make his way to the doors. The SubTrain would arrive in a few more moments, and he had to secure transportation. If only the tunnel allowed a view into the traffic tunnels below the SubTrain tunnels; then he could monitor the presence of Lee's Marauder.

San Angeles sat in twilight as the suns dropped on the horizon just in front of the Mass Transit Center. Lights started to illuminate the myriad buildings huddled amongst each other while elevated highways and AeroTrain tracks snaked in and around the structures. Hundreds of thousand of little spots of lights permeated the skyscape, and the sweet smell of condensed city life infiltrated his lungs. The height of the Mass Transit Center platform in relation to the beach created an oceanic breeze that ruffled the lower edges of his trenchcoat. He removed his sunglasses and inspected the surrounding highways and streetways for any sign of the Marauder, and then took a turbolift to the middle levels to catch an AutoTaxi to the lower class Zona District.

The AutoTaxi's computer paused as it searched for Server One's position returning a simple answer, "Server One is everywhere. Specific destination, please?" He requested the quaint little Cafe Rodin on Castro St in Zona. The AutoTaxi confirmed his destination, subtracted the fees from his i-Card, and accelerated down the elevated highway towards the heart of San Angeles. The buildings towered high overhead blocking any attempt to view the night sky, jutting outward like huge spikes piercing into the darkened firmament. It felt like home, but that was long gone, and Edge City had become his new home.

**A small RC helicopter approaches the group hovering slightly over them. A small external speaker announces:**

X3PH1R: "Hello my fellow agents. Just to give you a heads-up, I'm nowhere within anywhere near this helicopter. This is a pre-recorded message."

**The helicopter scans the region identifying any potential weapons, and moves higher**

X3PH1R: "It also has a built-in A.I., that I personally created, so don't try anything either. Now, one of your objectives is to bring me back. Well, I'm not ready to come back just yet. I've found something, and I'm not coming back until I'm done."

**The helicopter shoots out a single, red laser beam at the black Prius, then scans out towards the red Prius.**

X3PH1R: "You're still free to try to catch me, as I told Pagano, I can use the practice. But, whom are you to trust more? A top ranking agent such as myself, so high that I no longer have a name but a code name, or your handler agents that are referred to by locations they frequent?"

**The helicopter starts to rise...**

X3PH1R: "It's up to you. I'll see you in Paris. Maybe I'll get to test out those new upgrades I picked up."

**The helicopter's rotors accelerate and lift the small vehicle about 100 feet higher than where it was. Upon reaching its final altitude, it promptly self-destructs showering the agents with debris from the destroyed toy. A small, Motorola V-60i cell phone drops from the debris, bounces once on the pavement and stops at Reed's feet. It's not harmed, and is beeping once every ten seconds. It's a tracking device, but for what?**

Technically, it's called free verse. But, poems don't have to follow the specific rhyming, stanza, meter, or other principles. They are as free as the poet wants them to be. But, you can't break all the rules. Otherwise, you'd be translating Vietnamese.

I once typed in "blah" and got a picture of Brad Pitt naked.

Typing in Rogue's cat, "fappy", gets you pictures of a Japanese fax machine that can also monitor your house for thieves.

Got this when I typed in "coffee":

"naked car" got me this installation art from Burning Man:
Burning Man Installation...note, there's a naked person in the picture

"car pool" got this:

He pulled the vehicle to a stop at the San Angeles Mass Transit Center A Station watching the platform for arriving passengers. Christine sat next to him watching the platform and the surrounding buildings. San Angeles possessed a dark aura to its cityscape, unlike Edge City's bright charm. The buildings in Edge City, however huddled, were designed to increase sunlight through the region and amplify moonlight at night. The buildings generated their own power much like the leaves on trees helped to generate the plant's food. San Angeles, on the other hand, sucked life out of the city without giving back. It had been humored once long ago that San Angeles was the evil mutation of Terran's Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York combined. Even in the brightest of days on Earth II, San Angeles streetways never saw the light of day. The color schemes of the buildings absorbed most light, and lack of windows provided little or no reflection of the suns' energies.

Lee sat in the Marauder watching as a SubTrain transitioned out of the tunnel towards the AeroTrain station, its passengers disembarking and flooding the turbolifts, and watched the AeroTrain disappear down the track again. A dark, homely figure stepped out towards the edge of the platform surveying the lot below. That figure then took the lift down to the middle level automated vehicle highway and summoned an AutoTaxi. It had to be Pat.

"He's on the move," Lee stated pointing at the green AutoTaxi on the upper highway, "and we haven't much time." Darkness was starting to envelope them as the yellow lights of San Angeles started to come on, and his Marauder linked up to AngelNet--San Angeles' answer to TransNet--allowing them to move into the automated highway and overtake Pat's taxi.

A dark Harbor West vehicle joined his trek towards the seedy Zona District of San Angeles, closely following him on the automated highway as it snaked around the tall buildings of central downtown. Christine watched as the surrounding buildings blocked out all attempts of Isis and Usiris to shine down on the San Angeles citizens.

"We have company," Lee said watching the center console monitor, "and I believe we may have to ditch the Marauder."

Christine looked puzzled peering behind her as the dark vehicle rapidly approached, "How?"

Lee pushed back his trenchcoat's sleeve, "This is how," he depressed a button on his watch. Immediately, everything around him froze to a dead stop. Christine, whom should have been time frozen as well, sat there looking at him.

"Oh, that."

Oh, that? he thought. "You found Tom's watch," he wasn't too surprised, but suspected something else.

"No, Brandon found it," she moved her sleeve up revealing the old Special Ops technology, "and I meant to return it. Really."

He unlocked his door and pushed it open retrieving the disc, "Let's go. We've only fifteen minutes, and if Pat's wearing his watch; he's still able to move as well." Christine stepped out of the car and peered back towards the AutoTaxi several miles down the highway. In the distance, a single blue light bounced rhythmically down the highway. It was Pat, and he was running.

"Is he all that dangerous? He can't be. He was an analyst," she panted out as they ran down the highway dodging other frozen vehicles, their watches counting off the seconds to time-resume.

Lee glanced over his shoulder seeing the bouncing blue light heading towards them, "We had a falling out years ago, and yes he can be dangerous." Lee stopped underneath the Mass Transit Center A-2, and pried the turbolift doors open. He motioned for them to climb down the tube. On the streetway below, and in the darkness of a hostile city, they disappeared into the alleys of the night. The blue light continued bobbing passed the Mass Transit Center and on the highway towards the Zona District.

Lee and Christine stopped in front of a small deli and sat down at its tables. Ten minutes until time-resume, he started to remember his days when he lived just a few blocks from that deli. On the twelfth floor of the Elysian Apartments overlooking the darkness of the business plaza just south of his buildings, spending countless hours sitting at his window watching the riff-raff of the night stalking about, engrossed in the findings of his hacker talents. Pat used to live in the same building, four stories higher, facing the north side with a timid view of the AeroTrain lines. They used to meet at the deli for sandwiches, back before they worked together for the greater good, back before San Angeles fell into corruption, before Edge City rose from nothingness.

He stood and took a deep breath of the warm air permeated with the stench of social denegration, his trenchcoat swaying in the slight breeze that managed to slink through the streetways. He tried to look past the buildings jutting towards the sky in search of Isis or Usiris, but the tall, jagged structures afforded no view of either moon. His PCD started to ring.

"Agent," started an ethereal soothing voice cutting through the eerie night air, "I am very pleased to know that you are in San Angeles. I trust you are here for the same reasons as Patrick."

"I have my reasons, yes. I also have--"

"Pardon my interruption, but you have a disc you'd like me to take a look at. I know," her voice calmed his addled nerves, "and I would like you to meet me at the Cafe Rodin on Castro St. You're only a few blocks away. And, when the time-freeze lifts, I'll help as much as I can."

"Thank you, Server One." The call disconnected, and he held out his hand for Christine, "Shall we?"

So, I'm walking around a thrift store in Long Beach looking for bits and pieces of my Zabuza cosplay costume when I get a call from a 310 area code. Either a job or a client.

It was a job. So, I start today around 5 PM for the graveyard shift as a quality assurance technician (video game tester) for Activision.

I have a theory that I can never be unemployed for more than three months, and so far that has been true. Anyway, I'm running late for my financial aid appointment at ITT Tech.

OOC: First issue...you have to read my posts in their entirety to remember things...like that the agency impounded the convertible and you no longer have it. You have a black Prius, a red Prius, and the pick-up truck. Convertible no longer there.

**Agent Reed's phone starts to ring...caller ID: X3PH1R**

X3PH1R: "You may or may not know me, but I just needed to pass on a little tidbit of information to you both. Stop daydreaming, get up from the pavement of the parking lot, and get to the airport. I can't have any fun if I'm missing agents, now can I?"

X3PH1R: "Because, you do realize that the convertible was impounded by the Agency, correct?"

X3PH1R: "And, I hope one of you has that cell phone."

Although I don't much like Harry Potter, or anything in their realm, I enjoyed to poem...to an extent. Always the talented writer, but giving Malfoy a heart? Doesn't seem plausible.

See, in the adult world there are things like Non-Disclosure Agreements and Confidentiality Agreements that prevent me from telling you about any of the details of anything I do.

I get paid $9/hour as a full-time employee working from 5PM to 1:30AM Monday through Friday. At the end of whatever project I'm assigned to, we get a free copy of the game we worked on, AND our names appear in the credits for the game.

After three months, I'm eligible to start buying and receiving free games from Activision. Unfortunately, only those closest to me will know what game I'm working on, and NO ONE will know the details of any game I'm working on until after its release date.

During training yesterday, we played an E3 release of Blade II and an E3 release of X-Men II: Wolverine's Revenge, and some other game...

The area we work in is called the Dungeon because it's in the basement, but still cool. Laid back work environment in a medium to high-level security facility (we need key cards just to access doors and elevators), I love it!

So, what's the verdict? Are you going to jump on the bandwagon for the XBOX 360 or the PS3 whenever they both come out?

I, personally would love to see stuff on the PS3, and probably will before the consumer market does (I work for Activision now as a game tester). I also noticed that The Emperor has located photos from E3 about the PS3 release.

I've never been a Microsoft fan, so I'm not too big on the XBOX at all. That, and most of the games I want to play are PlayStation only.

So, which do you prefer? If there is a preference.
