| First things first. Silent Hill is definately not the BEST video game movie. I don't think there will be on that tops the first Mortal Kombat.
The special effects in the movie are the best i've ever seen in a horror movie. It was very well done. I read that most of the monsters aren't actually CGI, just actors with amazing makeup. Special effects aside. Some of the acting/dialogue was bad. Excellent example of this is at the beginning of the movie when: Spoiler:
Her daughter keeps chanting "Silent Hill" in your sleep. I was worried the movie would take this corny path of dialogue, but it didn't. However the plot soon became very convulted and hard to follow. I understood it, but they tried to cram the whole backstory in to a 5 minute flashback. And it still didn't explain everything. And the end....there's a lot of speculation as to what it means. There's really no cut and dry explantion. But in my opinion: Spoiler: It's just proving that Silent Hill is an alternative reality. And that's where the mother and daughter are. This would set it up for the 2nd movie where her husband could get a letter from her saying come to Silent Hill. Just like the 2nd game. |

Dude I saw this one clip on the net: Two guys and two girls are playing tennis. One guy hits the ball and it hits a girl in the nose. They stop the game and yell at the guy. The other guy and the other girl walk the injured girl to inside. The guy that hit her tries to follow, but they're like "haven't already done enough?" Anyway. They get into the house. And the injured girl lays on the bed. She's like "Ow my nose hurts." and the guy is like "it's okay, I know CPR" Then he goes down on her! Funniest porn beginning ever! |

I wouldn't say it's overrated. It needs to be highly liked to be overrated. Most of the reviews have many negative things to say.

I didn't really think the violence was to bad. In fact the one Pyramid Head part actually made me like the movie more. I've been desensitized by film though. So I'm probably a bad example. (Last edited by § on 05-05-06 07:06 PM)

I think the sex thing is perfectly fair. I don't believe a 15 year old's body is mature enough for sexual intercourse.

I know its just a year, but I believe 16 is okay. In Michigan 16 is the legal age for consent, and I agree with it.

Mmmm yes. They got a lot of play on MTV:U when I was at school. I had their cd downloaded for quite some time before it was released. (I bought it when it was released, of course.)

I like their sound a lot. It has a 80's throwback feel. Their lyrics can be quite fun/original too. These Things, Sister, and Tear You Apart are some of my favorite songs. (restricted) |

Let me say this first. I am far from a xbox fanboy. I love the Metal Gear series. And I've always prefered Playstation over Xbox. With that said:

MGS 4 won't win the console war for Ps3. It doesn't appeal to enough people. Sure the game looks gorgeous and will play amazing. (It's not even a matter of hoping. There's no way Hideo Kojima can F' this up.) Halo 3 will be a juggernaut. That will be the 360's main weapon in this 'war'. As much as I dislike Halo I can admit that despite how awesome MGS4 is; it won't outshine Halo 3.

That was very...long. I agree, you do seem to laugh a lot. The Hobbit Slash made me chuckle, but I was bored for a lot of it. It takes a lot to keep my attention on an 11 minute video that doesn't have laser beams or dancing jaguars. |
