| yes yes you certainly can get high from breathing, it IS oxygen intake and YES it is like drugs. infact they have oxygen bars for exactly that reason, furthermore it is harmless and even good for you to breathe as deeply as you can for as long as you can stand for a while each day. your lungs will expand, you will lose weight, feel better, and when you speak you will have a louder clearer more full tone of voice. (these are things 8 years of breathing excercise teaches you)
............and another thing...dont start smoking, all that good stuff you learned goes to crap immediatly |

| Wow...i have been keeping my eye on this thread for some time, because i remember being in almost the exact place you are in during my senior year....infact my posts on the message boards i frequented at the time sounded more or less identical to yours (seems like nobody's problems are unique anymore; population saturated the market a while back, but i digress..) the best advice i can give you is to break up the idea of getting into college into its component parts. first make sure you have your transcripts all together when you leave highshcool and go directly to a community college councilor, these people will tell you for free what you need to do to get into a four year college, and they are also good for pointing you towards scholarships you are eligible for. and as long as you have your transcripts some of what you may have already taken would count for what you need to take. After that, sign up for classes, look into tutoring in the areas you arent so good at so that you can give them the old spit-shine grade-wise. Jobs are hard to come by but there is a good chance you qualify for something? ...you mentioned you refurbish computers, you could always buy old crappy computers, update them a bit and sell them on ebay...or trade them on craigslist for macaroni.... anywho the point i am trying to make here is that if look for options then they are ALWAYS there and only pessimistic thinking or a blindfold can keep you from seeing them ...(i realize i sound like a motivational poster on a school library at this point but it is true)...any situation is only what you make of it, so *shudders at the corny sounding thing i am about to say*.....make the best of it (Last edited by venomouslobster on 10-13-06 09:44 AM) |

| let me start out by saying i do not take drugs, i smoked pot for a little while but i grew out of it
its human to want to not be yourself for a while, drugs tap into the exact same urge that roleplaying, videogames and any other form of entertainment fill. I know people on drugs that inspire me every day with revalations they had while using, and i also know people that irritate the living shit out of me. Frankly it seems that you are speaking out of ignorance (not saying that you are ignorant in general, just about drug culture and that is perfectly ok) and it is fine that you express your opinion but I assure you that you havent seen the full spectrum of what drugs can do and have done. If you really want to see what society would be like without the influence of drugs, then take all your cds that contain music written after 1900 (and also all the motzart and beethoven) and burn them. Do the same with about half your books but regarding dates between 1000 ad til now. Throw away your shakespeare, throw away marlowe, throw away, keats, proust, ginsberg, jack keruac. Without gruit (a hallucinagenic beer like substance made with bog myrtle and wild rosemary) the first book in english (canturbury tales) would never have existed. If you would like to see how life would be without the advent of alchohol, then i suggest you move to africa (far away from everyone else), take up residence in a cave, and live off of termites and bugs and small rodents (but not the kind that get you high...yes they exist) or what ever you can catch with your bare hands and sharpened sticks (no stone tools or traps of any kind, they were invented after fermentation was discovered) perhaps the people you know who are on drugs (i am guessing pot from your post) are just annoying when they are high...in which case they SHOULDNT smoke pot. Or they should just stop being annoying when they smoke pot, either way is good really. people should moderate all their habits and if they cross that line into abuse of those habits they should STOP them immediatly. EDIT: and one more thing....the following drugs ALWAYS do horrible evil things to people and should never be done by anyone who respects life: crystal meth heroin crack cocaine (and to a lesser extent) tobacco (Last edited by venomouslobster on 10-14-06 09:53 AM) |
