The doorknob twisted as two figures peeked into the establishment, making sure they were in the right spot. Upon seeing such seedy figures, they decided they were correct.

The redheaded young lady, about 24 years old, yawned as she entered, motioning for her large, middle-aged companion to join her.

"This is right place, Bruce," she started, before seeing the host. She gulped nervously, brushing her hair aside.

"Uh... I'm Cindy, and this is Bruce," she introduced, Bruce nodding, keeping quiet for the time being. Cindy told him to "keep your loud mouth shut", and he never liked her when she was upset.

"You probably haven't heard of us, but... we still want in on this thing you're planning. Though... I've never done something this dangerous before," Cindy admitted. She hoped for her host's approval. If that was out of the question, the money she and Bruce needed so desperately would have to be made some other way. A thought ran through her mind just then, 'What the hell am I doing?'

Bruce remained calm as he gulped at the thought of Apollo's true power. The seriousness in the host's eyes was magnanimous. Cindy reached into her pocket and pulled out a cigarette. With a snap of her fingers, it ignited as she held it between her lips.

I know I might regret this. Why the hell am I doing this? Why are we here?
Even though these thoughts flooded Cindy's mind, she still stepped forward. She still chose to fight.

"I'm with you. Let us in on your plan, boss-man." With this declaration, Bruce moved next to her.
"If she's in, I'm in, too. Whaddaya want us to do?"

Cindy's eyes glanced to and from each person in the room, before finally meeting with the Beast itself. The tension was palpable. She stared into its eyes with conviction, as her focus surged through her like a rushing flood tide, and a wave of flame washed over her body, eyes glowing like galvanic stones.

"I will take this oath," she responded hesitantly, As she did, Bruce sighed as he relaxed himself before clenching his teeth and his fists. With an audible crack, his form became that of chiseled granite, the human body of his becoming a solid, gray, rough sculpture of pure rock.

"I'm in, too. Her oath is mine as well." Such determination and straightforwardness rarely escaped Bruce's mouth, but this was one of his rare moments when the gravely voice poured out words of loyalty. Her lead was his; he never acted without Cindy's mutual approval. This was his fight now, as well.

College, work, getting engaged. Building awesome M:tG decks, got into actual Mahjong. My dog died, and ex-friend went out to the navy. My sister's pregnent; I'm going to have a niece. Got a client for free-lance artistry, kinda stopped playing WoW.

I hope you've all been well. I'll see what I can do about sticking around. :I

Real Mahjong is played like gin rummy. You have to make a hand of 14 tiles with 4 sets of 3 in a run of the same suit, or 3 of a kind, and finally, one pair. Everyone draws a tile, and discards one when it's their turn.

If you're a fan of anime, check out Akagi. It's all about Mahjong.

Also, Thex, Yeti season's over. Most of the big ones were shot by the all the crazy hunters out here.

Hello.

I am now 31. I now own a house in Maine. I'm financially independent. I have a college education and a full time job.

It's been so, so long since I've posted here, but I'm glad the board is still alive-ish. I just got nostalgic over the old RP threads, the old art I used to post here, and wanted to see if this place even still existed.

Glad it does. Hope you all are well. It's been almost 2 decades. I cannot believe it. So many memories. Drunk on Bon & Viv. Love you all, miss all the good times.

Just gonna hunker down, and lay low. I'm still working from home, but I plan to sell my house in the spring and move even further north. Too many people this far south in Maine. Hope no more surprises happen that will ruin what's left of this year, haha

It seems that activity is at an all time low, which is to be expected for a board over 14 years old. We all had some good times here. But what if we just started a discord server? I'm sure most of us are familiar with it, and it would be a neat way to maybe even have a little reunion session.

I don't disagree. But the board can still exist; probably as more of a monument to the good ol' days. We gotta face the facts; almost no one shows up here anymore. We're all adults now, and have lives outside of message boards. That, and the board has been taken over spam bots with waves of phishing attempts every several days.

I just think it makes sense to have a more centralized, light weight community at this point. I don't want us to all to drift apart forever, to be honest. Hell, I can't even reach out to Cairoi, Xeios, Astrophel, or anyone else at this point, just because we all drifted apart. With Discord, if we ever do decide to dissipate for good, at least we can still have points of contact for any non-communal contact to keep friends close by. Face it; without a Discord, once people tell themselves they're done with Xeogaming or Acmlmboards forever, that's it. I just don't want to see that happen.

To be fair, at this point, why not just disable registrations given the only ones have been spam for the most part for the past few years now? I doubt the Indian 'packers and movers' spammers and the likes can fathom how to bypass a move like that - and it forces anyone who genuinely wishes to register to directly ask an administrator.

On a side note - I'd apply for mod (mostly for cleaning up the spam issues and nuking every single account in the memberlist that is a spammer regardless of their post history) if it weren't for mental instability.

The fact I have about five accounts lying around that I scrambled the password on not too long ago due to somewhat recent drama which is totally irrelevant to here should prove the previous paragraph enough... there's also the fact I tend to have a habit of messing up everything I touch.

That said, I could easily sort out a quick-fix Discord server configuration and transfer the ownership to one of you if you're too busy right now, I never do anything useful with my time, me being a NEET so... yeah
