| Well, I've certainly been out of the loop for a while now. I'm on leave, back in Minnesota, until the 3rd. Just a few more days. I haven't been home in about a year and a half. I went to see friends, hung out with family and did some fun activities. Got some good presents this year. | |||

| Damn people, it seems you might want to change the title of this thread to "Woe is me..." I didn't have anyone to spend it with, but I did get a new CD player installed in my car, which I've been wanting to do since before I left Korea. Also saw a movie, which I forgot what it was. Then I had to get up and 3:30 am for formation and head out to "the field" for a two week training thing. That sucked. Mine wasn't horrible but it wasn't that great either. |

| My Thanksgiving was interesting to say the least. In Afghanistan of all places is where I had it. I was at a different base with my commander for a couple days. FOB Wilson. The food was great. Even had my first helicopter ride the day before (to get out there). On the was back it was weird.
The chopper (a Chinook this time) did arrive until around 130 am. Once on we took off after ten minutes. 10 minutes into the flight we land in what appeared to be a field with really tall grass (in Afghan?? It WAS dark, so who knows) and picked up soldiers who I'm guessing were doing a night mission. Then we fly to another base were more people load up, only this time I saw what looked like aghan civilians being escorted on. As they got closer I notice their hands were zip tied together and had opaque goggles on so they couldn't see. Yeeeeeeah.... insurgents who had be captured. Weird, flying a detainee sitting across from you. Well, we eventually ended up back in Kandahar and I got to my room around 3 am. Interesting Thanksgiving. Oh, and hi.  |

| I thought I maybe put up a couple pics from this past summer, but it looks like I didn't
These first 4 were taken during a July 4th beach party on the Mississippi River in Winona, MN while I was on leave. In the first picture I'm on the far right with the chihuahua next to my head. The guy standing behind us with is arms out is my brother. 
Me and Ms. hottie, Jenna, who took the first and 4th pictures and did the editing. She's a photographer.

This is of me and a good friend, Ann. Taken a few months ago right outside my apartment door when I was at Ft. Hood. (I'm in Afghanistan now). What we're holding is a bottle of Well's Banana Bread Beer that I brought from Minnesota after my leave was over. 
These next 3 are of my tattoo I had done in September. It starts from the back, goes over the shoulder and ends on my chest. A koi fish swimming upstream in water that gradually turns to ice (on my chest). It took 2 and a half hours, and there was literally not one second when I didn't cringe in pain from the needle going into my skin. It really hurt.

Life takers and heartbreakers. Yeah, well this Army boy isn't like the others. When I'm with a woman I intend to have a good time with her. I'll flirt all I can with her. I've never been the typical Army guy either. I'll put my foot down if I have to, but I'm a man who always likes to have a good time.

| Indeed. OPSEC is important stuff. She can't give you the dates because, while it's unlikely to happen, all it takes is a terrorist to come across this site (god knows why they would decided to look into a "gaming" site), see that info and plan to set up and shoot the plane down either as it's taking off or during mid-flight. Not that that there probably aren't flights going in and out of her area everyday for someone to pick off. A bunch of people in a plane are what they're looking for. |
