| A year ago a few TokyoPop artists, writers, and editors came to do a presentation at my library to try and recruit local talent to come work for them.
TokyoPop's been trying to get more American work out there, as well as try to appeal to the Westerners who aren't really open to the reading books right to left or Eastern style. I've been having issues with them a lot lately. They've been delaying several volumes of manga I'm collecting and the street dates for the last issues have been put back months. For fuck's sake, the last issue of Battle Royale came out in November and the one's not until mid-April. The whole damn thing's been done for a while now in Japan and all they needed to complete was the American-translation which has ALSO been done. I'm also annoyed by all the needs to change EVERYTHING into manga, at least at TokyoPop. I was surprised (or not, really) to see they were putting out Lilo and Stitch: The Manga 2 Anime Expos ago. Yeah, Takuhai's just nuts. In the last issue they announced there's going to be a Rocky Horror Picture Show manga.  |

This really doesn't have half the genres I like/listen to religiously and some of the questions weren't really coherent to me. It is true that rap and pop are closer to the bottom for me, though.

Listened to the album on a roadtrip with Zoso to Phoenix. I liked it, as expected, though it was slower paced.

Always did prefer Pink's original version of "Another Brick in the Wall" as opposed to Korn's.

In one of my journalism classes, the teacher was passing around the latest copy of Vanity Fair (to show us how the lay their magazine out) which I was flipping through and noticed an article in there about MySpace and how it was bought by FOX owner, Rupert Murdoch. I mentioned it to the teacher, as she finds MySpace interesting, though she won't get an account. A girl in the class popped up and said the site was genius and the 28-year-old who made it had to do was create a better version of Friendster. I commented, "Yay friend-collecting..." and then she jumped back with, "Noo! Social networking." "Same thing, just a nicer word for it." And she ran out crying. The fuck? It's actually amusing how one of the greatest science fiction films of all time almost comes off like a college student's spring break film. I was amused to see what they were doing with Luke before you actually see him with his Uncle Ben. He actually has friends.

The cantina seen was pretty boring, but they included that Han had a girl with him, something he didn't have before. Or at least they never showed him with any women other than Leia. I thought it was amusing that Luke couldn't even stand up to that one girl that was with one of his friends. It's like Luke never seems to have any sort of luck or stance with women. Enter Mara Jade. Well, that and when Vader strikes down the robe that's supposed to be Ben, and the bottom half flies off while the head and torso just float there.

I feel the same about the crappy Mac mouses that we use at my office. My office refuses to use PCs, which is fine, I've warmed up to it.

They have those tiny ones that came with the original iMacs and have only one button are ball mouses rather than optical. Gah! They don't get anywhere on the screen and you try to do one thing and end up pissed off. You have to manually copy and paste things.

Scary Movie was sort of a lark. Then they made Not Another Teen Movie and tried to expand on the satirical movies. The other Scary Movies weren't near as amusing. Really if I were to spoof the romantic comedies, I would have done it much differently.
