Nope. Combined, I've maybe spoken to my three exes a handful of times since our break-ups. I'm not even Facebook friends with any of them. Nelson, the one I dated the longest of the three, is the only one who's reached out at all. The last time we've spoken was six years or so ago when he wanted to let me now his father had passed away. Before that he'd called a couple times to say hi and inevitably ask, "Are you still with what's-his-name?" referring to Brandon.

I suppose the ironic thing, though, is that Bran asked me dating advice before we got together.

Well, I'm certainly not happy with Sansa's storyline, no. The show's eternal victim just keeps getting handed one new misery after another. I'm sure there's a reason the producers went in this direction, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

I'm not as shitting my pants excited as everyone else seems to be regarding...
Spoiler:
Dany and Tyrion finally meeting.

Not trying to pry and get into your business, but Ben comes up a lot on here for his unemployment. What's going on with that? I mean, you moved for him and you've been killing yourself working and going to school. How are things?

And indeed, carbs make up way too many of my food fantasies. Ooooh, pasta. Mmmm ramen. Yeah, cake, you sexy bitch.

Fuck feeling ultimately worthless and that I can't do anything right. Had one of those weeks at work.

Sort of. Yeah, I can only watch survival dramas for so long.

It's also how their official Faceook posted a picture of one of the major characters dead right after the mid-season finale aired on the eastcoast, thereby spoiling it for everyone else. Things like that just leave me cold.

Still, when I went over to a friend's place, recently, where she and another friend were watching some of the new episodes I hadn't seen, it all just wasn't holding my interest. I might let this show stew for a couple seasons and come back to binge-watch later.

Anyway, I've been keeping up with "Game of Thrones," and not much else is on right now that I've been that into. I mean, "Vikings" is already off for the year, "Boardwalk Empire" ended, and I just don't think I'll be that invested in the new season of "True Detective."

I might finally sit down and watch "Borgias."

Went to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the California Science Center. What a goddamn waste of money. $20 to see it and they only had three or four of the scrolls (which you had to cram like hell to see) and the other old papers they had were just ones found along with the much more significant Bible ones. Sooooo much filler.

Glad Mom ended up paying me back for the tickets. At least the 3D IMAX movie on Jerusalem, narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch was decent.

Anyway, the exhibit had so many more scrolls and less filler when they did it at the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park.

In other news, been reading more about Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage.

Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell, if I remember right. Who knows? They could actually be good.

Ah, right, and "Orange Is The New Black" is coming back in June. There's something to look forward to.

While things have gotten "better" since that last post, I'd say in other ways I've gotten worse. Well, at least I won't feel so emotionally invested in it when I find another job in the future.

I've been addictedly listening to NPR a lot lately, so I haven't really been listening to a lot of music on the radio.

I think the song I hate the most these days is that "Thing of You" song. The female clients keep wanting me to blast it when it comes on the radio in the van, and I've never been much of a fan of slow love songs.

Been reading a lot again. But, as per usj, not the month's book club read.

I mean, I started "Hero With a Thousand Faces" while I was serving on that jury last week, but it's like reading a textbook, so I sort of lapsed into other things I'd taken out from the library.

Finished since last post:
- Several of the huge volumes of "Showa: History of Japan" by Shigeru Mikuki
- "The Borgias" by Alejandro Jodorowski, drawn by Milo Manara
- "Onwards Toward Our Noble Deaths" by Shigeru Mizuki
- "Blacksad" by Juan Diaz Canales
- "Chew" vol. 8
- "Blacksad: Amarillo" by Juan Diaz Canales
- "Gaijin: American Prisoner of War"
- Matt Fraction's first two volumes of "Sex Criminals"
- "The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage"
- "Blood on Snow" by Jo Nesbø

Currently reading "My Friend the Mercenary" by James Brabazon, which is freaking great so far.

I've been failing so hard lately at not spending money that I should really be saving. I get by, sure, but I think the only way I haven't made any really crazy impulse purchases by reminding myself that I REEEEEAALLLLLY need that money for something else that's coming up.

Yeah, not sure otherwise.

"Fallout 3," probably, with "Bioshock Infinite," "Shadow of the Colossus," "Final Fantasy XII," "Dishonored," and the first "God of War" in close seconds.

And yes, I'm uber-excited about "Fallout 4."

I'm going through a weird funk right now that involves feeling worthless and as though no one likes me, and further that I care too much about what people think of me.

So what am I at least happy about right now?

Happy that I've got a big trip coming up in September.

Happy that my boss gave me the time off for it.

Happy that Shakespeare in the park season is almost here.

Happy that Mom is interested in doing tea at the Huntington with me.

Happy that I'll probably stand a decent chance of finding another job when I get back from the trip.

Happy that my hip and back pain seem to be ebbing.

Happy that several of the clients seem really happy to see me every day. They give me necklaces and bracelets that they make and buy things for me when they go on shopping trips with other groups. At least they make it worthwhile.

I only really watched Bethesda's announcement panel, but I already knew what they were going to announce since their presentation rehearsal leaked beforehand.

Anyway, I am MASSIVELY excited about "Fallout 4," what with the fact that it's fucking Fallout and there's so much shit you're going to be able to do and see in this game. Once I get back from my trip in September I'm pre-ordering the shit out of the collector's edition for that Pip-Boy. I'll lose the goddamn weight if it doesn't fit.

The other announcement I was crazy thrilled about is "Dishonored 2." Hell yes.

I haven't seen it, but they caught my interest when I found out the story takes place in this town that's based on Vernon, California. That place is freaking bizarre.

That and I've heard that it's actually really good (at least based on the two episodes the critics have been screened).

I'm just glad that's another spoiler I've known about that's out of the way.

Spoiler:
I've sadly known about Jon's stabbing for a couple years now, due to yet another internet troll just wanting to stir some shit. Anyway, I figure the fact that they brought Melisandre back to Castle Black is just going to have her pull a Thoros with Beric Dondarrion act and ask the Lord of Light to revive him.

Also have you been hearing all the people insisting that Jon's eyes turn purple as the blood is draining from his body? I'm sure this is just sabre-rattling from all the people who insist Jon is really just the bastard son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. He could be, but we don't know. Perhaps will never know.

But I realize credit is something I will need, eventually. Slowly but surely it's building up this way. lol

I'm 30 and still pay for everything with a debit card and have never had a credit card. I've heard it's not at all uncommon among millennials, in that we're prone to distrust banks and avoid debt as much as possible by not even putting the temptation in our sights. Still, I should get around to applying for a credit card, at least to build credit altogether.
