So yeah, still no luck on luring Sean Connery out of retirement.

I'm kinda hoping he's just pretending to be uninterested.

I'm just going to go with Poxy Boggards. Most of the board people from southern California know about them, but they aren't a very widely known band.

They don't have any music videos and most footage of them is taken with cell phones and still cameras that have a slight capacity for video, but not a very good one.

I wish I had awesome dreams. Mine tend to be really weird or some mindfuck nightmare about not getting to go to Comic-Con or something stupid like that.

Perhaps you've finally discovered you have foresight, Slaya?

I actually really got to like Near. Mello not so much.

Near's sort of like L's little brother.

I used to like Light, but over time I just started hating him more and more. Misa too. She just got absurdly aggravating to watch.

Well that was a fun week. Really tiring what with watching the kid day-in and day-out, but it was definitely fun going to Arizona for a few days.

Was still up with the sun, but that was all right. Thankfully Arizona doesn't observe Daylight savings, so I didn't have to change clocks this time around heading over.

Anyone get to relax at all?

Not wanting to ruin what might go down in General, I'll just post the talk here.

I figured I'd throw this up now, as tomorrow a lot of these will be taken down and pointed out as the April Fools jokes they are.

Here's some I've seen so far today:

World of Warcraft meets Guitar Hero with a brand spanking new Bard class

WoW becomes playable on consoles as Molten Core

You can play Starcraft II as a Tauren Marine

Diablo institutes the loot pinata

VG Cats tries out a new layout with a strip that mocks Ctrl+Alt+Del

EDIT: True to form Bmezine has their own joke for today. Among the usual piercings and tattoos they discuss, a new trend in body mods: Cutting off your nose

EDIT 2: Found more. ESPN-labeled Hillary and Obama death match

Xkcd's website links to Questionable Content

TBS is now "The Boring Station" (They screwed up their own joke putting in a pop-up that informs you it's April Fools Day, though)

X-Box's "new line" of products

Newgrounds is now Ebaum's Poo Grounds

City of Heroes shall start instituting visual sound effects to be more comic book-like

Any others?

I finally got the courage up to ask my old bestfriend from high school for some graphic novels back that I loaned her nearly 4 years ago.

It seemed every time I'd ask for these things back either she'd sign off line or she'd say sure and would never bring them back. Last time I asked, she'd loaned them out to another friend of hers so he could read them.

Said friend of hers has moved to Colorado.

Today, I asked her if she'd gotten them back.

Her response: "no "

Followed by a lot of uncomfortable silence.

Concluding with her signing off.

Fuck.

I figure oh well. Since the last time I talked to her, she'd moved. I also don't have her cell phone number. Bugging her wouldn't make a difference.

Might as well re-buy all 9 books and cut my losses. Looks like if I go through Amazon, it'd cost roughly $10 a book.

The first one seems to be going for $0.99 on eBay. Hmmmm.

Rickrolling seems to have been the most common prank this year. Even YouTube was doing it.

Funny to see the webcomics all team up for theirs or otherwise poke fun at each other.

Heh, that reminds me of an April Fools joke Wizard Magazine pulled a few years ago where they wrote fake reviews and feature stories for upcoming comics, one of which was a sequel to Kingdom Come (that graphic novel I sent you, Xeo), with a cover that looked remarkably real.

People are still going apeshit and asking Alex Ross when it's going to come out.

I think he actually did the fake cover for Wizard, but yeah totally fake.

Anyway, looks like your run of the mill fan film. Still pretty amusing.

For the first time in quite a while I went down to the local comic shop for Wednesday's latest and picked up a the first installment of Secret Invasion, Garth Ennis' and Darick Robertson's The Boys and the new American Splendor ( I didn't realize Harvey Pekar was doing any new ones).

Finally picked up House of M, Infinite Crisis and a few more comics from the library (mostly things like more Usagi Yojimbo and Groo).

Probably a silly question, but since I'm not a net pirate, anyone know where I can get scans of Alan Moore's Lost Girls? I want to read it, but it's going for $75 ($54 on Amazon).

Yeah, he'll never see this. This isn't meant to collect birthday wishes.

This is just to inform everyone of the sad celebration he's in for today--he got assigned jury duty on his b-day.

If that weren't the case he'd be working. Alongside an angry lesbian who drives him crazy.

That is all.

Pat likes to joke that people should not celebrate their birthday after they've passed 21, but they're free to at every tenth b-day. It's all a Patton Oswalt joke about "wasting cake and paper" if you celebrate a 22+ birthday.

Part of it can be heard here:

So Zoso and I were planning on celebrating by buying a Marie Callendar's pie and eating it while he's at the courthouse.

We'll call him up later and tell him we celebrated for him. Maybe throw in the "We bought you a pie, but we eated it."

Nah, we'll probably share it with him.

Then again, Junkie's gone to culinary school and suddenly nothing tastes good to him if it isn't something he or a 5-star chef made themselves.
