Here in Palm Desert gas prices range from $4.50- $4.70 for regular, and gets up to $4.85+ for premium.. and diesel (because my husband and I have a diesel truck) is between $5.00 and $5.20. It's way too much. *sigh* I go no where I don't have to, and my little car gets awesome mileage. 22 city and 36 highway.... but still. I are broke.

Do you prefer American cars or foreign (import) cars?

slot machines and video poker is like arcade games for adults, but instead of getting tickets and winning cheesy cheap prizes, you win more money. ^-^

Staying indoors as much as possible... wearing fewer articles of clothing. And considering it's been 108+ with 30% humidity most of the time... I just want to curl up and die.

Because my husband and I are pretty much broke, we both find that work is tons more important than school right now (even though that's not preventing me from going to school).

Which do you think is more important: Getting a better education to make good money in the future? Or making decent money right now and going to school later? Why?

My zodiac sign is Cancer (crab), and yes, I do think I fit the mold. Introverted, sensitive, definitely ruled by the moon. Strangely enough, the more full the moon is, the more energy I have. I'm usually all but dead around new moons.

What's your favorite ice cream? ( mmm ice cream).

Speaking of food.... my husband made the best semi-homemade meal ever the other night. He made some Pasta Roni, fettuccine alfredo, with sliced hot Italian sausage... topped with home grown, herb roasted tomatoes. mmm mm mm..... tastey.

I think it was a Packard Bell computer. I was in the second grade, I think. so it was around 1992 or 1993. There wasn't even Windows 95 on it... the beast of a machine cost about $3000. You had to type in some MSDOS stuff to play certain games like Star Wars chess and Oregon Trail.

What's your current favorite musician?

Something about a chemical named toluene and it's condensed molecular formula.... including the amounts of carbon and hydrogen.

What's you favorite science? (Chemistry, biology, physics, geology, etc).

The Last Samurai or The Notebook. In two completely different ways.

The Last Samurai, because it was about a dying culture.... and that kind of thing always makes me sad.

The Notebook.... was heartbreaking because the two loved each other so much.... that they died together, remembering each other.

Has music or a dance performance ever made you cry because it was so beautiful/artistic?

The best thing I've found is eating 5 small, healthy meals a day. I work with a girl who CONSTANTLY eats. It actually boosts your metabolism. What do you normally eat? I've got this book called The No Fad Diet. It's put out by the American Heart Association. Basically, what it tells you if you want to lose weight in a healthy manner is to eat fewer calories than your burning. But that doesn't mean starve, either.

Some people say that you should just cut out calories, or fats, or carbohydrates, or whatever.... but I find that if you eat moderate amounts of each, you will still lose weight.

As for running... the best thing to do to increase your time is to step it up a little bit each day. Set a goal. You're running 3 miles in an hour? Try telling yourself that you're going to run 3 miles in 45 or 50 minutes, and see how close you can get to your goal. It's all about motivation.

My brother recently came home for leave from the army. He hasn't changed a bit, other than manners, responsibility and posture. It kind of made me wonder if the military would be a good thing for me. So, naturally, I asked my husband what he thought about me being in the military. .....Big mistake.

He began his angry rant about how he doesn't like what the military stands for. He doesn't like how you don't have much of a choice where you get to go when it comes to war... any of it.

He then proceeded to tell (or yell, rather), that he wouldn't stand having his wife in the military and would divorce me if I enlisted. All because he doesn't agree with it.... which is significant, I guess... but I married him because I thought he would stand beside me in all my decisions.

So, yeah.... this is where I'm at. I feel that I would do excellent in the military, and would love to join the Navy and travel around and see new things. I'm already pursuing nursing, and what better way could I get a nursing degree, let alone, for free, and half the time?

I feel like I can't talk to anyone about this, especially my husband, brother, mom or other family... and it hurts to know that my husband really wouldn't stand behind me in all my choices...

I really hope that he's threatening that because he's scared to lose me.... but somehow, I think that he might really mean it. =/

I also really believe that I would to amazing in the military. The reason why I just don't want to be in college to be a nurse is because I don't have the same self discipline that I used to, and that the military would help with that. Tremendously. The military would also be another experience to check off my list. I've thought about joining the navy on and off since I was in junior high school.

I'll go talk to a recruiter.... my husband won't go. I already know his answer if I asked him to go: "Only if we're going to the courthouse afterward." And that just plain pisses me off. grr. He's also the only one who doesn't think it suits me... but that may just be because he doesn't want me to go.

Now, what might I ask is your husband so against when it comes to "what the military stands for"?

I don't know. I've tried asking him that. He doesn't explain that part. He said he's scared I won't ever come back, and that it would be easier to "get over" me if he wasn't attached with marriage. Talk about a coward. hmph. He also said he was already scared shitless of me -without- being trained in combat... He won't even give it a chance. He thinks I'm strong enough in every way to be in the military, except emotionally. Which I don't think he knows anything about himself.

ugh. in other news- Some asshole now ex-friend of mine and my husband's... told us that our friend of 10+ years died in a car accident. My husband called him this morning while I was in tears to ask what happened... and apparently it was all some joke. haha. fucking dick.

Thanks for all your input, guys... I appreciate it. *feels sheepish*

I'm not joining the military. My husband is way too important to me to want to lose him. Unfortunately, there are no 4 year colleges near me... and I can't afford to move anywhere.

I figured out why he didn't want me to join, though. He thinks I'm scary sometimes because I'm stronger than him... he doesn't want me to learn how to fight. =/ It's a whole 'nother issue.
