An elementary school in the San Francisco Bay area has recently banned homework, saying that it was unnecessary. Others have been saying that those kids are in a world full of trouble when they get into junior high and high school, and even college, because they don't know responsibility.

What do you think?

Another point a friend told me: How do you learn study habits, if you don't have to study?

You learn by repetition, if you have no homework, there is no repetition.

Not all kids catch on like that, Phantom. It's not just that they're not paying attention.Everyone learns differently, as well. You can't base everyone's ability off your own.

The only joke that -kind of- got me at first was that Mushroomhead (my most favorite band) posted a bulletin on MySpace saying one of their coolest band members, St1tch was leaving the band. They had a fake interview and everything. Halfway through, when they were discussing how people constantly compare them to Slipknot (though they're nothing alike, really), that they were going to make a remix album titled "Volume 2: Superliminal Choruses" (Like Slipknot's "Subliminal Verses"), that I got the joke. lol.

Yeah. When I was away for college my mom came uo to visit me... and brought her new boyfriend. This was nearly 2 years after my dad died. It felt really weird at first... not that I'm racist, but he's hispanic, and that for me was kind of weird at first. Until I found out he doesn't even know Spanish. heh heh. It turned out he is such an awesome guy. He's got the biggest heart, he'll do anything for a person, even if it's out of his way. Now he's marrying my mom on the 21st.

Ahh... the essence of.. work. Work sucks. It's just a bunch of retail. I'm putting my Harley Davidson up on ebay next week so that I'll have money to move to Idaho on June 13th.

I can't wait to start school for interior design... and... that's about it. I'm boring. =P

Are you sure you're not thinking of Earth Day? Because Earth Day isn't until the 22nd. As for 4/20 I'm sure I'll smoke a bowl somewhere along the line... but it's not really a special day.

This is pretty amazing, if you think about it. Bush has been known to criticize Wiccans, by saying that there is no such thing as witchcraft, etc... In your face, Bush!

Goals for the summer: Move to Idaho. Take assessment for a community college... then start school in the fall.

as for staying cool, get a fan, open your bedroom door, and crack the window. This provides for excellent circulation. Oh, and keep your curtains/blinds/etc closed. Don't let the sun in, it'll only heat up the room more.

As for summer in general.... It's already 90+ degrees here. It's gonna be a hot summer. I'm glad I'm moving in June. <3

I can reach past my toes... for awhile there I could put my hand flat on the ground, when bending over, whilst my sister couldn't touch her toes either.

I read quite a bit. I haven't read any manga in a long time. I go crazy when I don't have anything new to read.

I just finished up with A Great and Terrible Beauty, which was very dark, and very good. And I've also just read Laurell K. Hamilton's new book, The Harlequin, which is amazing. I'm now in the process of reading The Chronicles of Narnia. I can't usually read anything but Sci-Fi/Fantasy. I've tried. I just can't.... it's gotta have another world in it, or sexy vampire and werewolves.... hehe

This is what happens when you work in a bookstore, I guess. You can't help but read. (It also helps that there's a 30% discount on books, and you can check them out as you would like a library.

Oh, and btw, I'm back. ^-^

I don't get a vacation.... because I moved from Southern California (the craphole that it is...), to Northern Idaho, for school and to be closer to relatives (which one is already starting to get on my nerves, because I live with them.... *sigh). But it's a nice, slower pace up here, and I'm thankful for that. It's like I'm living in a vacation (for now anyway; I'm not going to even bother discussing the winter season...).

eh? O_o

NEW YORK - A peacock that roamed into a fast-food restaurant parking lot was attacked by man who vilified the bird as a vampire, animal-control authorities said.

Beaten so fiercely that most of his tail feathers fell out, the bird was euthanized, said Richard Gentles, a spokesman for the city’s Center for Animal Care and Control.

“It’s just unbelievable that someone would do something to a poor, defenseless animal and do it in such a cruel fashion,” he said.

The peacock, a male several years old, wandered into a Staten Island Burger King parking lot and perched on a car hood Thursday morning. Charmed employees had been feeding him bread when the man appeared.

He seized the iridescent bird by the neck, hurled it to the ground and started kicking and stomping the creature, said worker Felicia Finnegan, 19.

“He was going crazy,” she said.

Asked what he was doing, she said, the attacker explained, “’I’m killing a vampire!”’

Employees called police, but the man ran when he saw them. Authorities were looking for the attacker, described as being in his teens or early 20s.

It was not clear how the bird made his way to the Burger King, but a Staten Island resident who raises peacocks said he had given some to a person who lives near the restaurant.

Yep! sounds like jury duty. My boyfriend's mom (who is randomly racist) just plainly told them that she doesn't like African-Americans, Indians, Native Americans, Chinese, Mexicans, etc, but conveniently used all the racist terms for them... ^-^;; That was in probably the late 70s, early 80s, and they never called her back to jury duty again.

I've had issues like these...

You need to find which subject interests you, then find jobs that deal with that subject. Research them until you find one you like.

If it's mathematics and economics you like, have you thought of accounting?

Or, if anything, just go for a liberal arts major until you can decide. The liberal arts major will let you do a variety of classes, so you will know for sure what you want,

Don't go to UCSD.... I've seen many-a-lives destroyed there. It's a party school, nothing else. As is UCSB. They have giant books in bookstores that list top school with each subject and everything.
