| The bartender grabbed him by the shoulder.
"Rei, I tell you this for your own good, Don't barge in there. I am one of the few alive who know of his strength. In fact, there once was a riot outside of this here bar, that's how he found this place. He found it...when he killed everyone out there. I witnessed this, but he does not know, Please, do not anger him, he is capable of terrible things." The bartender spoke out to Rei, hoping to talk sense into the boy, but there was probably little chance of that, and the bartender would do little to stop him in the end. Vincent smiled. "Alright madame, I shall try to explain it better." Vincent, with a flick of his hand, put the other deck away so quickly it was invisible to the naked eye. He drew a card from his coat. The card sat on his thumb for a moment, unsupported by anything. Suddenly, the card began spinning, and lifted into the air. It was spinning so fast it propelled itself upward. Yet, Vincent was not touching the card anymore, and had no physical way of controlling it. As the card was spinning, he placed his hands above and below it, palms facing the card. With a swift motion, his hands clapped together then separated. A dove flying in the card's place. Vincent caught the dove, as if it was a survivor from the devastation of his clap, and crushed it in his hands. When he handed what was left to Bria, he hoped she understood. What he handed her was a sweet white rose, symbolizing the Red-Eye corporation's bribes to the media to hold the truth back, to let the Red-Eye organization appear to be perfectly in the right for all they had done. "A symbol, for how Red-Eye does business. Watch a situation flourish like the card, think it's free. Crush the card, or resistance. Capture and crush all survivors. Present a rose to those who control the media, buying their freedom and tightening their grasp on the political figures." |

| Xeios just happened to stand at the exact moment the chair reassembled. He sat once more on the very large chair.
"Well, I have many acquaintances, but friends are few and far between. There are a bunch who I love spending time with, my friend Justin for example. Samantha is my girlfriend and I adore her. And I really honestly HATE this guy named Rob Mazzerelli or something like that. He's an idiot and doesn't like me because he was making fun of an Ex of mine so I stopped talking to him. He's also really mature..." The sarcasm was apparent in Xeios' voice. I don't really have much more to say about friends, people from work are pretty awesome." |

| Vincent realized that this Bria girl was protecting him...He smiled kindly and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. He stepped past her lightly and looked into the eyes of this man who just entered the room.
"You do not have the cold dead gaze of a murderer. I see you know you do not have what it takes to defeat me. Otherwise your posture would be more confident, your task would be certain. You have no idea what you are getting yourself into." Vincent pulled his hat off his head and tossed it gently onto the bed behind him. his slicked-back black hair was kept very neat and clean. Vincent tilted his head slightly to the side, to take a look at Alarath. "That will be of no need sir, counting will only lead to empty threats. Should he try and attack me, he would gravely regret it." Vincent appeared to duck rather quickly and had hurled his cape over himself, and in an instant he was not there. A white-gloved hand gently patted Rei on the shoulder...from behind him. "As you can see, I have more than a few tricks which would come in handy against someone like you." Vincent's teleportation was no laughing matter. |

| Vincent shook his head and stared coldly at Rei.
"You may not leave, they have most likely marked you as well. You did destroy one of their robots after all. An offense punishable by death." He laughed for but a moment, his attractive face seeming normal and real, filled with emotion, seeming to bear the qualities of a human and not a murderous monster. "He is not Red-Eye, too brutish, too overbearing, lacking grace almost entirely." Vincent placed one hand on the door. "Here, let me help you with that." He moved the door effortlessly and placed it back in position, the hinges repairing themselves after a second. he opened the door and Ken entered the room. "Yes, the Life Co. cards simply must be done away with. They have tracking systems in them for the use in aiding the capture of criminals. Not many people know this because everyone who does is highly trusted or...A criminal who is about to be executed. We once were part of the first group, but now I fear we all are included in the second group. Minus the execution of course, we're all to good for that...I hope." The last part of his sentence was muttered under his breath. He did not want them to lose faith in the Duo before them. "So, you have two choices: One, give us the cards so we can destroy them. Or Two, I can take your cards and destroy them and we can all be very upset with each other for a long time. I opt for the first one for I am tired and do so dislike resistance." |

| OOC- Sorry for not getting a direct answer to you sooner, and just to let you know, I would've said that you wouldn't have a card but since it was already posted that you had one I thought that my following reason would be sufficient enough.
"Yes, they would do that. It's a requisite for allowing someone in the city with anything that could be considered a weapon. Just to keep track on any potential murderers. not saying you are one, you just look rather tough." Vincent smiled cheerfully and gathered the cards that had been handed over, and pulled a gadget from his coat, a small battery type thing with two wires sticking out. He wired the cards up and an electric shock was sent through them, frying the circuitry inside of them. Most importantly the tracking systems. "That should do it...Did I miss any cards?" | Vincent sighed. He grabbed the card which Rei handed to him. Attaching it to his electrostatic gadget and zapping the chip.
"Breaking it in half won't do anything, they have circuitry which must be fried." Vincent looked at the smart-alecky girl and smiled. "I sure do hope you're telling the truth miss, otherwise I won't be protecting you if they come for us." Vincent said this cheerfully, but something in his eyes showed that he meant every word. |

"Come now. You're too melancholy to be the Ken I know. Friend, you have not damned me by having me join you, you have saved me. I would have been commanded to murder you, to hunt and destroy you. I could not do that to a friend. And they would have me clean for the picking to accidentally send some friendly fire my way. We are two of their most properly trained individuals, it was only a matter of time before we broke through the illusion and saw the dastardly truth. You broke through before I, but alas, 'tis the fault of living an illusion every moment of your life I suppose." Turning slowly towards Bria. One could well see the desperation in his eyes. "Your family...May already be hunted. They may be questioned, stalked, and tracked constantly, to show any sign of you going to them. I...Apologize. But there is little we can do to save them and you. You, in their unjust eye, have instigated this and they will believe you to have been in this from the start. As you said, you tied the noose around your neck, and left the other end for one to pull. Come with us, and I assure you that to the best of my ability, we will cut the rope of the noose so short, one must be very, very close to pull it. And then, I would place the noose around my neck before it were to break yours." |

| Vincent silently watched to commotion. The doctor, a greed-driven man, was a fire totem. Bria, the lovely girl, a water totem. Odds would have it they'd be at each others necks over the course of their pending journey. The feisty Alexis, she was true to her self. That was important. She'd be the most likely to fight long after hope is lost, a powerful ally. The two Animus. Rei, a young one, versed in Terran culture, but mind barren of knowledge of his own. He would be influenced by the other Avendia, a wise choice by him. Avendia appears to be well-known in he own lands, a warrior of great honor. One could only hope she lives for that honor alone. Her loyalty will not falter until her dying breath, whenever that is to happen, hopefully years down the line and in the heat of battle, just like an Animus would prefer. Kenneth, a good leader, one to draw the masses and protect them. He never did like what Red-eye was doing, now he decided to speak up and act out against them. And me, the keen and potent magician. Mysterious, dashingly handsome, and unpredictable. A background shrouded in bloodshed, terrible, terrible deeds committed by these hands. Vincent gently shook himself out of such deep thought. Catching only the last things said.
"We should leave soon, I feel something is quite amiss. This rain will make for good cover, the safest way out would be through the waterways." He seemed rather troubled for a moment, his face holding no emotion. A cheerful smile broke the troubled look, his eyes still hiding terrible secrets and re-enacting battles long past. "Unless of course you find a problem with that, Ken." |

| Vincent turned towards the Doctor, then Bria. He pulled his cane off the top of his bureau. A very special cane. He tapped it gently on the ground and deposited it somewhere in his coat, it seemingly folding up and fitting snugly in his jacket. From another pocket, he drew a black wand with a white band around the tip. He stuck it abruptly on the bureau and it transformed into an umbrella. He tipped his hat lightly.
"They will have the waterways guarded too, but probably not as strictly as other paths. And we get in through the manhole in the alley across the street from the bar. There's no reason other than escape routes to make us choose such a drab environment. Come now, a brisk walk across the street shall do us nothing but good." Vincent shook his head at his forgetfulness. He pulled an average sized briefcase from below a desk and opened it, revealing a bare leather interior. He whistled sharply and the furniture in the room seemed to spring to life, shrinking and flying into the briefcase. But not just the furniture, the lights in the room, as well as the rugs and curtains all drew into the case as well. With another whistle the old dirty furniture returned to the room and Vincent frowned for but a moment. He taped the top of the briefcase and it too shrunk to the size of a wallet, and after placing it in his coat pocket, he gently opened the door and motioned for the others to exit. "Come now, no need to look at this lowly room with all my grandeur removed." Vincent said with a sly smile. |
