LoL, in response to Kaijin, no, I don't have an idea. Like I said, this idea could work...if we polish certain things.

Sparda simply stared, attempting to restrain himself. This was getting ridiculous. But nevertheless, he'd have to cooperate in order to advance.

"Scenario 1. The Icicle. I'll simply use psychic waves to grasp the the icicle and launch it at my opponent on the other side. As for Scenario 2, I can actually do two things. One is simply use my psychic waves again to freeze the arrows midair. Or, I can simply conjur a great pyrokinetic wave in front of me and launch them at the arrows, rendering them to ashes. Of course, it wouldn't really matter since the arrows can't pierce my mithril chain mail."

Kaijin has been armed with the chakrams.

Weapon Analysis

Scythe
The scythe, originally meant to be an agricultural instrument, has become quite popular due to its assosiation with certain legends and mythological beings such as Father Time and Death. Consisting of a long curved blade attached to a wooden pole, the scythe is known for its ability to make extraordinarily fast and very wide sweeping slashes. By using these sweeping motions, the user is able to execute certain very effective combos, assuming that the proper amount of momentum is applied and used. Due to the design of the weapon, the scythe can even strike at the opponent's back while its user is facing the opponent's front, when done correctly. However, since the blade is all the way on the end of the pole, it occasionally becomes rather awkward to defend and parry. A certain amount of distance is required in order to maintain an effective stance.
Length of pole: 170 cm
Length of blade: 80 cm

Chakram
The chakram was primarily a weapon used by the Indian army. Light and effective, the chakrams were disks, or even half disks, with a blade attached to the outer ends. While primarily used for throwing, the chakrams can also be used for close range combat. Thus, a handle is often provided. The chakrams are quite similar to daggers with the exception of their aerodynamic design, which allows them to be thrown. Because of this, the chakrams are much faster and easier to wield by hand, when slashing. Unfortunately, the chakrams are not nearly as long as most medieval daggers, therefore, it is required for its user to be at very close range in order to be used effectively. The chakrams, when used by hand, focus mainly on speed and agility. When they are thrown, they can be manipulated to curve inwards/outwards or fly straight.
Diameter of a full chakram diskus: 24 inches
Note: Kaijin received two half diskus chakrams.
Note: Kaijin is allowed to throw the chakrams if he decides to do so. However, he is only provided with two chakrams in total.

Alas, am I to do battle in such conditions?

There, through the falling snow

I tried to start something with my Devil May Cry RP but for some reason, it just stopped. It was going pretty well with detailed posts and everything and I had set up all the different paths to Purgatory, Hell, and Heaven. The problem with most RPs on this board is that people tend to lose interest fast. Either that or they simply just stop posting.

I won't mind starting another one...but the problem is...will people be consistent?

DS_MaSTer, what exactly is your board about? That info would be helpful in making a banner relevant to its theme.

Also, Spartan 5150, your banner is near completion. However, due to a lack of good quality pictures that I can use, your banner is slightly customized to be a bit smaller. And also, I was unable to find a picture of a Spartan sniping anybody. A pic of Master Chief will just have to do.

And, this is my opinion so just bear with me, I really don't think RP's based on videogames or movies will be that great. I know Xeo Emblem was, but only loosly. I think that an RP could INVOLVE characters from games or other things, if the person RPing as that character feels that they can't think of a character thats fitting enough. But I'd really try to stray away from things like that. If we're going for a memorable story, I think it'd be a lot more satisfying for the participants to create their own world, characters, and story.

I'll give my own imaginative 2 cents.

We should decide on whether or not we do this:

- In the real world, or a made up one. I have ideas for a made up world, if thats what most people want to go for.
- Future, past, present. I guess it would depend on our choice of setting, as the actual place. Also, this would depend on what our characters are like. If we have a wide variety of characters (from demon, to angel, to human, and beyond), that would also depend on where and when it is.

Lets see what we can think up.

For the RP vets of XGF, most will remember the "Unusual Beginnings" RP I started which was really a smash hit in the RP Realm. It was pretty much as best as it got during the pre-Innocence Gone period. It just goes to show you that the real world is also not such a bad idea for an RP theme despite the fact that it stressed certain supernatural elements.

The thing I originally hated to see was demons and angels in every single damn RP. Now, it's some kind of rebellion or armed group against this evil corporation/government in every single damn RP. To be absolutely honest, it's getting kind of old. Somebody's got to come up with something new if they're still going to do the whole futuristic rebellion "let's overthrow the government" RP.

Also, RPs based on video games, contrary to what J Literal said, can be quite good. The DMC Rp lasted for a good 7 pages with decent detailed posts. Had the participants not suddenly given up on it, it probably would have spanned three times that. You just need to find a good videogame to base it off of.

And finally, the case is not "let's see what we can come up with". Most RPers can take care of that point just fine. It's a matter of activity. If you can promise me activity, I can promise a hit.

It was insanely popular. Yes; the whole "rebellion"theme is getting kinda old; people tried to emulate the Innocence Gone vibe, and failed miserably. Now the theme seems to be wars (which I admittedly kicked off). My only wish is for Innocence Gone to be properly finished, like it should've been, and not killed off so ungloriously.

I'm sorry, but that's just scary. It almost seems to me that you're going to commit suicide because that RP was closed. You seriously may want to think it over. It's just an RP. RPs come and go. Killed off so ungloriously? Perhaps every single one of my RPs were killed off ungloriously. At least 60% of them were great if not good RPs that could have gotten somewhere. If you're so desperate for another RP like it, why not just make your own?

Oh, and I refuse to admit anything. =P I took one look at that RP and hated it. ^_~

A little sad? Seems like you were destroyed from my point of view. But regardless, like I said before, if you're desperate for another hit RP, then why not attempt to start your own? You've seen something you like in Innocence Gone. Why not try to absorb it and make it your own work but creating something that's unique yet does justice to its predecessor?

My name is Eric H. Squier. My friends call me...or used to call me El Mariachi. Yeah I know, it's a load of bullshit. I'm not even Mexican but they figured they'd call me that since I love playing the guitar. But regardless, they are no longer alive. All of them, wiped out. All I remember about myself is my first name, my skills with the guitar, my deceased girlfriend...and my skills with a gun. My middle initial is simply her last name and my last name is the name of the only brand of guitars I can remember before the incident. Now that we've been acquainted properly, allow me to introduce the situation.

You're not looking at some government overthrow bullshit or some ridiculous conflict between two nations and/or sides. Please, that stuff is probably the most ridiculous shit I've ever heard of in my life. Government overthrows, wars, elections...they're all run the same way...by a secret underground council first founded by the Americans. Why the fuck do you think they stayed a world power and no one else didn't? Anyway, here's how the story goes...

Oh fuck it, the story sucks. Lemme just brief you on what you need to know. Somebody screwed up. Screwed up big time. That underground council I told you about? Well, they were getting scared that another council was being formed and would wage a war against them. So they started experimenting. Bio weapons, bio-engineered experiments...the lot. But like I said, someone screwed up. What wasn't supposed to be released 20 years later was released. And because of that, 85% of the world, not the population, but the world died. They tried to pass it off as Bird Flu, but the smart ones knew that was utterly bullshit.

People died. The lands that were killed were replaced with skyscrapers by the council so that they could 'cover up' their destruction. Unfortunately for them, it was too late. The bacteria...they somehow evolved. Faster than humans could ever dream of. They became creatures...bloody, aggressive, smart, strong. What was left of the human population was to be left as prey for these beasts. The council could do nothing about it. Pretty soon, they were wiped out.

So where do I come into this pic? Well, here it is in a nutshell. Before the council was completely destroyed, it managed to inject several people with a certain vaccination. Made them immune to the bacteria. Pretty much, they were forced to clean up the shit the council left behind and save what was left of the dying world. I'm one of them.

The good thing about the vaccination? Made me immune to the poisons the monsters spewed. Gave me unusual stamina.

The bad thing? Wiped me of my memories...well most of them. I'm not sure if it was the same for everybody though...

So here I am. My name is Eric. I play the guitar. I can shoot guns like trained fighter. I didn't want the job...but doesn't look like I have much of a choice. My job is to get rid of the scum the council left behind and see just how far they went. You may not know me...so you can call me Mariachi.

Rules:
No swords.
Reasonable names.
Do not speed up time unconsiderably.
Feel free to throw in whatever you'd like...just don't go overboard

Name: Eric
Codename: Mariachi
Weapons: ??? (all are stored in his guitar case)

Note: All players must eventually meet in New York City. They may start wherever they'd like but eventually must go to New York City as the final destination. Not a major priority...but a necessary plot aid.

Eric sat upon the rubble that was his home, just on the outskirts of Manhattan. He was quiet as he observed the surroundings, running his slender right hand through his black spikey hair. His dark brown eyes darted from the right to left, checking to see if he was alone. It was so. In his left hand, he held his favorite guitar, a black Fender guitar, well polished and taken care of, strapped over his shoulder. Placed delicately to his right side was another large rectangular guitar case....a heavy one at that.

He wasn't very tall nor was he very short. He was simply a young man of average height, possibly 24 or 25 years of age. He wore a pair of studded, black, leather pants, a white undershirt, and a black dress shirt. A single silver chain hung loosely around his neck. He quietly just sat there as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a black pick, beginning to strum the nylon strings of his guitar. He seemed quite accustomed to all the rubble around him.

Suddenly, a wild, maniacal scream erupted from a short distance away. Eric froze, his right hand stuck midair with his black pick held loosely between his thumb and index finger. He sighed as he lightly placed the pick inbetween his lips and opened up the guitar case with his right hand. Within a few seconds, his right hand came out grasping the handle of a .45 magnum, fully loaded.

He sat there, guitar in left hand, magnum in right...and waited.

Weapon Analysis
Two Handed Long Sword

A late medieval arming sword also known as the Bastard Sword. As the name implies, this sword weilds a blade that is much longer than those of other swords such as the gladius and the broadsword. While technically this sword can be wielded with just one hand, it is very rare when its user is not armed with a shield as well due to its weight. When handled properly, the long sword proves to be extremely formidable in terms of defense, offense, and parries. However, since it is so much heavier than most other swords, extreme caution must be exerted when executing techniques for they are likely to leech off more energy from the user than any other bladed weapon.
Length of blade- 5'

Chinese Broad Sword

A special single edged sword, sporting a curved blade, that is used mainly for chopping and slashing, un like it's Western counterparts which seemed to rely more on thrusting and stabbing. Light and easy to handle, the Chinese Broad Sword was swift and powerful in terms of offense and parrying. Due to its design however, defense often seemed to be the department that was most lacking. This sword is wielded only by one hand, allowing for quicker movements and execution. However, in such a case, it also meants it becomes easily overpowered in a weapon deadlock.
Length of blade- 3'

Alas...the fog is clearing up a bit...

"This bullshit is really pissing me off."

Eric muttered to himself as he slowly stood up, brushing away the dust that collected on his studded leather pants. He looked around one last time with those calm dark brown eyes of his, almost hauntingly. He saw nothing but destruction and ruin. He spat onto the ground and slammed his guitar case shut with his right foot.

"Waiting for these SOBs is really not what I call cooperative."

With what seemed to be all the time in the world, he readjusted his guitar strap so that the guitar was behind his back, and not in his way. He took the small black pick between his lips and slipped them into one of his many pockets. In fact, his entire pair of pants seemed to be made of pockets. He reached into another one of the pockets and pulled a small silver CD player, complete with headsets. He began to slip on the headsets over his ears before he heard another scream...or rather a screech...one that a human was not capable of.

"Oh fuck me. Guess I'll have to handle clean up duty here by myself."

He turned the CD player on and set the volume to max as the hard rock music from the headset escaped his ears and flooded into the wasteland. With that done, he picked up his guitar case and began to advance forward, not missing a step as his black boots made soft crunching noises against the small pieces of debris.

Eric made note of an unusual looking pile of debris that laid before him in a perfect mound. Obviously not the product of warfare. He sighed and without any warning, lifted his right arm and let loose a single round right at the mound of debris. The noise from the magnum was amazing...even he could hear it through the music. The round that left the gun hit one side of the the mound and came flying out the other. Instantly, the ground began to shake as if he just woke up a giant.

"Here we go.."

Eric didn't seem to hear anything that was going on. In fact, it seemed that he didn't even see anything that occured. As the hard rock music pounded in his ears, he simply stepped about, twirling the heavy magnum in his hands like an expert marksman. He skillfully dodged the monsters as Missy and Jack took them down, careful not to damage his guitar. It was rather reckless behavior on his part to have his music turned on so loud, but he didn't seem to care...at all.

Suddenly, the earth stopped shaking and from the original mound in which Eric shot at, a being jumped forth. The hole from the mound seemed to be like some kind of ant hole, a place where all the monsters seemed to be 'spawning' as they rushed forth. However, this creature seemed to be different. For one, it resembled a great spider. It's body was nearly twice the size of that of an average human. However, where it's head was supposed to be, there was the great torso and head of a humanoid being. Sticking out from the abdomen seemed to be an endless display of eyes. Truly a gruesome creature, with its hairy legs, gray skin, and it's yellow human torso, covered in blood, screeching.

"Oh fuck, you're an ugly one."

These words seemed to grab the creature's attention as the human head suddenly twisted to the right, in what seemed to be an impossible feat, and stared at Eric with its bright yellow eyes. It made ready to charge at Eric with its claws extended as it let out another hideous screech. However, it seemed that Eric didn't hear any of it. The screech was enough to completely paralyze the man, especially at such close range, but no such thing occured. Perhaps the headsets were placed there on purpose?

"You know about armor piercing bullets?"

The monster waited for no response as it dashed forward on all 8 legs, making a soft clicking sound for each step it took. Eric raised his right arm, the magnum pointed right at the beast.

"These are much better."

And with that, he fired off two rounds, once again, the sound of the bullets spreading throughout the entire wasteland. It seemed as if time froze, for the beast stood there, a mere few inches away from Eric. Small amounts of smoke made its way out of the barrel of the magnum as a great fountain of black blood erupted from the forehead of the beast. It collapsed, flinching and twitching like all spiders did when crushed before ceasing to move completely.

Suddenly, more movements underground. More earthquakes.

Eric immediately dropped his guitar case and swung it open with his foot. Without wasting a second, he pulled out a small hand grenade. With what seemed to be a single swift motion, he pulled out the pin with his thumb and tossed it into the hole of the mound. Almost instantaneously, the grenade exploded and screeches could be heard underground as the blast shook the earth one final time.

People have been raving about this game all over the place. Non stop, all I've been hearing is how incredible and great Guitar Hero is supposed to be. So one day, my friend picks up a copy...or rather the entire $60 (or is it cheaper? Didn't really ask him) package. I mean, we both love playing the guitar so we figure we could give this game a shot.

I'll be absolutely honest...if you play a guitar, do not get this game. Honestly, it gets extraordinarily boring very quick. 5 buttons hardly seem enough, no matter what song you're playing. It just feels very childish, IMO.

Of course, I cannot honestly say what the game would be like for someone who doesn't play a guitar. I guess it'd probably be a good game for those who simply want to have a good time, without DDR.

K, those were my 2 cents.

Actually, I'm a little curious as to what I should do first.

Drizzt has failed to post within 3 days of Guardian Oni's last post. However, Guardian Oni's last post was in violation of the 3 day rule as well.

But the fact that Drizzt has failed to post makes me wonder who I am to DQ.

This fight is closed. I will announce the winner shortly.

Edit:

Drizzt is the winner since GuardianOni was the first to break the 3 day grace period rule.
