In my opinion, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children should not be considered a stand alone video game movie. Instead, it should be seen sort of like an expansion. Think Final Fantasy X: Another Story (come to think of it, Another Story took place 2 years after the original game as well ). The storyline is pretty mediocre. The action is great but as mentioned before, a bit cheesy. Only by pairing this with the original game will it be actually satisfying because all the character development happened in the game. Most of this was just fanfare anyway.

Rude was so cool. ^.^

Spoiler:

Forget what you said Xeo, answer these...
1) What is that white wolf thing that appears every so often in the movie? My guess is that it's Django..but that wouldn't make much sense.
2) When Barret jumps in to protect Denzel from Bahamut, he says "Protect your mother here". But the thing is, the only woman close by is Tifa. When Barret says "mother", does he refer to Tifa?

Spoiler:

1) first of all, Zack was one of Cloud's best friends back when he was still alive.
2) Aeris and Zack are lovers.
I think that should be reason enough to show him at the end.

Azrael placed his left hand upon the steel door and stood very still as if trying to 'listen' to it. He neither blinked or moved as he simply waited as his eyes focused onto the enscriptions upon the door. It certainly bore a very unique design in that there were two magnificent carvings of chimera creatures upon the doors with what seemed to be a small cup placed at the very center of the door, much like a keyhole for a key.

"I am the door to mortality. Only the pure of blood can open me."

Azrael slowly withdrew his hand and stared at the small cup at the center of the door. He shrugged and drew out his right longsword from its sheath. Without seemingly any hesitation, he pressed the edge of the blade against his left palm, causing some of his red blood to seep out. He held out his hand over the cup, allowing his blood to drop into it. At first, nothing happened. However, after a few moments, the carvings on the door began glowing as the blood was drained into the door from the cup. The chimeras, becoming animated, seemed to roar at each other as the door remained shut, refusing the blood of Azrael.

"Hm...."

He slowly turned to Katana with his longsword still in hand.

"It rejects the blood of the impure. That means we'll need your blood to open this cursed door."

1) I think the game was called Snake's nightmare or something like that where you run around with a sword, slashing zombies and other...stuff. Yeah, I never played it but this is what I've heard from others. And you access this game during the part of the game where Snake is locked up in a cell, after losing his eye. I believe you have to save in the cell and then turn the game off. When you turn it back on, you are automatically taken to the hidden game since saving is the equivelant of sleeping in MGS3.

Yeah. The whole retirement thing was just so people could just back off for a while so that I could take a break. Anyway, for now, I'm only willing to issue challenges, I still may not accept challenges due to the limited amount of free time I have available to me.

I am welcome all challengers except...
1) Kaijin (because I'm just not in the mood...yet)
2) Leviathan (like I said, I'll only battle you during my winter break and after the full completion of my profile)

Rules: Standard Tournament Rules

Special Custom Addition to Rules: You may use only one type of summon throughout the entirety of the match. You may summon that one summon as many times as you wish (assuming you can handle the stress) but you may not summon any other type of creature.

Post Absence Limit: 3 days

Special note: You screw up, you automatically lose. I've been too generous in the past. None of that anymore.

It was a dark and gloomy day as Mother Nature cried in the heavens, sending her sad tears crashing down against the dry, cold grasslands that yearned for her nourishments. The sky cuddled herself against the embrace of a dark cloudy blanket, rejecting the sun's warm embrace to the ground. The rain seemed neverending, its reach...everlasting. Each drop that fell to the ground instantly disappeared into the dry soil as the small blades of yellow grass thirstily took in mother nature's sadness into itself, restoring its life force with her energy. There were so many presences present upon that once-blessed field....the sky, the clouds, the sun, the blades of grasses...and another.

The presence was like a sinking feeling in one's heart, as if foreshadowing something great and evil that was to come. Darker and more gloomy than the dark sky, it instilled and bred fear and a sense of panic into body and soul. It was so unfortunate for that realm and planet to have to experience such a painful feeling, but if not that particular era, time, and place, what other dimension would house such a destructive being? As if sensing this great fear, the sky held the blanket of dark clouds closer to her, darkening the grasslands even more. A most gloomy day and a most fitting place...for him.

Gasps of pain and hardship began to echo throughout the entire field, though there was nothing around to actually bounce the soundwaves of those gasps back and forth. It wasn't even logical...but it still happened. But what strange phenomenon was this? Who's presence could stir such a change in a once peaceful place? Yet, whatever it was, this presence was obviously the reason why no creature or living thing for that matter dared to stir, as they anticipated his inevitable arrival.

Mother nature's tears would soon be turned into blood...
The grasses would soon feed on another living thing's life force rather than nature's...
And their leaves would be stained with red...

Posted on 09-24-05 04:30 PM, in Best of the Best Sparda VS Leon Link
Sparda seemed frozen in his position as he simply looked at Leon as he underwent his transformation. The winds blew at his black cloak as Sparda's dark brown eyes seemed focus on Leon. Yet, what his opponent didn't know was that even though Sparda wasn't moving, he certainly didn't mean he wasn't acting in his plan. As Leon began flexing his entire body, flaring the energy behind him, Sparda was already doing something upon the ground. The shards that Leon had deflected earlier would soon come to haunt him again as Sparda used his psychic powers to bring them all together and the ground and fusing them into one mighty diamond+ shard, using alchemy to fuse the substances together.

It was really a pity to see that Leon would soon be dead. The fight would be much shorter than he expected...a very disappointing fight. His opponent certainly seemed to be lacking greatly now in skill. His ego and pride was probably the cause of this. The small diamond shard levitated a few inches above the sandy ground but emitted no unique energy [ this because no extra forces had been exerted on it yet other than Sparda's psychic waves].

As his demonic opponent grasped the chain with his newly formed left arm, the greatly advanced 'crystal' [a term to be used lightly] shards had completed their full fusion into each other, forming a much larger shard, roughly fifteen inches in length and seven inches in width with a edges just as deadly, if not much more, than before. Even if the edges weren' t sharp, it wouldn't matter at all. When the black energy began flaring from Leon's body, Sparda used his psychic powers to lightly but quickly place the large 'crystal' shard behind Leon's head, exactly one foot from it. Sparda began chuckling in his mind as he launched it right at Leon's head, nearly at point blank range just as Leon's katana appeared in his hand.

The 'crystal' shard, with an immense aid from Sparda's psychic powers, was launched at the back of Leon's head, from twelve inches away, at an amazing 200 fps [slightly greater than before] would definitely be the end of his opponent. In fact, he was so sure of it that Sparda was willing to sacrifice all his psychic powers for a while just to launch the 'crystal' at such a close range. The moment the shard was launched, Sparda thrown back onto the ground, no longer able to maintain his levitation due to a throbbing sensation in his mind. Luckily for him, the red aura did literally nothing to his body due to the fact that it was apparently lacking greatly in strength and intensity.

All the while, it was practically impossible for Leon to even sense the shard that was launched or placed behind him due to the massive amounts of energy he was exerting.

Special note:
The transition from placing the shard behind your head and launching it at you was exactly 3 picoseconds.

Special Note: The large 'crystal' shard was formed behind you.

With his opponent upon the field, the man with the scabbard and the orange hair, he finally decided to show himself. As the great beating of the rain against the ground grew stronger and greater, the earth shook once and suddenly stopped. And then, it shook again and stopped again. It repeated this for about a minute or so until it stopped completely. It certainly wasn't a natural disturbance of the crust of the planet's body and it was made very apparent in a few seconds.

From out of the darkness, a single dark figure emerged...or rather appeared. As dark as it was, one was able to tell that his features and his attires were completely covered by a single magnificent black cloak that covered his entire figure: body and face. He seemed to be nothing more than a single omnipotent shadow with a massive instrument of death and war strapped to his back. Indeed, it truly seemed to be a most effective instrument for its long blade seemed fresh with blood.

As a whole, the weapon extended to an amazing six feet, nearly as long as its master was tall. His head was bowed low, keeping his face and his head dry from the merciless rain. Yet, by some strange outer force from an even more mysterious power, his black cloak seem to give off the sense that it was completely dry despite the raging weather. Indeed, this was a gloomy yet dark figure indeed...much like the current atmosphere and weather.

He didn't even bother to look up at his opponent as he commanded that the creator of such phenomenons come forth. This man wasn't even worth answering. Therefore, he kept silent...dead silent making the whole situation very eerie.

Indeed, his opponent's horizontal slash was as swift as it was strong and his swords was certainly a very formidable weapon. However, it was quite unfortunate that Alex's charge was not as fast as his attack. In fact, he practically told Sparda exactly what he was doing when he began to charge forward. Because of this, the black figure was already begining to prepare his first move and perhaps the only move he needed to make. After all, at the speed in which Alex was charging, he had enough time to prepare something that could end it all right there before five minutes could pass.

Seeing Alex already throwing the slash, Sparda took a step back, angling to his right a bit so that he was out of range of swordplay range. However, as he did so, his glowing left hand suddenly shot out, his index finger pointed at Alex's head. Because he had stepped to the right, his left hand was closer to Alex's head than his right hand was...perfect for his next attack. When Sparda had drawn out his hand and pointed his finger at his opponent, Alex was already about halfway done with his slash. However, the moment the index finger was aimed at Alex's head, not another picosecond was wasted before Sparda unleashed Decimate 2 right at Alex's head, at its minimum speed, from nearly point blank range [depending on the length of your sword].

Decimate1- This ability is a very unique ability and very deadly though it is lacking in some areas. Sparda shoots his hand forward with his index finger pointing at the opponent, or anything else. Using a combination of pure psyche energy as well as his own ability to ‘excrete’ energy in any ‘physical form’, Sparda unleashes a strictly non-elemental beam that is only one micrometer in width [The shape is maintained by Sparda’s telekinesis to ensure that the energy waves that compose the beam do not move out of place. The small width of the beam allows for the technique to travel extraordinarily fast without much resistance]. Though it travels only in a perfect straight line, its power is devastating, literally able to penetrate anything and everything (except for very rare and extremely extraordinary occasions) due to the speed at which it travels [approximately 160fps+ (more if stated otherwise)]. Penetration is guaranteed 99% of the time due to the combination of speed as well as accuracy [plus the width of the beam] in which Decimate is launched. Reflecting this attack is virtually impossible due to the telekinesis that is applied onto the beam to ensure that the waves never move out of place.

Decimate2- In many ways, Decimate2 is exactly the same as Decimate1. In fact, the only differences between the two attacks are the dramatic changes in speed, width, and composition. In terms of width, the beam is expanded to one centimeter. In terms of speed, the minimum speed in which the beam can travel is approximately 200fps+ [this, however, can be increased depending on how much psychic energy is used to launch the beam.] However, the main difference between Decimate 2 and Decimate1 is the composition of the beam in Decimate2. While the beam of Decimate1 is simply a non-elemental beam existing on the plane of existence in which the fight takes place, the beam of Decimate2 essentially exists only on a part of the plane of that existence. This attack is based off of the Law of One Divided Plane, a proven theory of his time in the land of Ulgath [this law is fictional]. The law stated that while one thing can exist on one plane, certain parts of that one thing can exist on a separate part of that one plane if the plane were to be divided. For example, a fighter dressed in armor and sword exists only one plane. However, the sword and the fighter’s armor exists on one plane, the plane being that of those that are not living and the fighter would exist on another plane, the plane being that of those that are living. When these two sub-planes are combined together, they form the present plane, containing both living and non-living things. The planes are differentiated by the specific life forces that every thing [living and non living] exerts. It is because of this law that Decimate2 is so deadly. Because Sparda is capable of tapping into whatever plane he wishes to [due to the necessity of a divinity being able to tap into the different realms], he is also capable of tapping into a sub-plane. In the case of Decimate2, the beam is formed, not in the plane if existence, but in the sub-plane of living things. In other words, the beam is unaffected by anything in the sub-plane of non living things [such as armor, shields, etc.] Therefore, the beam will not come into contact with anything but the opponent’s unprotected body. However, due to the extensive energy needed for such a sudden burst attack, its accuracy is extraordinarily limited when shot at something beyond eight feet of the source in which the beam was unleashed. Also, because launching the beam and tapping into the sub-plane both require massive amounts of concentration, Sparda’s psychic powers are completely shot for approximately fourturns [not including the opponent’s].

Because the beam is now approximately one centimeter in width and launched at 200fps at near point blank range, it will result in a instant kill in your case sense the beam will penetrate your skin, skull, and brain completely, destroying every single neuron in your brain as a chain reaction of the beam destroying thousands as it is.

Here are the reasons why I [not necessarily the same as Kaijin's] chose Shuyin as the winner.

I felt that you were too reliant on the whole robotic 'status check' system where you were constantly checking your current status and enviroment status and occasionally the opponent's staus. While this was certainly very fresh and unique, it seemed to me that you relied on it too much in each of your simbattle posts. I mean, anybody can show off their statuses and such but to be able to do that as well as give a detailed description of one's actions is a totally different issue. I felt that while you were certain different in using statuses, you simply didn't give enough on everything else. For example, your attack descriptions were very vague and hardly explained its role in the battle as a whole. In fact, most of your descriptions were pretty vague. When compared to Shuyin's posts, I felt that he proved to be a more aggressive and effective fighter in that round. In short, I simply felt that some of your descriptions were a bit lacking.

The rocky area, decorated with grand cliffs stood proudly upon earth, creating large shadows upon the lower grounds. Like great massive stairs that lead only halfway to heaven, they were truly majestic in their own sense. Isolated from human contact, this place was a sacred one.

High upon one of the grander cliffs stood a being who gazed at this majestic beauty in solemn silence. The sun, neither extraordinarily hot or brutal, gave him a truly great shadow...something that reflected his inner self. Certainly, this strange figure seemed greatly out of place in such a place which would soon evolve to become a battlefield.

Standing at his full height of about six feet, he watched quietly, with those dark brown eyes of his, a young humanoid make his way into the area. A small gust blew from the sky, blowing at his long black spikey hair and his magnificent black cloak which covered the entirety of his body, with the exception of his head.

His attire alone gave one the sense that he was indeed synonymous with the shadows. But he wasn't just a shadow. One could tell that he was much more just by seeing the massive instrument of destruction he strapped to his back: a six feet sword that was nearly as long as he was tall. Truly a dangerous and menacing weapon, its cold seemingly steel blade still fresh with red blood.

Staring at the young boy, this dark cloaked figure immediately knew he wasn't human. It wasn't because of his appearance, for his likeness to a human being was nearly flawless, but the presence that he emitted from his inner self. It wasn't anything he had seen or felt before on this planet. But nevertheless, he stood there unmoving, watching the boy, biding his time.

As a matter of fact, I did notice but I never replied because honestly, your attack makes no sense. You swing your sword horizontally, which is to say left to right or vice versa, and yet you somehow manage to find the momentum to duck? That is pretty much impossible, given the circumstances you have been placed in. How do you use a sideways momentum to go up/down? And the fact that you said it didn't go against your horizontal swing makes your post even more senseless. If you're ducking, that should imply your whole body since ducking your head won't do anything for you. However, you're still in the middle of your horizontal slash. If you were to actually duck, it would almost definitely interrupt your entire slash completely since 1) your sword and arms would be in the way and 2) there really isn't any momentum to speak of for you to use to duck.

And also, I'm pretty sure I said that if you screw up once, you automatically lose.

Certainly.

Here's how I judged the fights...

Basically, it was made very clear that each fight would have only 2 weeks to commence and progress before their inevitable closing; at this point, the judges would come in and decide who would prove to be the victor in each match. While I certainly agree that pacing oneself is very necessary in any fight, not just tournament ones, it was also important to remember that one was fighting under very limited time [ two weeks is hardly enough to dish out anything, in my opinion, unless a fighter goes all out in just one post which is often impossible]. My decision is based on how effectively each fighter used his/her time and whether he/she wasted time during the fight.

Now, honestly, I did not like the Jade vs. Elyk fight at all because there was too much dialogue and babbling going on. One fighter waits for the other to attack, vice versa. It made it impossible to decide who was using his/her time more effectively because both fighters were pretty much wasting it. It's not like I think dialogue in simbattles are bad, it's just that in this kind of situation, I think that dialogue is something that can be done without.

Now, back to what I was saying about the fight. In my view, Elyk would have definitely won the match had the time limit been longer than two weeks. I found that his pacing would have been extraordinarily effective later on in the match had it been allowed to proceed. But the fact of the matter was...the match was 'officially' ended on the 21st since it started on the 7th. Given this information, I analyzed the overall performances of both fighters and decided that under the circumstances that were provided to both characters, Jade's actions were most effective in the simbattle. When I say action, I do not limit it to simply attacks but rather anything a fighter does in the simbattle.

Hope this clears it up somewhat. If not, i'll just continue...if I can.

His eyes never left the boy as he took a single step forward, his black boots leaving the safety of the summit. Gravity should have taken effect, its undeniable strength pulling on him like a speeding locomotive, but it did not. Instead, this strange cloaked figure simply 'flew' to the ground with a very graceful and unhuman like manner. As his body slowly advanced down the cliff as if he were gliding, the wind blew at his cloak, causing its tails to flap. The shadows that were created underneath him on the ground below were like foul unpure beasts, struggling to escape hell.

His black boots softly touched the hard, dry summit of another lower cliff, the gap between the two beings approximately twenty feet. His was truly a most unusual yet terrifying persona for though he was no undead or foul beast, only one word could describe the emotion that he instilled into nearly everything around him: chaos. It was as if his mere presence was able to bring about insanity: a horrifying trait.

Those dark brown eyes of his glared at the young being as if they were boring into his mind and soul, if there was such a thing present within the humanoid. His thin lips remained unmoving but a single whispered word managed to reach the being's ears: Sparda. It certainly couldn't be sound waves of any sort for he had not moved a single muscle to create noise. Rather, this man who identified himself as Sparda used his mind to send what he wanted to say to this being telepathically.

"This is your last chance to go home."

Dialogue in italics are telepathic messages sent to the opponent using the mind.
