| "Oh...okay." Holly says happily as she straightens up her posture and continues walking. She cast a quick glance back at Jeremy. "It'll be alright for tomorrow, won't it?" She asks. "I promise, I'll cover for you sometime this week so you can go off and do whatever you'd like, is that alright?"

| Holly turned to Brad, cocked her head to the side and smiled. "I don't care too much to work with them either. They're quite the arrogant bunch, aren't they?" She says with the same playfullness she had just moments ago. Though, she had to admit to herself that she didn't mind the people that were around now, whether they were Marinae or not.
She then turned her attention to Jeremy. "Almost nine already?" She inquired. "Shit, that's not late..." She flashed him a grin before turning to Eric's direction. Once she caught up with him, she walked beside him. Briefly, she stole a glance at Henry and then continued looking forward. She liked it where they were. A little too cold for her tastes, but the air felt much cleaner than any place she had ever been. |

| Holly looked up at Eric, a bit suprised that he had spoken up without being spoken to. She smiled. "Well of course he's alright. The stubborn bastard won't have any less I suppose..." She says, her voice trailing off a bit. She shifted nervously for a second. She hoped that no one was really paying any attention to her as she took off the vest that Eric had given her. She then picked up her pace a little and got in front of Eric. She turned, walking backward yet again. With a graceful motion, she draped the vest over Henry and then steped out of Eric's path. She turned again so that she was walking forward, and slowed down until she was at Eric's side again.
She looked up at him with a devilish grin and whispered. "Shhh....don't tell anyone." |

**dies laughing** This is great...considering that I don't particularly care for O'Reilly...but don't count my opinion. I've been influenced by that "Out Foxed" video and haven't heard anything in Bill's favor, so I really can't compare and make a sound judgement. :p

Holly sighed. She caught a strand of hair that had gone astray and fallen in front of her face. Before tossing it behind her, she examined it for a moment. Jet black. The only physical trait she and her father really shared, although his has more gray to it now. Everything else that was her's belonged to her mother as well.

Once she and Eric were away from everyone else just enough for her to speak softly without anybody else hearing, she finally spoke up. "I guess you could call it a 'falling out'" she replies, tossing the strand back so that it cascaded down to her waist with the rest of her black hair. "I have very few memories of him as a child. I mean, I remember him a lot, but being locked up in his office with his back toward the door...I don't count those as memories." Holly paused and looked up at Eric. "You see...he was in the United States Marines before all of this shit with the shards began. He was a little older than my mother to begin with, so by the time I came along, he was already up there in the ranks...but still young enough to be hardcore." Holly giggled as she made her last statement but sighed yet again as soon as the smile faded. "We moved a lot. I remember that much. My mother preferred it because it meant that she had him home more, but...he was always either cooped up in his office or he was out working. When he wasn't doing either of those things...I did nothing right, I'll put it to you that way. " Holly shrugged. "I was thirteen when the shards came and shortly after that, everything had crashed and separated itself into those damned factions. Naturally, Henry chose the Marinae...and that ate up his time even more. Within that first year, my mother got sick. With Henry doing his thing all the time, I stayed at home with her. He'd come home once in a while, but it seemed as though he avoided us like the plague. He never let me in the room with them those few occasions in which they were together...and whenever he came out, he always seemed extremely aggrivated. I knew by then to just stay out of his way when he was in a mood like that." She brought up her arm and held onto her wrist, the one with the bracelet and her shard on it. "I don't know how, but she got a hold of this shard. I imagine someone gave it to her. Henry and I weren't the only people she saw while she was sick...but she gave it to me the day she died. She said that it was important to her that I had it...that was all she really said to me though. She spent the rest of the afternoon calling for Henry. He never came of course, not even after he was called for by one of the nurses." She looked up at Eric again. "I guess that's when the resentment really started. I was fourteen at the time and didn't understand why he wasn't there taking care of his wife. Then, once she died, I had to live in the Marinae HQ with him. He still wasn't around as much, but constantly had one of the other Marinae with me, or at least nearby...I couldn't do anything without him knowing about it, and as I've said before...I did nothing right. We fought constantly and he relentlessly tried getting me to side with the Marinae...eventually I got so sick of it, I found a way to just up and leave. I was sixteen at that time...that was around when I met up with Josiah..." She then grew silent. She cringed as she remembered what their arguments had been like...Goddamn it... she thought to herself. "I'm sorry..." She finally said. "Believe me...that was more or less the short version...but I've said too much..." A soft smile found a place across her lips. She lowered her voice much more than she had already. "Of course, I think I understand him more now...why he acted the way he did...I just can't admit that to just anyone yet..." She mumbles.

Holly caught something out of the corner of her eye. It was Seifer, moving past everyone to get to the house. She glanced up at Eric and shrugged as she too picked up her pace and made it to the house shortly after Seifer.

Her boots clicked softly as she walked across the porch. However, she didn't go inside quite yet. He hasn't been here in so long... she thought to herself. Better give him some time to take it all in again I suppose... With her back to the door, she moved to her right, allowing room for the others to pass through once they got there. Most of the sky was dark by then but not entirely. Surrounding the hills was a soft firey glow. She hadn't seen anything like this as far as she could remember, so Holly decided to remain outside until it had all faded. She sat down on the old wood carefully, making sure there wasn't any stray pieces in the area she had chosen. Placing her hands flat behind her and crossing her legs straight out in front, Holly tilted her head back to watch everything blend together. It's pretty... she thought. Where it had already turned dark, she could see some of the stars, and the glow behind the hills was extinguishing much more rapidly now. Soon, the sky had become uniform. The entire thing was dark.

When Alex didn't reply to her question, Eevie sat quietly. When they were given the meals, she ate without protest. The ride itself didn't do much to jar her stomach. She was sure to eat a bit slowly while they did have the chance and neatly folded everything back up once she was finished. She glanced over at Alex once more and sighed.

Her attention was now drawn toward Darien as he spoke, giving them a heads up on what was about to come. Not that bad... she thought. She was extremely relieved at the mention of getting some sort of practice in before the action.

"New assignment?" She asked. She shifted her weight to her right arm so that she could shove her dark bangs out of her dark blue eyes. Once the hair was removed, she shifted her weight back onto both arms, only to have her bangs fall back into her face once more.

Holly huffed and blew the hair from her eyes as she turned around to face Eric completely. Now she sat "Indian style" and folded her hands together, resting them on the sides of her legs. "May I ask what kinda of assignment you have now?"

"Eric, sir...Josiah just wants my shard...that's all." She announced. Once again, she switched her position. She was now on her knees, leaning back on her heels. Her hands were now balled into fists and resting at her knees.

"On the base...at the same time...?" Her voice trailed off. For some reason the thought made her stomach churn. He's so smart... she thought to herself.

"It isn't his strength that I find to be the frightening part..." She confesses. "He's too smart..." Holly placed her fingers to her temples and rubbed them softly. "I won't give him the shard, sir." She says finally. "I won't let him have it...so you don't have to worry about that." Once again she changed her position. She reverted back to her "Indian-style", folding her hands just as she did before. Holly lowered her gaze to the floor, contemplating. She sat like that for a few moments, before letting out a gasp. "Eric...he wants my shard!" She exclaimed. Before her voice was soft. The sudden change of sound startled her for a second. A blush had crept across her cheeks. "Sorry." She says, speaking in the soft tone she had before. "You know what that means, right?" She says. Her blush had faded and in it's place was a grin.

Holly sighed. "Well...I don't think he's doing this because he's bored...he has gone out of his way and seems to have an objective." She replies.

"I also highly doubt that he has any reason to get us in particular together. I can see reason for the leaders of the factions...but honestly, not the rest of us, to be honest...however..." She paused. She leaned forward and carefully reached for the cigarette. She caught hold it it far enough from the tip that she didn't get burned and yanked it out of Eric's grasp. "Those things are bad for your health you know." Holly says. She rose to her feet and dropped the cigarette. Quickly the put the flame out with her boot and then plopped right back down. "Anyway...it means Josiah has some sort of weakness. Think about it. As far as I know, the shard only does two things. One, it has protected those under it's shield, and two, it can heal. I've only seen it once, but once is enough..." She paused to gather the rest of her thoughts. "Why would he want something that could protect him? Better yet, why would he want something that can heal him? If he was indestructable, then why would he need to be concerned about being healed or protected?" She sighed. "I know it isn't much information...but it's better than feeling like he is invincible and there's nothing we can do...and he seems desperate to get it...so...there you have it. Josiah has a weakness. To me at least, just knowing that is a lot better than feeling like he is invincible..."

Holly's entire body slumped a bit. "Way to shoot me down." She says with a smirk. She put both hands over her heart and leaned to the side as though she were shot.

"True, no one is invincible...but one as smart as Josiah...he's probably pretty good at getting people to forget that fact..." Her voice trailed once again. "Still...it's enough to know that he's so desperate for something that will only protect him and not hurt anyone else."

"Well, look..." She pushed herself upright and stood. She shivered. "It's too cold here." Holly muttered. "Any place I ever remember living had a much warmer climate than this..." she turned and gazed at the screen door. "Thins Seifer had enough time to investigate his home?" She asks. "This really is a pretty place..." She turned to face Eric and offered her hand to help him up. "Who knows...maybe he needs help inside now."

Anywho...nothing really THAT awesome lately. That one dude at the school still calls me "Darth" and now it's rubbed off among many other people. The oddest nicknames stick with me. XD There's this one guy in two of my classes though. He's in my creative writing class, which meets three times a week, and then my film course, which meets once a week. He's awesome though. I usually don't try to sterio-type people based off of looks, but this time I couldn't help it. And I was right! This guy is like one of them people you see on TV, the bigger dudes with the dark hair, mostly wears just jeans and a plain T-shirt, lives in his mom's basement and owns every Star Wars collectable out there... Well...after talking to this guy I've learned that there's one difference...he confessed to not owning EVERY Star Wars object out there. Teehee. He's really cool though. Uber smart. I talk to him outside of class now too. He's 26, so he's not old. Young enough to be my buddy without my mom freaking out. XD I just find it so cool...he's the guy you see in them nerd movies. I always wanted to meet someone like that. (And I don't mean to seem superficial in saying "nerd" like they're a type of animal to be kept as a pet...I honestly do think that "nerds" are actually "cool".)

You do plays Venomous? And yah...dying your hair really isn't good for it...my hair has thinned out considerably because of it...but I do it anyway. **shrugs** I thought your hair was longer than your shoulders though, Elara. Have you cut it recently? I actually go through brief moments where I contemplate cutting it. I think either about Elara's length, or if I'm going to cut it, do the whole layer thing, but still have it around my shoulders at least. But then those moments fade quickly when I run my hand to the bottom of my hair and feel where it is now. **shrugs** I might actually post a pic to show you guys.
