The only reason I even MADE a Facebook to begin with was it was for a marketing class I had. I kept it because my marketing experiment worked. So, I'd be pretty ticked if Facebook went down. I sell A LOT of artwork that way. I don't post my art on Facebook because, quite frankly, they were "taking your shit" before they even made that announcement(That and while interning with Marvel, I wasn't allowed to anyway.). But it's good to keep in touch with clients when I need to know what they need, and it adds that personal level when we can all be friendly. It's what I believe, has made most of them recommend me to others, and thus me making more money/getting more work.

I hate that since I didn't take it seriously at first, I used only the first half of my name, because...well, I thought it looked dumb, everyone adding their "middle" names, and I was sick of people going on about my "middle name" and having to explain that no, it's actually all one name (EleanorCatherine) and that when people used that full name in person, they usually got beat up and that I go by Katie or Ellie, or Ellie-Kate(Which was the nickname that started it all when I was a baby, so now I get variants of that nickname), but now if I were to change it, I think it would effect my marketing. As far as a name is concerned, the three syllables and then a one syllable last name makes it a little more memorable, and when marketing, memorability is key.

Why else would I be upset if Facebook went down? Well, I like being an asshole. And FB is a REALLY good tool for that. I've been an asshole my whole life, but this takes it to a whole new level. It's not that I'm AFRAID of people in person, it's just that for when the social congregation is over, I can keep being an asshole.

So, I'd probably go to Google or use twitter more, if FB went down. Activity here would boom too. :p

Edit: And yah, the "taking your shit" remark, I know FB isn't the first and/or only. They were just more off-putting, to me, about the notion of using my shit without my permission. But it has more to do with my internship with Marvel/Disney (My section from Marvel was directly taken over by Disney). And they have their ways of checking that shit. Few people already got in trouble. Yet they're not opposed to Deviant Art, or if we have our own website. In THOSE cases, they'll just tell us we're not allowed to post work we're doing for them. But FB....shit, I got a little bit of grief over my stormtrooper thing and that flower I threw up there a little while ago...so...yeah.

I grew up on Carl Sagan...like...watched the Cosmos series, own both the original and the remastered version where some of the information is updated. I even read a lot of his books. If you want some interesting, badass knowledge, and just a good sci-fi read, I suggest y'all get on this guy. Although he's dead now, sad really...died too young...but still...

And since the 70's, Carl Sagan has been explaining this phenomenon of galaxies colliding, and what ours and Andromeda's could/will do. I'm not sure if this sort of info goes back before Carl Sagan, but I can tell you the news is at least as old as the 1970's.

I'm looking for the segment about the collision now. Well, I'll look again after my nap. :p

I DO respect Brodeur, a lot. He's the only reason to be sad about anything. But otherwise, VERY excited. Hextall was/is my idol. So, this is a close second to the Flyers winning the Cup. I would have loved to see the Flyers and the Kings face off. I still think the Kings would have won. They're a better team than the Flyers. Shit, so are the Devils. It was embarrassing, the way we lost, and it shouldn't have been THAT easy for the Devils, but I think it would have been close, and I wouldn't have been surprised. Bummed out, yes, and MUCH less excited, yes, but not surprised if we had still lost.

I'm really happy for the Kings though. Aside from them being the "Flyers West" apparently, they worked very hard. They all do, but there was just something special about them.

Better than a Canadian team winning...**Eyes someone specifically** Hahahaha.

Badass tattoo, guy. I love it!

And here is a picture taken last month on my birthday, that my sister just showed me...here's a small snippet of how chaotic shit is on any given moment. Small snippet, mind you, and it's like this everyday, all day, not just cuz it was a "birthday", cuz really, people sang, cut cake, and then shit went on as normal, and was going on as normal before too.

The blonde one is my great-niece, that's my nephew holding her, and my twin in the blue, although you can't see her whole face. Ha. :p

And they all piss me off. :p

Finals in June? I was done by the beginning of May. :p

Are you in Cali yet, Elara? Someone has GOT to tell me how the parade was like first hand. I'm living vicariously through you guys...

So...Been working a lot. I'm a paralegal now. I can kick the shit outta some debt and move out asap. I could technically move out now, which is exciting, but hopefully, if I can wait so I can own a car, I'll be able to be pickier about where I move. As of now, I'd have to make sure I was close to public transportation, and most of the affordable places near PT are in shitty neighborhoods...so....

And still going to school. It'll never fucking end. I'm either starting at Temple *Yay Phoenix!* this Fall or Spring. Hopefully this Fall, but I won't be too upset about taking a semester off. I'll just work more is all, save more money.

Typing it out doesn't feel like it's all that much, but I've been working like 70 hour weeks. And then I come home and sleep. Or make fun of people on Facebook.

Hahahahaha. It's my monkey-jaw-face! Hahaha. Dude, I literally worked like 12 hours that day, went home, JUST got out of the shower, and my sister is yelling "Get the fuck down here! We have a cake!" and then she and I argued about her cursing in front of the little ones like that, I got kidney punched for mouthing off to her...and spent the rest of the day trying to breathe.

Normal shit man.

Yeah, i'm glad they didn't riot either. And in all fairness, where it's warmer, people pay less attention to hockey. But that's great. I was reading some of the "cluelessness" articles. But still, it looked fun, and I was sad it wasn't us. Lol. But then again, it was KINDA the Flyers...lol. I'm just glad Hextall could get the celebration.

And it's about 70 hours now, but when I was in school for the semester, it was about 40, so not too bad. I didn't start the job until February, and didn't start working full-time until March, so I had all of January and February to kick ass and take names with school, so I still kept up. Took 6 classes though. If I didn't have to work, I could do it, easy peasy. But now I'm going to just take 4, MAYBE 5, pending on how easy the course is, since I'm working so much.

But yeah Boss, smile bigger. Otherwise, the other pic is better.

For the record, anyone who ever gets a chance to...go to Disney World...and go to Epcot. At their World Showcase, Canada had a REALLY fucking pretty flower garden thing.

Haha. I'm pretty sure it doesn't. :p But You would definitely look cooler as Samara. Shipwreck is on your side. I'm just crazy double jointed and happen to have long dark hair. The double jointed-ness looks wicked cool when reenacting. Especially the crawling down the stairs scene from Ju-On/The Grudge. Which I can actually do...after much trial and error...

But yah! No obstruction! Although, those days WERE hilarious. (Guess which one is me!) Hahahahaha. <3

The whole "pre-existing condition" thing is bullshit. I wasn't up for coverage with my job until this month, but I had a mild heart attack back in April. Thing is, I have PCOS, and PCOS fucks with your heart, your insulin/sugar levels, shit like that (Explains why I would be diabetic "sometimes" and have heart problems "sometimes" as a kid/teenager, actually.) so I couldn't get coverage or a little extra help back then, even though, let's just say my household makes less than 25 grand a year. Much less.

We obviously need healthcare reform. We are an unhealthy country, albeit there being a lot of discord over whether or not it is our fault with the individual choices we make...but I'm wondering...

Elara, you've been studying history for like...ever....right? What kind of history did you cover and what's your specialty? "Unconstitutional" (or not) is a popular topic in this debate. I'd rather simplify for the moment and focus on what history can help define as constitutional or not. Your opinion would be pretty damned helpful.

I know this is an older thread...but really?

I mean, there are certain things where I just sit back and say "even though I'm rolling my eyes and wishing things weren't true...I try to remember that the same was thought of The Beatles...and then I start to feel old.

But seriously...symbols? Prince, you cheeky bastard, this is all your fault.

Another old thread. :p I'm surprised I have time on a Saturday morning...hasn't happened in ages. Haha.

Anywho...on one side, I thought the video was hilariously awesome.

But in all seriousness, it WAS a little too far...but when it comes to child services and things like that, location is the thing. I watched a woman make a call when she saw another woman backhand her child in the supermarket because her kid was being a little asshole. I know what its like to get hit hard. And abuse is abuse, and it still does happen. But not everything is abuse, and here in Philadelphia, they're actually pretty bad with that shit. I mean, there are some parents who deserve it, but there are a lot of parents who are dealing with Child Services coming to their homes 2 days a week or more, just because of something like that.

It's definitely something to watch out for. But it's still no reason to let your kids be ungrateful little bastards. But it's weird...like, I was that teenager too. I ranted about my family soooooo much. It depends on the situation though, and I think sometimes its good. Like, the ranting I did here let me get most of it off my chest, and then when I turned around and faced the situations, I wasn't NEARLY as stupid about them as I was when I DIDN'T vent. Still stupid, but it did help. But I think that depends on the individual. I knew I was ranting. I knew it was making me feel better, even if it was just a little. There's other little bastards out there who rant because they actually think they are right and want to wage this war and realistically expect to win.

Good parenting I think depends on understanding the individual. I don't have kids of my own, per se, but my nieces and nephews? They're good for me. For the most part, always were. There's things that can't be helped because their parents shouldn't have bred, but when it came/comes to the little shit, I could ALWAYS have them with me without them having tantrums for not getting their way, they were always punished for their bullshit, but I didn't abuse them. I got creative. I knew which one needed to be put in the corner for 5 minutes, which one needed to be ignored for 10 minutes, which one could entertain themselves on their own, as long as they had their stuff....

You can punish effectively without going overboard. But, backhanding the little bastard on occasion isn't going "overboard" either.

Haha! That is sound reasoning.

I think it's an abomination for some of those things to be considered "official", but passing things from generation to generation isn't supposed to be easy. It's harder work for us and past generations to instill the difference between "slang" and intellectual conversation, that's all I guess.

**nods** I get that. But a statement like that can be easily challenged. I agree with you, nut I could come up with a few challenges to that, saying that this bill is still is unconstitutional. Which, I'm 100% sure that you could too. Devil's advocacy is key to enlightenment sometimes. :p

I've been on a crusade to use history to prove or disprove reasoning just like that. People making claims, any claims, not just this, and on all sides of those claims, depend on the people they're appealing to to be uneducated on the topic.

Well, fuck that...and just because I feel one way about something doesn't mean I should stop there and not bother to educate myself on what my opposition thinks, and why they think it. But no one's doing that it seems. They're either saying it is constitutional, supporting it with a brief explanation and some modern examples, or they're doing the same thing, but saying its unconstitutional.

My opinion? We're spoiled in this day and age and we want things our way, all the time, no matter how short term they may be. Those saying this is unconstitutional seem to not want to give something of their's up. But before I could tell them they "should" I want to respect their opinions by at the very LEAST having solid proof of it being in fact a good thing, and not just trying to take their freedom. And that's what paying attention to actual historical events will help do. Science can talk about how improving our health is beneficial, and can give us WAYS to improve our system. But history will help us understand how to actually do it.

Edit: Do I make any sense? Holy shit.

MoD was when I first joined. Being scouted and all. Haha. But Yup. XGF is 8, MoD would be 9. I joined in December when I was 15...still a sophomore in HS.

Holy shit...

We're a good group though. There are a lot of people I miss, like Dessee, I luffed her...but we sorta kinda grew together. We used to be so damned angsty, but now it seems to be more of a pleasant mix of a place where I can come to be silly, but still invoke intellectual conversation. When we were all still teenagers, things like "Debate Shrine" probably wouldn't have been a good idea, haha, but I dunno...we're adult enough for it now, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing other people's perspectives on things when I have the time. (I miss having a lot of free time. )

But seriously...10 years or so all together...Dayum.
