Luckily, I have the sugar issue card. It depends on the day I'm having. Beer can sometimes make my sugar go either high or low, so I avoid that. Besides, I can't stand beer.

Mike's Hard drinks, and other wine koolers seem to be the best for me and my sugar (and personally, I like them best so far. XD)

I mean, I'm sure alcohol isn't good for anyone with sugar issues, but I watch VERY carefully what I drink, and eat around that time, and honestly, I don't drink all that much. For instance: fun fact, that drunk feeling you get? Yeah, that's what one feels like when their sugar drops. I'm actually almost certain that most alcoholic drinks DO lower the sugar, or raise it possibly, and that's where the feeling comes from.

I remember drinking once in high school and thinking "Wait, this is FUN to you guys? Whenever I felt like this, I always had to get a needle for insulin. This sucks."

Although, I will say this, if you don't want to get made fun of for your drinks, so far, tackling the crap outta someone in front of everyone embarasses them enough to never make fun of you again, no matter how much of a "sissy" you are for drinking "girly" drinks.

When one's sugar is quickly raised, such as with an alcoholic beverage, it can drop, very quickly, in a very short amount of time. Hence the drunk feeling, according to doctors. Yet the yeast in beer raises it, so I'm even kinda like "Erm...wtf?"

You know, the actual mojito is an interesting one. We could go on about what the typical "girly" drinks are, but, I even asked a few of my friends. Some stubbornly declared that tasting the tequila doesn't make it a girly drink. Especially since most of us never had it with the sugar. So I'm going to go with a "no" too, I guess.

I guess the final verdict is if they're bothering you, just punch them in the face. Publicly. Then you've earned the right to drink whatever you want without being hassled as being too "girly" XD XD XD.

At about 11:30pm last night, I stood there, in the threshold of the theater. Looking at the Iron Man 2 times, since we missed the 11:15, because I was late getting out of work, and then I begged that we went to dinner before the movie, because silly me forgot to eat all day.

So many little events that could have been prevented...so many...but alas, the only showing was the midnight showing of the movie in IMAX, and we were all "Fuck that, it's too expensive." and left.

Alas, I have yet to see this film.

XD To each their own I guess.

In any case, I normally do not care too much for games like these...and when a new racing game comes out the same day as any other title? I'd put on the new racing game even if it came down to playing that first, or say, Final Fantasy (should they ever come out on the same day.)

Well, I did just that, which is why I haven't gotten to play the game until today. Still not my favorite type of game, but...it's pretty damn badass.

I skimmed the first page, and "Busy" is the closest to this thread that I spotted. If this is a repeat of any sort, then sorry! XD

Well, I don't know if this is my new recent influx of time "at home" or what, but I miss this place, and have been not only lurking, like everyday, but I'm posting again too. Woot! I hope to see more people following this pattern.

But anyway, most of us have been here for quite a few years. I, for one, realized, upon celebrating my 22nd birthday, that I've been here since I was 15. Dude.

So, what has everyone been up to? What changed since you've first joined. Plans, living situations, etc...I really REALLY miss talking to the friends I've made here as much as I used to. And I know that kind of time is pretty much over with, but I would like to get back in touch and talk more than I have been.

But yeah. You guys: Then and Now.

And the newer members, feel free to use this to talk about yourselves more. Tell us more about you than just the little intro thread.

I loves me some anime. Haha. And drawing it is still REALLY fun. UBER stress reliever too when I'm in a slump (Like I am now. ) I honestly, especially like drawing it when I don't want to spend too much time working on the line art and more time on a different medium, like actually inking the piece, painting, colored pencil techniques. Etc...

But I'll try to learn any new sort of style. A) Its fun, B) Drawing ANYTHING is practice, even if it's just goofing off and mimicking something. And C) I'm still a student, so as far as assignments are concerned, I'll be working in specific styles and whatnot just for the sake of learning something.

WoW, although I'm not a fan of the games, is a BEAUTIFUL style though. I love it.

Thanks for the compliment on the shading though. I had a difficult time with it at the time I actually drew them, so it means a lot to know I did something worthwhile.

With that, I present some more older stuff.

Had to draw my own hand for an assignment back in high school.

Sketchbook assignments back senior year. Had to draw a mythological creature, and a partially eaten apple...I ate it more than partially by "accident" so she let me slide. XD

I'll probably post more older shit when I find my other portfolios. I REALLY wanna post the re-working of the one Elara helped me with. That piece in particular helped me get into art school. The president of the school LOVED it...and actually pointed out that the one eye, from that perspective can be quite difficult. (The part I wouldn't have been able to come up with the solution, if not for Elara's suggestion.)

It's the only piece that I've done within the past few months that I have available to post. I just picked up paper and went with a simple picture of Gohan.

DISCLAIMER: This is NOT my original work. I doubt any of you will think it is, but just in case someone stumbles upon here through google, I dunno...been taught you can't be too careful. So I'm just disclaiming now, most of these, unless addressed otherwise, are someone else's work. For instance, I just get bored and feel like coloring, or doing a piece very quickly as a stress releiver, for fun, or to practice on another aspect of work, so I still just look up pictures once in a while and attempt to draw exactly what I see.

I now present, Gohan.

I used india ink for the first time, so the black you see is ink painted on. The rest of the lines were inked in black pen, and the coloring was done in colored pencil. Minor photoshop work was done to make the image easier to see (The scanned quality sucked) and I messed with the levels to get the black to be more solid.

You and your inventive ways to post stuff. I swear man. I woulda been like "Here's something I had to draw for class" and the posted the image and the description.

Awesome background music as well though. I'm uber glad you DID post it in a video though. First, I have the same drawing pencil set as you! I love 'em and use them quite frequently. Not sure if they're the "best" out there, or if they're just like everything else, but they get the job done and they're blue, so... but also, what sort of cloth did you have in your hand when you were darkening the lines? Something like that would probably solve a LOT of my own frustrations when I work.

As the work goes itself, sure, I've seen better, but don't knock the A, because I can see where you've gotten it from. It's not like the work is terrible either, and I highly doubt I could produce the same quality you did, and I work VERY hard at my work. So, even if you're going to say its "not all that great" I still say it's better than most I've seen. And besides, perspective sucks. I've seen those damn rules turn some of the best things into something slightly awkward and boring.

I want to see more of your work like this though!

Good to see some people wanting to come out of their shells.

Rogue, I've been waiting for you to post, as well as a few others. XD Dude, I was in awe of you, Elara, few other people, so reading about you even refering to yourself as "then" I remember thinking "Dude, she's cool as shit..."

Things weren't all that strict for me, being as there were too many other problems in the family, and despite being a little jackass, by miracle, I turned out to be not so much like them. I was even top of the class most of my life.

Was waaaayyyyy too cocky for my own good though.

Now? Well...still hardheaded, not any taller, more stubborn, still way too cocky, although the self-esteem has improved. It was terrible back then. Lots of health issues straightening themselves out, I'm a great-aunt now, as well as having more nieces and nephews added to my list, made some stupid mistakes, just like everyone else, but here's to hoping I've learned from them.

Career wise, I never thought I'd see myself in art school. Always liked it as a hobby, but that was where it ended. Unfortunately, due to finances mostly, as well as some other snags, I'm going to be 26 by the time I get out of art school, and with only an Associate's Degree. I have additional plans to further my education, but most of the places I'm interested in working for will gladly pay for my continued education, so right now, I'm just going to school, working, and whatever else happens to come along.

Oh, and I still talk WAY too much.

That's pretty much why we didn't see it. It was the last show playing that night though, and I was almost looking forward to it for the simple fact that I haven't been in an IMAX theater since 3rd grade, and I puked profusely. All over my friend Seanie. It was awesome...

*cough* nuff said about that though. Even if it WAS worth seeing IMAX, I think I'm to cheap to really go through with it. XD

His reaction to the whole thing does make it difficult to feel bad for him. I mean, yeah, being cheated on sucks, BIG time, but there are some people you just can't feel bad for. Me? When I was cheated on, was not one of those. I roughed him up a bit, called it a day, and never spoke to him again. And after breaking his nose in public, his friends don't bother me either.

THAT is a proportionate reponse...doing something that could be potentialy deadly (could be taking it too far by putting it that way, but it's not impossible.) and then screaming at her as she suffered...get the revenge and walk away. Seriously.

Speaking of hockey though, update: still obsessed with hockey. Guess who's going to the Cup this year, baby!!!! Chicago and Philly!!!! Go Flyers!!!

Although...Richards touched the Cup...That's like bad juju. Even if Crosby did last year and they took the Cup...the bad juju just took longer to reach the Pens, since they were taken out in the second of the playoffs this year!!! Ahahahahahahahaha.

Edit: Phoenix, you know, I felt the same way. Like, weird about jumping in on discussions already being had. Pretty much, all I did was sucked it up, and just dove in. Even if I didn't have anything "new" to add, even if it was just agreeing with something already said, or reiterating a good point, only phrasing it my way, it got me involved, and helped me get to know people, and then things just got better from there. I also realized that I wouldn't be chastized for doing so. That was one of my insecurities, agreeing with a point already made seemed redundant at the time. But it helps people get used to seeing your name, reading your thoughts, and in my opinion, helps both parties. You'll see, if you stick with it, it gets easier.

Couldn't agree more with Xeo.

However, I did cry for joy at the return of the show. Despite some of the things I don't like, I just miss the atmosphere of everyone being in love with this show. I seriously spoke with almost every single customer about DBZ....erm...Kai...being on TV. Most of them were older than me and in there with their kids, and sadly their kids for the most part were like "What?"

Hmm....I still think DBZ(K)takes the cake. Naruto is super popular it seems, but I don't know. DBZ was actually here before the late 90's...I suppose. Cartoon Network is national, but then there are "local" stations, although I see a lot of other states have their versions of them? Like, do any of you guys have that Warner Bros. Station? Here it's WB17, but I know I've seen it in other places.

WB here played Sailor Moon and DBZ back in the early 90s for a bit, (WB even played a bit of the StarS season of SM, but that's another topic.) and that's where most of the people I talked to who are a bit older than me remember it from.

Point is though, I think it had a bit of a longer run here than Naruto, and there's more available to kids now than TV. I remember running home from school to get my homework done so I could watch some cartoons (including DBZ) now I'm more or less "Ehh, I can watch it on OnDemand or catch it on Youtube."

Ima stop before I get going TOO much. Even if I didn't like DBZ, I could still see it being a cultural icon in many nations and a good tool for social experiment. XD

Flyers Vs. Bruins, playoff game 3, round 2, which we lost, unfortunately...my first playoff game for ANY sporting event ever....and we lost...but obviously my FlyGuys didn't do too shabby, since we're going to the freaking Stanley Cup!!!!

But in any case, me and two friends of mine who went to the game.
