| "Rat bastards." She mumbled under her breath as the boys took off without giving her a chance to respond. However, she did not get up to follow. John was determined. She knew better and let him be.
When the waitress came back, she sighed and ordered two chicken parms and a cream of broccoli soup for herself. Cody never did tell me what he'd like... she thought to herself ruefully, as she glanced out the window to see if she could spot the boys from there. To her dismay, Katie couldn't get at the right angle to see her where they parked from her window. If he doesn't like it...he does now. Now bored, as she awaited their order and the boys' return, Katie found herself looking around. Surveying the place. She saw several people from her school in the cluttered resturaunt. People were smiling and waving to her as she caught their eyes, and she immediately put her head down, trying to hide her blush. Having a catchy last name and being on the ice hockey team one day and playing voilin in their concerts the next, gained her some popularity. Never enough for others to pull her into their social groups, but just enough for them to notice. Which was fine by her. Most people treated her how she treated them in return, so she had no worries. |

| The hair on the back of her neck began to rise. Something wasn't right. WIth a sigh, she signaled her waitress that she would be right back. The workers there were used to the students coming in and out. Smoking wasn't allowed inside the place. The waitress probably assumed that was what she was doing.
However, Katie didn't hide her anger as she stormed out of the place. Not surprising to her, she caught the last seconds of John and Cody's scuffle. "What the hell is going on here." It wasn't a question. It was a demand. She never did bother to hide her bossy tendancies. "You two leave me alone at the table, looking like an ass, only to start a dick measuring contest?" She growled (OOC: Heh. Liam Neeson.) Before waiting for an answer, she turned to John and glared. She heard his comment, but knew that reminding him that she could take care of herself was unnecessary. Her hands were balled into fists. She was frustrated, but now felt a twinge of guilt. Afterall, it wasn't fair for her to invite a newcomer without seeking her current companion's permission. "I'm not as foolish as I let on. Now, we're going to walk back inside, finish our food before my sugar drops, and you're going to calmly explain what happened by the lockers today." And with that, she turned on her heels and walked back into the building, her long hair swaying behind her. |

Thanks guys.  I'll be coloring them/adding more. Well, maybe not the first one. I always need a warm-up piece just to get into drawing.
Right now I'm working on a few more pieces like these too, then I'ma just transfer them to new paper (To keep the originial artwork) and color/add the value.  |

| As Cody plopped himself in the seat facing her, she was about to say something, but the waitress was bringing them their food. So instead, she sat back and smiled and thanked the waitress. The waitress returned the gesture with a wink and a gentle grin.
Once the food was placed on the table, Katie gently nudged the food she ordered for Cody closer to him. "Eating this is the only thing that will save you from your explanation right now." She says, calmly, yet still livid. She didn't even bother to touch her soup. Instead she propped her elbows on the table, folded her hands, and rested her chin against her laced fingers. She was waiting to see how he would respond. |

| She tilted her head and smiled, then reached for her spoon and began to dig into her soup. She had timed things just right. Between the drink she was sipping on while waiting, and now the soup, she could already feel body recovering itself.
"Now, John here is a bit of a weirdo." She announced, grinning from ear to ear. "And I am now most certain that you are too." She shrugged. "I don't care. Normalcy isn't something that can be decided by one person. However..." She paused, glancing up toward the door to see if John was making a reappearance any time soon. "He's unnerved. Been so lately. And I don't understand why." She looked down at her spoon as she twirled it gingerly in her soup, for a moment before looking back up at Cody. |

Katie paused, and momentarily felt ashamed of herself. With the exception of those who were nice to her simply because they themselves were good people, she is no better than the typical bully. |

Katie was taken aback. John wouldn't do that to her... She was really beginning to worry about him. "Cody. I'm sorry..." Was all she said. She tore through her purse and slammed the money down on the table. "That should cover everything, including tip." She quickly rose to her feet and nearly glided out of the place, she was moving so fast. On her way out, she nearly fumbled over Crystle and Sarah's table. She blinked for a moment or two, blushed, and offered an appology. Once outside, she glanced around frantically. John was nowhere in sight...but the blood was there. "John, you sonuva bitch." She mumbled as she made her way over to her car. For a second, however, she hesitated. There was so much distress coming from the resturaunt that she hadn't noticed before. "What the..." She had no time for it, she needed to find John. |

| "Get in the car." Was all she said as she, herself hopped in the driver's side. Leaning over to the passenger's side, she unlocked the door. "Do your thing." She says.
On the inside, she was shaking with frustration. Outside, she was collected as ever. She hardly saw the side of John that she witnessed today. And the blood. The blood. "Do whatever thing it is that makes you like John." She said, in a hurried tone. |

| She was already flooring it. "I should have known." She mumbled.
Within a matter of moments, she was closing the distance between her and John. "I promised him a while ago I'd always let him have his little clearing to himself...." She said, a little more clearly this time for Cody to hear. A moment of so later, Katie pulled to the side of the road. "This is the closest I think I can get with the car." said she, as she jumped out of her vehicle. It was getting dark. And cold. She allowed herself one shiver as she pressed on, knowing Cody would be at her heels. As she pushed herself through the shrubbery, the darkness enveloped them even more. Partially because of the darkening sky, and partially because of the growing number of trees leaning over them. After some time of fumbling throughout the woods, nearly tripping here and there and banging herself up a bit, Katie heard voices. At first she could only hear one...then... "John!" She called out, moving even faster now, to the sound of his voice. |

| Always a second too late. she thought to herself.
"John..." Her voice came out soft. Almost helpless. She too saw the blood, and knowing he was bleeding earlier, she immediately made the connection. "Which way did he go?" She demanded, locking her sights on Evan. She recognized him from the very few times she saw him at school. Knew he had a bit of a reputation of his own. Yet she didn't think twice about what she did next. "If you know what's good for you, you'll tell me every little bit of what you may have seen." She growled, now standing directly in front of him, her hands balled into fists at her side. She was frantic, only she rarely expressed the emotion in the typical manner. Rather than breaking down into hysterics, as her insides often encouraged her to do, she gained a newfound sense of irrationality. |

| Katie reached up and snatched the cigarrette from his mouth. She held it behind her, but as far away from her as she could reach, keeping herself between Evan and his cigarrette.
"You'll get this back if you tell me what just happened. Please." She looked up at him, narrowing her brown eyes, her furrowed brow causing natural creases on the bridge of her freckled nose. |

| She tossed the cigarrette aside and flopped on the ground. She brought her knees to her chin and rested her head in her hands. An unbearable headache was coming on, she could feel it.
"Whatever we need to discuss, now would be a good time to do it, Cody." She said through gritted teeth. At least someone here seemed to have a handle of what was going on. That made her feel a little better. She let out a shiver, but stiffled her body in case another was about to surface. Glancing up at Evan, she mumbled. "Thanks for trying to help him. Sorry if we bothered you." |

| Katie looked back and forth from Evan to Cody. First, her eyes fell up toward Evan. She reached behind her and gently tugged his arm down toward her.
"Thanks. I think I should hear this first, before going after him. But if you're sticking around..." Finally she gave in. She couldn't handle holding in the shivers. She was grinding her teeth so hard to do so, that it was making her headache much worse. Her sudden comfort with these boys didn't feel strange at all, even though her logic was telling her that she shouldn't be so trusting. But she always did have a knack for knowing whether someone was a threat to her or not. "I really could use that hoodie of your's." She says with a smirk. Then, she looks forward at Cody. "He's my best friend." She says matter of factly. "We're 'nerds'' she says, using her fingers to make immaginary quote marks around the word "nerds". "We were picked on as kids. Nerds are, afterall, considered weird..." Her voice trailed off for a moment or two. "He gets random moments where I can see it." She paused to allow a sigh to escape her lips. "The frustration. Anxiety. You name it. If it weren't for the fact that they're microscopic...I'd be able to see the hairs on the back of his neck rise. And for, seemingly, no apparent reason. He was always getting nervous on random occasions, and I can't put my finger on the cause." |

| "You would have known if you came to school more often." She said, half smirking, half allowing herself to nod in gratitude as she accepted the hoodie as well. The cold always got to her. Right now, more than ever, but perhaps the moment was helping the chill along, she thought, as she recollected the day's events.
"Truthfully...I don't know exactly what happned today." she admitted. "I was too busy making fun of you guys...I just know that was when John started acting weird. but please..." She stopped, looking over at Kaijin with her brown eyes. "Just come out with it! I don't give a shit who tells me and what they tell me. All I know is you have about thirty seconds to keep my attention before I dart after him..." |

| Aggitation setting in, she rose to her feet, handing back the jacket and hoodie.
"I'm goi--" the vibration in her pocket cut her off. Slowly, she reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone. Flipping it open, she keyed in to her inbox. A text message. ...I have blood for you..." She read aloud. "Grargh!" She fumed, not even making an intelligible sound. Just the first thing that came to her mind to express her frustration. "HERE!" She was furious. None of this was easy for her to process, yet she didn't dare disbelieve any of it. "It's for you!" She exclaimed, shoving the phone to Kaijin. Angrily, she made her way closer to the lake. There has to be a path to the other side around here somewhere... she thought. "I have to find him. I have to get him home and safe. I don't know what the fuck is going on here, but this is getting ridiculous!" She exclaimed to no one in particular, as she fumbled around for a way that would lead her to the other side. |

| "I'll tell you what a gargoyle is. It's a stone guardian, meant to scare outsiders away. I don't know why anyone is calling anyone a wolf. Last I checked, John..." She didn't even bother to finish. She gave up on finding a path around the lake and began walking back toward the boys, her voice livid.
"I'm going to my car. Evan, if you want a ride somewhere, I'll happily oblige. Cody...your car is still back at the resturaunt, I'll drop you off when you're ready." she said as she trudged passed the boys and made her bay back through the woods. |

| "This is great." She says, as Sync now blocked her path to her car. She shot Kaijin the angriest glare she could muster, but obeyed nonetheless.
Stepping to the side, she now got a better look in Sync's direction. "Sarah?" She asked aloud. "Cody, it's alright!" She exclaimed, some of her anger fading. "I'm sorry I bumped into you earlier..." she grumbled. Her grumble turned into a gasp as Evan was shoved aside. Immediately she moved to his side. "Why would you do something like that...oath? What the hell?!" She turned back and looked up at Evan. "And you...voices?!" she began to sway for a second, but she caught herself immediately. "I'm going home..." She mumbled, walking toward her car again, now that Sync wasn't blocking her path. (OOC: Keep in mind the empathy. Sync may appear to be different, but I still feel Sarah too...) "Sarah. Sync. Wolf. Gargoyles. Voices." She said as though the words were part of a song. She was processing all of the information. She was believing it...yet she wasn't taking anything seriously. She didn't feel bothered by anything. Only tired. She wanted to go home now. "Am I waiting for anyone?" She asked as she continued to walk away. "Is so, let me know now..." And she lept walking. Should silence be her response, she knew her services were not required. |

| Katie looked over at Evan as she put her car into gear. "Where to?" She mumbled. Quite a bit of time had passed. She could feel the weariness setting in. She didn't want to think about any of it. About John. Monsters. Voices.
She just wanted to go home and fall asleep, putting the day to an end as quickly as possible. |
