| For starters, not only do I agree with the points Rogue has posed, but I also confess that I am guilty of some things that people may witness while "People Watching." Such as the whole food thing. When it comes to something edible, subliminal messaging is my Kryptonite. >.o
And for Darth Nelrith's contribution...well, for one, the only reason why I wouldn't go as far as to say "100% correct" is because I don't call anything 100%...simply because there are other opinions out there. But the author, in my little opinion, is a genious. The first rule goes right for the kill. Grabs the attention of the reader by attacking a typical human insecurity. Another thing I have observed....People talk a big game about being right, but most talk to big to cover up their fear of being wrong...ignorant to something. So right there, by addressing that point, Mr. Goodkind has caught his reader, and if it is something they can identify with, then he has established himself some credibility, and thus, continue to be heard. |

Name: Nina Valentine Alias: Scarlet Age: 18 Physical Age: 18 Race: Daywalker Abilities: Extra sensory abilities. Nina's five senses are far more keen than any human. She is also more agile than the average human. Weapons: Small dagger kept in her boot. Specialization: hand-to-hand combat Physical Appearance: Nina has chin-length, poker straight, scarlet colored hair. Hence her nick-name. She is rather thin and fragile looking, but that has always worked to her advantage, and is probably one of the reasons why she is as quick and graceful as she is. Her skin is pale but her eyes are a deep green. She stands at about 5'3, and wears a rather gloomy yet sexy style of clothing. Nina wears a blood red corsette top tied with black ribbon and lined with black lace around the top. Her black skirt is short and snug fitting, wrapping around her from her hips to her mid thigh. The rest of her pale legs are covered in black leather boots that rise up to her calves. Her hands are concealed in black leather gloves, and on occasion, on top of it all, Nina wears a black hooded cape that falls down to her ankles. Background: Nina's father was a vampire, and her mother a human. She was left to live with her mother for the majority of her life, unknowing the causes for her differences among the other people around her. While everyone else could see, hear, speak, taste, and feel, Nina's usage of those senses was much different. Everything was sharper. Everything down to the touch struck Nina differently than most others. However, with those exceptions, Nina was able to adapt to the world around her and blend in enough to survive it. That is, until the day she met her father for the first time...standing over the body of his new kill; Nina's mother. Instead of turning on her, however, Nina's father simply welcomed her to his "family." Not knowing what he had meant, and horrified over her mother's death, Nina refused him. But no matter where she went afterward, he pursued her until finally, intrigued by the similarities she sensed between them, Nina agreed... |

| Nina was taken aback by Eddie's outbursts, as though for a moment she wasn't used to them. She flicked a strand of black hair out of her face and gazed back at her friend with her green eyes. However, before she was able to speak, she heard another voice. Glancing up toward its source, Nina shot a quick frown in Eddie's direction and then returned her attention to the janitor.
"It's nothing, sir. My friend here has quite the imagination at times. Don't'chya?" She says, nudging Eddie with her elbow. She gave Koan a polite nod and guided Eddie toward their next class. "Of course you can stay. It's just my brothers and I for the week anyway..." She mumbled. |

| Nina caught the janitor's comment just before she and Eddie entered their nearby classroom. "What happened to the other guy?" She asked, slipping Eddie's bookbag from his shoulders and dropping it into one of the desks in back. "Ehh, he was a crotchety old guy anyway." She muttered, refering to their old janitor. She sighed as she tossed her bag to the side and dropped herself into the desk next to Eddie's.
Gingerly, she ran her olive-colored fingers through her hair, pulliing it up off her neck. She wrapped the elastic band around her hair three times before leaving it alone, her long hair now a narrow trail down to her waist. She leaned in closely, surveying Eddie with an intent stare. "I'll ask my brother to drive you to your place to get your crap and tell your folks before we go to my house." Her eyes shifted suspiciously around the classroom. "Then you can tell me what the hell is going on. It's too crowded here..." |

Hmmm....lessee...I was asked to be the maid of honor at my little sister's wedding. They're not getting married for a few years actually, but it was my future brother-in-law who was insistent upon her asking me now. Well, he practically asked, which actually meant a lot to me, considering he and I came a long way. First time we met I punched him in the face, and now he and I are like best friends. Teehee. It's kinda just special all around. She'll be the first of my sisters to be married too. (my older sisters aren't actually married...unless that common law marriage stuff exists still. **shrugs**) |

| **raises her hand** Tons of us here could give advice actually.
I can emphasize that last part though. My senior year...**runs through the ages of her nieces and nephews and sisters** I was in charge of a 16, 14, 12, 11, 10, 9, 7, 2, 2, and 1 year old. My younger sisters, the 16, and 14 year olds at the time, weren't so bad...s'not like I had to change their diapers, but at the same time they were the most difficult. Two bodies to make messes, pick on the other kids, and get in trouble...and yet never once helped me with the house or other kids, made it harder actually. My oldest niece was a godsend though...she helped the older ones with their homework while I took care of the babies, then she and I swapped between getting our own work done and taking care of the kids after dinner. It's tough, I know...TV can also be a godsend though. Sometimes I would sit the little ones down, put something on, and sit and watch it with them, well, do my homework while they sang or did whatever was going on with the television program. Or I would make up games that required noise. A) little kids love being loud...and B) it allowed me to be able to look down at my work, because as long as they were singing and laughing and whatnot, I knew they were alright. I would always do that in the same room though. Like let them play in the livingroom while I sat there and did my work. **shrugs** In all honesty, to give you better advice, I'll need to know more about your scheduel. Like how do your school days work? Like I used other times to get my work done too...I did my work at lunch, on the bus to school, bus from school, and in study hall. By senior year I HAD to take a study hall to have time to do my work, just cuz my home life became so demanding and stressful. Ask Xeios/White...he made fun of me all the time for being so damned neurotic. |

Wisdom teeth don't sound too bad either. I have to get mine out too...my biggest fear is the fact that I also have to get several root canals, and possibly a crown put in, and after all that, my dental insurance only covers $15,000....so Ima have to pay for stuff that I can't afford. 
The only pain in the ass about the dentist is the possible pain you'll feel afterward. For some reason that was hardly an issue for me though. And I've had quite a bit of work done...it's quite unavoidable even from street hockey, let alone playing on a team.

| Maybe White can give a second opinion here, but...since the game came out, the only reason why some people are hesitating to pick it up is because of "Kane and Lynch". **shrugs** But we have been selling more Assassin's Creed than KnL...
I don't know. I've been craving Need for Speed since the middle of the summer, so I picked up Pro Street instead. Haven't gotten to Assassin's Creed, but my co-workers say it's freaking amazing! |

"You've been this weird since you were a little kid." came a cool, deep voice from beside Eddie. "Yet Alessandro gives you enough credit to assume you'll change with age." Gianni, one of Nina's older brothers, a senior at their high school, was grinning from ear to ear as he spoke to Eddie. His voice was calm however. Something freaked the kid out. Gianni thought to himself, hoping that poking fun at the boy would break the ice a bit. He was crouched beside his car, peering at Eddie as he hid underneath it. He outstretched his hand to help Eddie out. "If you're looking for Nina, she's over there..." he chuckled as he tilted his head toward her direction. Off to the side, about 30 feet away was Nina, standing by the school's exit. Her body language did not hide the fact that she was interested in the boy with whom she was talking to. Every once in a while, she would tilt her head back just a certain way as she would laugh at the boy's comment, all the while twirling a strand of her long hair between her fingers. Bzzzzz "Damn it Gianni!" Nina thought to herself as she reached a hand into her pocket to catch her vibrating phone. "I'm sorry. It's probably my brother...he's too impatient sometimes..." Nina says to the boy as she flips her phone open. "Shit." She mumbled to herself. Gianni couldn't hear what Nina said to the boy, but he saw her wave and break into a jog as she scanned the parking lot frantically. "Over here!" Gianni called out and waved Nina over to his car. Nina finally slowed her pace as she reached the car and immediately knelt down beside her brother, shoving him aside. "Oh Eddie...I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed. "What happened, are you alright?" |

| Gianni simply shook his head from the front seat and Nina just shrugged. "If you're here, that means Dante cooks a larger dinner...I'm not complaining." Gianni replied nonchalantly.
Nina, however, remained quiet the rest of the ride home. Something about Eddie troubled her. She couldn't put her finger on it, and perhaps it was her bias toward him as her friend, but Nina was willing to take into account that there was something wrong rather than shrug it off as insanity. When they pulled up the driveway, Nina wasted no time in exiting the car. Dante was already home, so there was no need to unlock the door. She made her way directly to her bedroom and tossed her bag to the side. "Eddie, I need your help with something!" She shouted down the stairs as she heard Eddie enter the house with her brother. Nina then flopped on her bed, arms and legs crossed as she waited for her friend. |
