That was the trailer. The game is released on store shelves October 13th, but since i'm cool, I got it today and wanted to say HOW FRIKIN AWESOME IT IS!!!!!!!11!!!one!!! Is anyone else planning on getting it? If so I would give it two thumbs up because if you have the computer to play it on the graphics are INCREDIBLE and the online play is SO cool. It has up to 64 players and also there's a new titan mode where there's a huge space ship hovering over the map and you launch your men into it using a vehicle with pods in it and destroy 5 command stations within THEN have to get out in time. If this is achieved you will get a medal. Also, if you knife someone you get there dogtags. The dogtags were implemented as a "prize" for knifing as many people as possible. Kinda like collecting cards but instead you had to kill the kids to get them =P. (Last edited by Dark Luke on 10-04-06 12:04 AM) |

Battlefield 2142 looks like it will be really good. I was kinda let down by BF 2, I mean, it was good and all but it just felt like a totally different game then what battlefield was. I did like that field commander role though, made it feel like you had someone watching your back all the time (so long as you had voice chat).
BF2142 hopefully will take BF2's ideas and refine them into a sweet game. Besides, I want to ride a mech into the thick of a battle and tear some major ass. |

Ya this game in my opinion will be better then 2. In all aspects. I'm not sure if they left in the commander role, (No online for me yet, since....only maybe 50 others actually have the game before it comes out rofl.). But the new Titan mode is gonna be KICK ASS.
Edit: I forgot to mention one of the coolest parts in place of the commander role. If one of your allies spots an enemy they light up as a red triangle on your HUD, thus making the gameplay more realistic. Also, visa-versa for you so if the enemy sees you, you're screwed. =P Along with that, mission objectives and vehicles also show up on your HUD which is REALLY cool. That sounds like they were looking at Modern Warfare when they made this game (Tom Clancy's Modern Warfare game for the X-Box and 360 of course). Looking at it some more, I dont know if they are going to be able to capture the same level of warfare though as in BF42. In 1942 online play, you feel like your actually part of a massive battle across the playing field. I think people who play the Al Amenen (the huge desert one where both sides start off on oppisites sides of the field and in oppisite corners). The initial push out with all the tanks makes it feel like it really is a war out there and your ass is about to be handed to you.
2142 on the other hand, doesnt look like it will have that gigantic scale like 1942 did. I dont know if that is true or not, but from what ive seen, it looks like your just fighting in cities and it all seems much more confined to me. Maybe its just what ive seen, that may not be true at all (though I do want to fly one of those new helicopters around the city and kill things) |

No, the battles are MASSIVE....they had to make the maps big because ya'know...64 players at once....that would be one hell of a knife fight...running and killing every 2.33573253 seconds. But ya, the trailer just shows some small city combat but the feels "seem" like they go on for up to a 5 mile square. |
