How many letters are in the alphabet?

How many birthdays does your average man have?

There are five apples on a table. You take away two, how many have you got?

In Japan, what can instantly turn water into ice?

Before Mt. Everest was discovered, what was the tallest mountain in the world?

A truck is carrying pumpkins, eggplants, and tomatoes. It encounters a sharp curve--what drops?

There you go! And, no using the Internet...cheaters. But, you can use the Internet to help on the Japan one, if needed.

Before Mt. Everest was discovered, what was the tallest mountain in the world? - Mt. Everest. It was still taller eventhough it wasn't discovered yet.

I shall release one answer at random until all questions are done, thereby vindicating those that are correct, and allowing others to make fun of those who aren't.

How many letters are in the alphabet?

Correct answer is 11, there are eleven letters in the phrase "the alphabet".

Remember the title of this thread. The answers may be obvious, but only if you're thinking in a different frame of mind. Besides, why would I give a question as easy as the first one if it was meant to be a riddle/brain teaser?

Well, you might need the internet for the Japan one, but the rest should be pretty easy.

Mt. Everest!

Before it was discovered, a different mountain was considered the tallest. But, it never was.

Before Mt. Everest was discovered, was the tallest mountain in the world?

Answer is Mt. Everest. Even though it wasn't discovered nor named, it was and is still the tallest mountain on the planet above sea level.

There, two questions eliminated, only four more to go!

[sigh].... did we all just jump over my post? it was the second one... it went like this

"How many birthdays does your average man have? - 1

There are five apples on a table. You take away two, how many have you got? - you've got 2, and there are 3 left on the table

Yeah, did you realize that I'm just providing answers and not really acknowledging anyone on whether they're correct or incorrect?

Maybe you should try reading the posts yourself as well.

I know you got the Mt. Everest question correct, but I'm not acknowledging any of the other answers as correct or incorrect until I post the answers to them.

Since I've been forced to post:
There are five apples on a table. You take away two, how many have you got?

Answer: You have two.

However, Congratulations to those of you that got correct answers off the bat!
I'll give hints for the Japan one later on.
I'm trying to motivate a different way of thinking...thinking outside the box...away from the norm. I'm hoping you might discuss things back and forth (especially the Japan one) before just waiting for me to give up the answer. Have fun!

I return from the dead because Zabuza was pestering me to log in because no one was posting answers to his "obvious answers" forum.

So, how many birthdays does your average man have? I'd say one. But, then I just realize that someone already answered that.

So, in Japan, what can instantly turn water into ice? A Japanese refrigerator.

True! Speed does drop, to slow down. It doesn't really matter what the truck is carrying, hopefully the driver will slow down!

Now, does anyone want to tackle the Japan ice/water question yet?

The answer is so OBVIOUS, you're all gonna scream. Maybe.

It takes times in order to have water into ice by freezing it. Trust me.

I believes the answer would be Cryokinesis. If Pryokinesis mean heat, Cryokinesis mean cold. Get the idea?

In Japan, what can instantly turn water into ice?

Answer: A dot.

The Japanese kanji for water (mizu):

Adding a dot to the Japanese kanji for water (mizu) makes it the Japanese kanji for ice (koori):

See? Wasn't that insanely easy? I was at least expecting VGFreak877 to get it. I mean, Japanese, people...come on!

Joe Typicalson would say three, but that is incorrect.

Sam lesstypicalson would say five, since no fish were taking out, but that is wrong.

I say: Fish can't drown. So that question cannot be correct!
