Fighters:
Cyro vs. Kaijin ~~~ Items: Cyro has been armed with the scythe. Kaijin has been armed with the chakrams. ~~~ Weapon Analysis Scythe The scythe, originally meant to be an agricultural instrument, has become quite popular due to its assosiation with certain legends and mythological beings such as Father Time and Death. Consisting of a long curved blade attached to a wooden pole, the scythe is known for its ability to make extraordinarily fast and very wide sweeping slashes. By using these sweeping motions, the user is able to execute certain very effective combos, assuming that the proper amount of momentum is applied and used. Due to the design of the weapon, the scythe can even strike at the opponent's back while its user is facing the opponent's front, when done correctly. However, since the blade is all the way on the end of the pole, it occasionally becomes rather awkward to defend and parry. A certain amount of distance is required in order to maintain an effective stance. Length of pole: 170 cm Length of blade: 80 cm Chakram The chakram was primarily a weapon used by the Indian army. Light and effective, the chakrams were disks, or even half disks, with a blade attached to the outer ends. While primarily used for throwing, the chakrams can also be used for close range combat. Thus, a handle is often provided. The chakrams are quite similar to daggers with the exception of their aerodynamic design, which allows them to be thrown. Because of this, the chakrams are much faster and easier to wield by hand, when slashing. Unfortunately, the chakrams are not nearly as long as most medieval daggers, therefore, it is required for its user to be at very close range in order to be used effectively. The chakrams, when used by hand, focus mainly on speed and agility. When they are thrown, they can be manipulated to curve inwards/outwards or fly straight. Diameter of a full chakram diskus: 24 inches Note: Kaijin received two half diskus chakrams. Note: Kaijin is allowed to throw the chakrams if he decides to do so. However, he is only provided with two chakrams in total. ~~~ Rules: Standard Tournament Rules 3 day grace period between each post. 7 day grace period for first post. Failure to abide by rules will result in automatic DQ. Matches will automatically end in 4 weeks starting from the day in which the thread was created. ~~~ Setting: It's...so cold. White...as far as I can see. No...wait...grand mountains, even farther than that. Snow pummelling my skin. I can barely see my breath through all the falling snow. My feet sink deep into the ground. Alas, am I to do battle in such conditions? There is no other way...I must endure this harsh weather. There, through the falling snow A silhouette... My opponent is there. So it is decreed... I am to fight in this cursed land of Freeze and solid water. |

His eyes squinented through the flurry of pure white as it slashed the air by his face. The cold air was something to be weary of.
He left both of his blades under the insulated trenchcoat that he wore. The collar pulled up over his neck, the coat was buttoned on the top half only, and a pair of thick black pants, tucked into a pair of heavy black goots could be seen. He almost couldn't believe the perdicament he was in, fighting in a blizzard? His green eyes peirced the sky as he looked over the ridge of the massive mound, viewing the valley beneath his feet. One wrong move, and the wind could throw him off, regardless of strength, or speed. He quickly reached up under his coat, and pulled both Chakrams out from underneath, both blades in hands. Slowly, he turned from his frozen spot, and looked back toward the more level part of the storm, where the fighting should begin. (Last edited by Kaijin Surohm on 12-21-05 11:35 PM) |

[sorry for not making my entrance. Military stuff kept me busy]
Coming to the arena as lightly dressed as he is wasn't the smartest thing to forget about upon knowing his future fight earlier. A long sleeve shirt and somewhat think pants with boots was all that he had worn. Although only his skin could feel the cold air as it passed over him his body would begin to feel the effects soon if he did not have plenty of movement. Fortunately, he was sure his opponent would be able to give him such means. Standing across from him, through the incredibly dense falling snow, Cyro could barely see the foe he was about to face. Just a faint, darkened figure was all the information his eyes gave him to let him know the other fighter was indeed "there". Vision was only one problem. The deep snow would make movement more difficult. But it would possibly also hinder the other person, fortunately. With Scythe in hand Cyro was ready for combat, or as ready as he could be. |

Kaijin slushed forth through the flurry of white. He wasn't about ready to let his opponent come to him now, but running wasn't an option with how deep the snow was. If he wasn't careful, he'd find himself tripping over his own weight.
Each blade in hand, he gripped tightly, as he closed the distance between him and the figure before him, his opponent. All he needed was to get in close enough, to avoid the problems of vision. |

With his opponent moving towards him, Cyro's adrenaline rose a bit and got him excited for combat. He could just as easily meet him in combat, but Cyro thought he had a better idea. He turned around and ran from his position in the other direction. Leaping through the snow as fast as he could Cyro constantly checked over his should to keep track of the growing distance. When he saw nothing more than a figure again he assumed Kaijin would be able to see him as well, so he dove into the snow and rolled to his left a few times. That way he wouldn't be found so easily. Lying on his back, Cyro pushed some snow onto his legs, waist and chest. He held his scythe diagonally across his body so that it was also buried into the cold, white powder.

Kaijin smirked to himself as he stopped. Truely, he didnt' expect this style of tactic, due to how many enemies have just came at him head on...
He'd have to truely be careful around this one. He stood straight from where he stood, and slid the Chakrums back under his coat. He would be a fool if he followed. Instead of following, he'd let the blizzard do his job for him. His cloths were insolated, so he could last a while in the blizzard, but he was curious on his opponent. If he were as cunning as he's letting on, would he be as well dressed? For only a fool would be lightly clothed in the frozen wasteland of this arena. Yes... Instead of following, the frozen cold will do his job for him, while he waited for sight of his enemy. |

Cyro continued to lay in the snow, listening for sounds of walking or anything other than the snowy wind blowing across the area. After a minute or two of nothing he lifted his head slightly up off the ground to get a peek at where Kaijin was and what was going on. Through the hard snowfall he could barley see in the distance that the other fighter, who didn't seem to be moving, was either unaware or his location or was playing along. He concentrated his vision on the figure for several seconds to detect any signs of motion, from walking to breathing warm air into his hands. Nothing seemed to ensue. Cyro could tell his body temperature had dropped a couple degrees, for he was beginning to shiver. He'd expected Kaijin to be at his location after a certain amount of time, but because he was still quite some distance away Cyro decided to take matters into his own hand. He pulled his sleeves up over his hands, slid the weapon off his body and carefully turned over. He then rotated himself so that his head was facing to the right of his opponent and started dragging himself along the ground, with scythe in hand, to a spot some distance away from Kaijin's left side , careful so as not to be noticed by the other fighter

He mused to himself as he stood dead still, not letting any movement pass his gaze. In this harsh blizzard, standing still would easily hide him from sight.
He kept his gaze up, ignoring the numbness that his face was now starting to overcomb, but ignored it with the warmth that the adrenaline was giving him. The feel of battle... At this rate, he'd beable to see movement in the snow, or hear his opponent before too long. |

Cyro, I know you're probably busy with military stuff. But you never asked for an extension and we last talked on the 29th of December meaning you had time to post a reply after Kaijin's. Since the 3 day limit has been broken (I consulted a second party to confirm this), you have been DQed.
Kaijin shall advance. |
