Looks like Sega did the publishing for the U.S., but 29 classic Taito games on one disc was too great to pass up, and only 20 bucks to boot. I know the original list was supposed to be 40 games, and several cool titles were removed from the Japanese Taito Memories list (ours is a partial combo of Taito Memories Volume 1 and 2), but with Rainbow Islands and Bubble Bobble on the disc I'm pretty pleased (miffed somewhat by Bubble Symphonies removal). There's a site about this game, have a look.

Ya know, I htink the only one of those I've actually heard of was Bubble Bobble (I thought it was Puzzle Bobble O.O ), and I love it. I will be buying a Neo Geo cabinet for my arcade (4 slot) and Puzzle/Bubble Bobble is going to occupy one of those slots.
If I had a PS2 or an XBox, I'd buy it just for that game. |

One simple question arises form this.
Why buy this when I can buy Resi 4? Games age very quickly, much faster than movies, for example. Sure, we need to look to the past from time to time, but let's keep advancing forwards, people, and keep old games in the past where they belong. |

When you get my age, you start appreciating the past. As I get older I find myself not caring nearly as much for 3-D games as much as games I grew up on, this is an opportunity for younger gamers to see what older gamers grew up on. I give Res Evil 4 a nice score because it's not the same old Resident Evil of the past, but you'll see in about 10 to 15 years where your gaming loyalties lie, either by that time you quit gaming, or you start going back to play the classics. I've seen younger people down the old games because they aren't 'pretty' like todays games, but back then one didn't play for endings, mainly score and progress. Plus these older games tend to be fun to boot, and pricewise I'd rather spend 20 bucks on 29 games I know I'll play a lot, than say 50 bucks on a game I'll beat and retire (got plenty of retired games).
It's all about the gaming addiction really. Some games don't age, they simply get better with age. But if you're not into old school games, pass on it, but I tell you if your into these timeless classics, pick the game up, it's a bargain. And Evo Puzzle Bobble was indeed in a Neo Geo cab, but Bubble Bobble wasn't it's not a puzzle game, but I tell you if you play it you'll get addicted for sure, Bubble Bobble is the predecessor to Puzzle Bobble (good eye spotting the similarities though). There is also another great compilation out there, Capcom Classics Collection, 22 'old' games from the 80's and early 90's. All 3 GnG titles are on that compilation and there's plenty of unlockables. And hooray for Taito Legends 2 which should be out in 2006, buying old games let's companies know that it's ok to re-issue older games, people will play them. I'll be all over that one and Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 when they come out. |

*jaw drops* Dude, I can't believe you just said that. Some of the best games are classics. LIke, Tetris is awesome. And. And All the Gradiuses... and all the Donkey Kongs, and Marios, and. And. And. O.O Dude!
Originally posted by Bloodreign Amen to that. That's one thing that bothers me about one of my friends. He gets money, he buys games, beats them, and that's that. *shrugs* I shall have to check some of those games out. I can't really buy the game since I don't have a system for it (besides PC), but it'll be interesting to check it out. |

And so it looks as though we'll get what we want, a second volume (Taito Legends 2), with many games that were taken off of Volume 1, hope this is in DVD format this time and not blue bottomed CD format. 40 more titles (Volume 1 was supposed to be 40 too, hope this time it rings true) to have fun with.

Puzzle Bobble. Is that actually the one I was talking about before? Yay!
LoL. Other than that, I still haven't heard of any of the titles. Are they arecade machines, or from a console? |

They are all arcade titles as the first game was, and yes since I MAME a ton of arcade titles, I've actually heard of all these games. Bonze Adventure I love playing to death along with Kiki Kaikai and Fairyland Story. KK is based on the SNES games (though much older than the SNES games) Pocky and Rocky, BA is about a buddhist monk on a mission to defeat an underworld god gone bad (lots of humor), and FLS is 101 levels of puzzle solving similar but older than Bubble Bobble, you turn your enemies into cake and drop them down or keep shooting them with your wand to defeat them. Check out KLOV for info on any of these 40 titles. | |||

This looks pretty interesting. Even though the only games I recongnized on the list were Bobble Bubble, and Elevator Action, I'd be up for trying out new games (as I did with Capcom's recent Classic Collection, which I'd say was excellent. It's also $20, and definitely worth it).
When did this come out? I don't think I've ever heard of it until now. And is that a standard Bobble Bubble game? I've never seen one like that, then again the only one I've played was the one on the SNES (which involved you shooting balls at other matching ones). (Last edited by QuickMan on 11-17-05 12:59 AM) |

Bust A Move/ Puzzle Bobble was the one where you shot balls to match colors, Bubble Bobble (sequels Bubble Symphony, Bubble Memories, Rainbow Islands, Parasol Stars) you shot bubbles and trapped enemies inside, pop the bubble to kill the enemy. PS and RI didn't use the bubble as a weapon, but rainbows, and an umbrella.
TL 1 came out late in October on the 26th (about 2 weeks or so after Capcom Classics Collection, which I also have), TL2 has no date announced yet, I'm waiting for one. |

Nah, BB is old enough for a younger generation not to have heard of or played it, not a problem at all. |
