Sparda infromed me (when we were going over the evaluations) that he felt Elara just performed better in the fight overall.

I'm not sure if there was a deeper thought behind that that he didn't feel he needed to explain or not, but it really dosn't matter, since the semi-finals have already started, and it's too late to make changes as is.

Certainly.

Here's how I judged the fights...

Basically, it was made very clear that each fight would have only 2 weeks to commence and progress before their inevitable closing; at this point, the judges would come in and decide who would prove to be the victor in each match. While I certainly agree that pacing oneself is very necessary in any fight, not just tournament ones, it was also important to remember that one was fighting under very limited time [ two weeks is hardly enough to dish out anything, in my opinion, unless a fighter goes all out in just one post which is often impossible]. My decision is based on how effectively each fighter used his/her time and whether he/she wasted time during the fight.

Now, honestly, I did not like the Jade vs. Elyk fight at all because there was too much dialogue and babbling going on. One fighter waits for the other to attack, vice versa. It made it impossible to decide who was using his/her time more effectively because both fighters were pretty much wasting it. It's not like I think dialogue in simbattles are bad, it's just that in this kind of situation, I think that dialogue is something that can be done without.

Now, back to what I was saying about the fight. In my view, Elyk would have definitely won the match had the time limit been longer than two weeks. I found that his pacing would have been extraordinarily effective later on in the match had it been allowed to proceed. But the fact of the matter was...the match was 'officially' ended on the 21st since it started on the 7th. Given this information, I analyzed the overall performances of both fighters and decided that under the circumstances that were provided to both characters, Jade's actions were most effective in the simbattle. When I say action, I do not limit it to simply attacks but rather anything a fighter does in the simbattle.

Hope this clears it up somewhat. If not, i'll just continue...if I can.

The Semi fights have come to an end.

Please allow me a day or two to closely evaluate the fights that took place.

Damn, I didn't get a chance to react befor the end... oh well. It was a good fight anyway. Let us know the results as soon as you're done judging.

I think this will be the hardest fight to judge for them so far. We were evenly matched the majority of the battle, in my opinion. I had a lot of fun and I'm glad I was able to battle you, Elara.

I got to say to both of you, that you both did impressive jobs on sim-battling on your part. While both of you pretty much have the judges a harder time to decided who should be the victor of this battle, I pretty much want to say something to both of you.

Elara, I am kinda glad you got this far. You pretty much proves what a female can do, even most people may believes that you will lose the first round. As you kept on fighting, you show more then most other females could participate in this tournament. Heck, you could even show that you may be better then most males who still couldn't stand up to you... Hell, it would be a great honor to fight against you.

Shuyin... You pet detective bastard. (Sorry, got a little off there.)

Shuyin, I am kinda surprised that even with your slight laziness, you always come through... Which really made me wonder "did he have some odd cheese for breakfast or am I imagining that Shuyin just drink pop for breakfast?" Pretty much, I don't see the logic in that. Anyway, I am kinda impressive with your laziness, you still pretty much fight your way through and earn yourself an great rewards as well as Elara did.

Well, looking forward to either of you. Just make sure you are well prepared for the battle with me, since I want you to promise me that we will be fighting an honorable battle.

Congrats Shuyin! I wish you both the best of luck and may the best fighter win. I was talking to Kaijin earlier and he told me the ruling... your posts had more content than mine, that is what it came down to. You're an excellent fighter though, and I had a feeling that it would be you moving on instead of me... you did get me to have to transform afterall.

Perhaps after the tournaments we can pick up where we left off and see what happens?

But yes, I eagerly await the final round to see who the victor is. I'm just honored to have gotten to the semi-finals. All hail the lone girl!

Winning against you surprised me more than winning my battle with Cyro. Your wording is quite intimidating. I felt like I was reading a novel every time I read one of your posts. I thought for sure you'd advance ahead of me.

I'm honored that I was able to battle you and Cyro. I'll definitely finish my battles with you both as soon as the tournament is over.

That is actually the biggest compliment I've ever gotten in this forum. Thank you, Shuyin. It was an honor to battle you as well.

I guess that making all my posts around 1AM is not the greatest idea in the world in tournaments, lol.

I have read about 75% of the battles for the tournament. And, I found that some people definitely outplayed others.

For all intents and purposes I will not go over my battle in the tourny. As to keep this report unbiased.

Round 1

All of the descisions in the battles I looked at, excluding my own, were ended by the three day limit. During it's course, Leon drops from the judging, and all fights are completed, excluding mine.

Round 2

Cyro operated his character smoothly and perfectly to the point of what it can do. His posts were the most clever and best placed in the battle. But, he somehow managed to lose when the tourny went to judgement. Against none other than Shuyin.

Beo performed very well, As did Desroth. I did not know what to exp[ect from this fight, and not having ever fought deroth I was unsure of whether he had any ability. He did in fact have ability, but Beowulf revealed his as well. Beo and Desroth were tied in ability, but according to the ruling made in my fight, where since I was caled out on something twice, Beo should have lost be default. But apparantly, everybody is supposed to get more chances.

Elara clearly was the victor against Elyk, and the judging was made accordingly and done well. (the first time in the tournament.)

Leon broke a very important rule and was DQed accordingly. He falls out of the tournament now.(in his judging duties etc.)

Round 3{/b]

Benja shows some promise during the beginning, but Beo easily surpasses him, in both grammatical skill and Sim-Battle experience. I was not surprised by this ruling.

Elara and Shuyin battle each other. The fighters show an equal amount of skill, but one begins to surpass the other. Reading her posts makes the battle seem more like a poem, graceful and believable. Reading the other's makes the battle appear to be choppy and mismatched. Somehow the onee who was clearly more graceful with words, and skill, loses when the battle goes to judging.

Final Round

Shuyin and Beowulf. The two fighters that made it to the end by either skill or chance. Maybe with a little favoritism on both parts. The battle begins, and both fighters get off to a good start. But Beowulf consistantly pulls out descriptive and coherant posts. While Shuyin contorts with every post, to avoid everything, to use unblockable attacks, or create inpenetrable shields. All without using any sorts of charging, or negative penalties to himself. One fights with Honor, while the other exploits the honor. And when Beo is called out on something that is 'unfair.' BTW combo's are not unfair, and that's what his movement was called, and considered by myself. He drops out because a judge that was notified to a fault in Shuyin's movements, did not respond by the time Beo had to post. So he posted and was told he GMed.

So now, to look at my observations. The two fighters who reached the final round got there from a bias, and the victorious fighter got there from an insane amount of bias, which makes me believe that he was one of the judges.

Well that's a very nice opinion and i'm sure if you were a judge it would have been considered. However I don't know how seriously I can take your judgement on my battles do to your bias against me. We already know how you feel about me so you obviously judged the battles with a considerable amount of bias yourself.

As for all the battles, each fighter that lost was given a valid reason why. Both judges have exceedingly more expierience than you have in simbattling, so i'm quite sure their way of analyzation of the fights are more meritable

As for my recent battle, Beowulf gave up. Unless he was showing a postive bias towards me, (which he obviously wasn't.) then I believe the battle ended because of him. You probably didn't read to far into the battle very thoughtfully or you would have seen that he attacked once. (Before his GM filled post.) I didn't even have to devise a way to defend against the attack because I had a technique (which ability was already stated) that allowed my limbs to defend against weapons. So I don't know where you're saying that I'm avoiding everything.

Basically you're trying to portray me in the most negative light possible. Perhaps someone's still a little peeved about his loss in the first round?

Let me Clarify on Xeios obviously near thoughtless views on how the battles ended.

True Round 1 Ended by time limits. But that usually is how we weed out the ones who acctually WANT to win, and thoes who just exist to waste space.

Round Two
While it was clear Cryo knew how to fight, his actions were not smooth at all. roughly 80% of all his posts where just Computer Diagnosis. While that brings in a unique style, his acctual Fighting Posts were very linier (sp?) and held almost no content.

Beowulf and Desroth both performed equally in this fight, though Desroth began to get the upper hand towards the end. Ultimately what choice the winner was Desroth's sudden use of an unexplained Meteor. Or else it would have been a tie, and we'd probably have to flip a coin x-x

Elara pwned Elyk. Elyk just pulled an Artful Dodger moment, and personally insulted Elara. Person insulting Person, not Character insulting Character, the whole fight.

Leon was DQed, yes. Nuff said.

Round 3
Beowulf would have lost against Benja, if it were not for his countless Illlogical abilites. Benja was DQed, he didn't lose.

Elara and Shuyin both performed greatly. I loved reading this fight, since it had both characters performing near flawlessly. Ultimately, since this was another 50/50 outcome, the only way how we could decide was post lengths. Shuyin has maybe 1-2 lines extra. Otherwise this would have been a great tie to watch.

Final Round
I spent nearly 2 hours arguing with Beowulf, on how he wanted Shuyin DQed for his "Gauntlet", while in turn, Beowulf only hurt himself, since his "Weapon" had no logic behind how it operated At All. Seeing how it was the last round, I wanted to see who could truely earn the title, but it was Beowulf's illogical God Modding Post that ended it in a DQ quickly, after countless warnings.

--

Now then, Xeios. Stop with this idioic "I'll tell j00 t3h Real Truth" crap because you prooved every judge right in DQing you.

Personally, I think both the fighters and the judges are reacting a little bit. I mean, it's a sim-battle, a game. When someone freaks out over losing in a video or board game, people either call them a sore loser, argue back, or ignore them. In my opinion, sim-battling is a game, nothing more. People are arguing, holding grudges, overusing the word "bias" (I've seen it like 200 times ). When I lost in the first round, I merely shrugged. It would've been nice to advance, but I was busy in my real life and forgot to post.

It's just a game. Calm down. Kay?
