Well, if you discovered faith in a higher being, good on you, sir.

Fact: I can't help but find it interesting how many people are getting taken down for accusations of sexual misconduct, and who's coming forward to defend them, their behavior, to victim-blame, etc.

Fact: I have found that humor is my way to deal with nerves.

Fact: My diet has never been all that great, but I do my best... and in the time that I have moved home and not been cooking, my cholesterol has raised for the first time in my life. So looks like I need to up the fiber and try to talk parents into making less fried stuff.

Fact: I am doing well in a series of job interviews right now and I am terrified because there is a light at the end of the tunnel that is my current hell job and I am waiting for it to be snatched away from me again.

No regrets Elara! I hope you land somewhere better and don't look back.

I still get a little giddy when I think about how I walked out on CVS a few years ago... it's fascinating to think of where I am now and none of this wouldn't have happened if I didn't step through the fire of fear and nerves quitting that hellhole. I had a really bad data entry job for 6 months at some point after that too, but once I get my next annual raise in a few months I will be doing really well again alongside one of the most casual and best jobs I've ever had for the last three years.

Definitely not gloating... I hope my experience is just an example of how risks can really work out in the end sometimes.

Yeah, I am hoping this place is as good as it seems. My cousin works for a different branch of the company and has some complaints, but a lot of it is based on changes over 14 years of working there. The big thing is how slow the company does things at the moment. But overall it is a major improvement from retail.

Fact: Working on concrete floors for so long has caused me to develop plantar fasciitis. Another reason for "yay, office job!"

I have plantar fasciitis pretty bad, but it's sort of gone into remission again. They have nice insoles for easing it (I get ones with good arch support and NOT the ones where it's like your heel is on a ball. THAT aggravates it.)

I have an old Apex CRT that looks like this:

It's been around. Was lugged around in the trunk of my old car's back in the day when there were Xbox LAN parties and such. It has a whopping 5 AV inputs and specifically, I've wanted to keep it around because it has one S-Video input too. The picture seems a little out of alignment now though. It's a royal pain to move too, since the front with the screen is 10x heavier than the back. It's always awkward.

I think about getting rid of it and just trying to snag a PVM someday, for my hardcore retro gaming needs. But honestly, I tend to just emulate 8/16bit era thesedays and don't even use this CRT that I've kept around forever all that much... lol

Other than that I just have 3 normal Samsung HDTV's. The 32" was my first HDTV so it's like over 10 years old and probably not worth jack, since it's so thick and heavy haha. My 40" is newer and in the living room. But I dual monitor with my newest 50" in my room. This one was still pre-4K though, so it was like 2016-2017 or something... they're all obviously not worth much but I just keep them around for some reason.

I'd like to get an OLED next. Waiting for those prices to keep dropping bit by bit.

Oh, cool!

Interestingly, my parents have an old 50” plasma that seems to have an S-Video port on the back. I don’t think that really took off in the UK however, but you should still keep the CRT around for convenience’s sake considering how many AV ports there are on the back - a lot of LCDs kinda suck at displaying CVBS video compared to CRTs... that said there’s always exceptions on both sides of the pool.

PVM? I have heard this term before mentioned but never bothered to look it up. Is it some kind of monitor based solution, or the likes of something akin to a Framemeister?

Yep. It kept happening to Rey, the former bass player from Brandon's first band. He would report the plate missing and then when cops ran his plate they'd pull their guns on him because they'd mistake the report for the whole damn car being stolen.

Happened to Bran and me once on our way into Arizona. The shitty car he got from a friend had a plate reported stolen, even though it was attached. *Shrugs* Cops pulled guns on us and everything right before we got to the Colorado River.

Total pain in the ass.

Fact: Even though I don't have COVID any more, my throat is still raspy and wheezing when I'm trying to lay in bed and just breathe. Taking Mucinex for it now.

So we got new plates. Turns out that the stolen plate was on a *gasp* stolen car. They caught it because the had a different stolen plate on the front.

Oye. Just oye.
