You know, I still haven't seen "Zootopia" despite it playing daily on the TVs at work... I really need to borrow it from my friend or find it on Netflix. I've only seen a few snippets.

I highly recommend it, and I don't say that lightly of Disney films these days.

Went to the cheap theater last night and saw the "Magnificent 7" remake. I don't care what the critics who panned the thing say. I liked it, and thought it was pretty freaking enjoyable. Lots of people were shitting on the diversity, saying it was just diverse for the sake of being so, and you know what? It was fucking wonderful either way, even with Chris Pratt throwing in what seemed like a fourth wall-breaking barb about it.

X-Men Apocalypse is a big slip up to me. It was enjoyable, but really long and incredibly fragmented (jumped all over the place for over half the movie). Also... this many movies in, I finally cringed and rolled my eyes a bit at some of the melodrama they continually drill away at (ie is Magneto going to be good in the end? IS HE??? It's a surprise! ) ... and I'm not big on comics, but I liked Apocalypse way more in the cartoon than this depiction. I see some "Mummy" jokes haha. Some characters like Psylocke seemed super underutilized too. Quicksilver was amazing though.

Overall, definitely a lot weaker than First Class and Days of Future Past, but still solid.

I'm assuming the post credits scene was a lead into Logan? Hopefully that one is good.

"Logan" deals with X-23, so yeah, I'm fairly interested to see it.

I still have yet to see "Apocalypse." I've really been dragging feet on all the superhero movies. I feel like the only ones I'm planning on watching in the next couple years are "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and "Wonder Woman." And even then, I likely won't be seeing them first-run.

Right... totally forgot about Apocalypse.

I did, however, see Doctor Strange... and I even did it in IMAX 3D because I wanted IMAX and I figured that if any film would do a good job of utilizing the 3D medium, it would be this one...... and I was not wrong. Plot is kinda formulaic as many critics noted... but still overall entertaining and visually just freaking beautiful.

I keep knocking on these superhero movies then keep watching.

Civil War is about the same quality as Age of Apocalypse to me. Just okay. Tries to do way too much and I'm just getting kind of bored at how glossy these movies look and feel.

Fun watch but I just don't know why I'd ever watch most of these again, so I'm not sure what that says about them.

I've been excited for Infinity War since it's space and crazier stuff, but I'm not sure I feel that optimistic about it.

Most of my friends have seen it now... I cancelled one night I had tickets for it because of the weather. I might just have to solo it haha.

I got bored and read the plot on Wikipedia.

Seems like everyone either absolutely loves it or is going, "Am I the only one who hated it?" on Facebook.

I enjoyed Rogue One. It made me want to watch A New Hope immediately because of how well they had the ending match the beginning to it. Also, K-2 is awesome.

Just saw "La La Land" at one of the movie palaces in Hollywood. It's quite the love letter to Los Angeles. The story's OK, but it's all about the way it's shot.

I saw a few people bickering on Facebook about whether or not it sucked. What exactly is the basics of the plot?

Essentially boy and girl are in L.A., trying to achieve their own show business-related dreams. Girl wants to be an actress and boy wants his own jazz club (because that would survive in Los Angeles -- LOL!!)

At first they don't get along, but eventually they intrigue each other enough during a couple musical numbers that they get together. It's kind of cute.

Boy is approached by John Legend to join a lucrative pop-jazz band, and since boy wants girl to not have to justify her relationship with a poor, failing musician to her mother any more, he joins the band and has to tour and record and tour and record. A wedge is driven into their relationship.

Where it succeeds: the story covers a lot of the struggle of trying to make it in L.A. and the original music's pretty good.

Where it's just too cheesy: well, it's a love story.

If you want to know how it all goes here's the spoilers.

Spoiler:
While boy is in his sell-out band, girl writes and produces her own sappy, one-woman show, which only a handful of people go see. Boy (SURPRISE!) wasn't able to make her show. They break up and she goes home to Nevada.

Boy gets a phone call that some talent scout happened to see her one-woman show and wants her for a part. Boy drives out to Nevada and brings her to the audition. She gets the part. They remain broken up.

Years later, boy and girl have achieved their dreams. She's a famous actress with a husband and daughter. Boy has his jazz club. Girl and her husband happen into the club and boy sees her and begins playing a song he wrote while they were dating.

The scene cuts back to the beginning of the movie, showing how he wishes everything was different and how he shouldn't have brushed her off when they first met, how he should have ignored John Legend's offer to join his band, how he would have been in the audience for her show, and how she'd still be a successful actress with a daughter, but he'd be with her and it would be his daughter. His song ends, it's back to the present. Girl and her husband walk out of the club, boy and girl lock eyes one last time before she exits.

The End.

I was a fan of horror movies. Ever heard of a movie called RINGS which is based on Ringu in Japan? At first I thought it was a reboot or a remake of the American Version called The Ring but when I watched it the story and the main female character is different but I got mixed reactions about it.

I heard its kind of a reboot of the Ring, building on the backstory. Either way though, it doesn't really excite me.

I still haven't seen LEGO Batman, although I want to. Anyone here taken a look at it?

Sat down and watched "Moana." It's good, but it's not a new favorite for me.

It's sort of like watching "Brave." There wasn't really a villain, but there wasn't even a pressure to marry (which was refreshing.) Definitely liked it better than "Brave," though.

So I saw "Logan"... it was good, though it had some of the saddest scenes in a comic book movie I've seen.
