How do I normally phrase it? "Give me the chocolate and no one gets hurt."

It could be the magnesium, or some other compound that your body craves. Or it could be the sugar... I suppose it depends on the type of chocolate. I tend to get cravings for dark chocolate most of the time, myself.

Over in my neck of the woods, I've been getting the worst sinus headaches lately. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, either. I really need to get off my butt, make sure the local urgent care takes my insurance, and go see a doctor. I refuse to get sick right before my vacation!

Yeah, I've been drinking more coffee lately as well. I used to be really into it and then dropped it when it was making my guts go insane, instead favoring tea, but I'm back to it.

Working at Starbucks for a week haha.

But really I've read into some benefits of caffeine over the years, relating to asthma and such. My dad also has his own side business and coffee shop with a friend who roasts his own beans, so it's been around my family a lot and the curiosity was there. I didn't like it much as a kid, but I do now.

Previously soda used to give me really bad insomnia, but I'm pretty sure it's the overdose of sugar content in those that messed me up, so far since drinking coffee lately I haven't noticed anything bad and it does help me wake up and function better for work haha.

Worked with a client who had a seizure on my watch. It was a bit scary at first.

Enjoyed my birthday concert event but things out of hand in the last. I got some water before sleep.

I'm sick. I'd ask someone to sing "Soft Kitty" to me, but I've lost all interest in that fandom.

I never understood that fandom in the first place... but I don't really find the show funny, so that might be why.

I hope you feel better, though.

Thanks. I sort of do after spending the day laying in bed, off and on sleeping. First time I've done that in a long time. Sort of makes me miss being unemployed.

I unintentionally made Brandon cry today.

I was rambling on about my grandparents' funerals while we were running errands. I can't remember how I ended up on that topic. At a certain point I realized I'd been talking way too much and asked him about his grandfather's funeral. He told me a few details I'd never heard before (like how it was on a boat) and then suddenly trailed off. I look over and his lip is twitching. He was wearing sunglasses and driving. I reached over and held his hand and apologized for apparently bringing up a tender subject.

Brandon was 18 at the time and got choked up saying that while they were passing the urn around so everyone could say something to the grandfather, he said he wished he knew him better. At least Bran got to go on this sailing trip to Mexico, just him, his dad, and his grandfather.

He said he'd just never gone over the events of the day before.

Sad to hear. I'm still pretty hurt over the loss of my main grandpa, whom my mom and I lived with together with my grandma for three of the first four years of my life. My mom married my dad when I was 4 and he was in my life before then, but the man of the house was my grandpa before then. When I think of a defining "man", and not in a chauvinistic way or anything like that, he comes to mind. He was just such a great family man and loved me and my family dearly. He eventually lost a battle to his third heart attack. I think he was living off his heart working at 10% for a long time. So it came out of nowhere, and the last time I saw him was walking into a hospital bedroom with tons of tubes and junk plugged into him and I lost it. Never got to properly say goodbye. It still hurts a little because I was in a super serious stage of depression in the last year of his life. He would take me out for lunch or dinner though and it was a nice way to get away from family and everyone else, and even through those dark times in my life he just smiled and was proud of me. I hope to be like him someday.

Phew, guess that made me dump that out.

Thanks for letting it out all the same.

That's pretty much how it all went down with my mother's father, who was one of the people who raised me while Mom and Dad worked full time.

The cycle of life is a weird one. Since then we've had more losses that have kind of broken up pieces of the family as time goes on. But with my sister having her kid it's kind of like a new beginning on the other side and it's made being around the main family more interesting thesedays. He's 3 now though so kind of in that bad mean state, haha, but he loves his uncle!

I hear you on the stress... though I am sure than Brandon is more helpful than Ben and his ultimatums.

I also hear you on the new job thing. Gods, I have almost quit on a daily basis for the last month.

In other news, I've been running on pure caffeine for the last four or so hours. Also, I think that Kaleb has given my cats enough catnip to lure them into being more his cats than mine. *glares at traitorous cats*

Was walking around the Huntington Library members night last night and at least a quarter of the people were playing "Pokemon Go," including Lee. Apparently there are tons of portals, lures, and gyms throughout the gardens. All that beauty and so many people are looking at their phones.

Apparently there's a lure in the center of the Chinese Garden's lake, so there were loads of people with their phones standing along the shores. In the mean time, no one else seemed to notice the six hummingbirds over the lake doing all sorts of tricks and flying really close to our heads.

Last day at my center yesterday. It was Hawaiian Day at work, so I went all out. I had bought leis for my cooking club clients and Kona coffee for the staff. Cut up some of the plumeria in the front yard and filled some of the tiki mugs from my collection with it. Some of my co-workers put the extra flowers in their hair. Brought a couple of my Hawaiian shirts and changed between them from time to time. We made spam musubi. It was all glorious.

In the afternoon, on the way from the from the laundromat with my laundry club, we watched a really crazy car accident while waiting to cross the street. Once we got across, I went up to the old woman in the car that caused all of it. She was bleeding, her arm was completely torn open (muscle and tendons exposed) and her face was bleeding. I talked to her and asked if she had had a medical emergency or anything and she was completely disoriented. I ran back to my DSP and got some of the towels we'd just laundered to apply pressure. At that same time an off-duty cop pulled up and started asking her questions. He told me he didn't have gloves; I happen to always carry a baggie of rubber gloves when I'm working, so I pulled them out and handed him a couple and gloved up myself. I yelled to my DSP to take our clients back to the center while I tried to help where I could by pretty much just being there with stuff. Eventually an ambulance showed up that we were able to flag down (it wasn't one that was called, just happened to be driving by) and so I just headed back to the center. My boss was walking toward the accident to meet with me. I assumed I was in trouble, but she just wanted to make sure I was OK.

One of my co-workers bought me a cake and I said goodbye to most of the clients before I went out to do drop-offs. Got back to the center and most of the people were gone.

I had something of a breakdown once I got home. I cried for a bit, getting terribly choked up about leaving. Anyway, I got depressed enough that Bran and I went to Downtown Disney to go drown my sorrows in rum.

Well this'll be a weird contrast to the previous post.

It was my last day at the new center yesterday. Took my clients to Little Saigon, which is where I broke the news to my Filipino co-worker that it was my last day. I mentioned this in another thread, but it still hurts that I upset him so.

Though the place was hell, I still wish I could take some of these co-workers with me to my old center, but they'd never settle for that commute and less hours.
