I've never had the problem of waking up and not being able to fall asleep, but for me the issue is just initially falling asleep. Takes me a few hours some nights, ugh.

Going through it right now. D'oh.

Brandon tends to sit at his computer until 4 and when he finally climbs into bed, it wakes me up. It's coming up on 6, but I've been up for nearly a couple hours now.

Well... I'll probably play a little of the "Burial At Sea" DLC for "Bioshock Infinite." But then I've got to leave for work around 7:15 and I've got to make my lunch.

You and me both, but my job does have its good days.

Last week, though, I had one of those days where I kept feeling like I couldn't do anything right. They paired me with the client that has psychotic episodes, and of course she had one while with me. I had to take her outside where she kept following me around the yard trying to hit, kick, and spit on me, she broke the mirror on another client's bike that was out there, and she kept screaming obscenities and threats while talking to the voices in her head.

I'm not trained in CPI and am still pretty new and not sure how to assert myself in all situations, so of course I was just acting defensively and walking out of her range as opposed to grabbing her and physically forcing her to do anything. My boss was rather put off by this because it came off like I was letting her chase me around the yard.

Anyway, the police have been coming every week, answering calls whenever she gets really over-the-top insane. They had actually come earlier that day because she was fucking crazy that morning, but her careprovider had her stay and she blew up again on my watch.

While things have gotten "better" since that last post, I'd say in other ways I've gotten worse. Well, at least I won't feel so emotionally invested in it when I find another job in the future.

Well, what's going on with everyone else?

This is my last week at my job and I have nothing concrete planned or lined up.

Saved up a lot and they pay out vacation plus this 401k ESOP plan that turned out to be pointless for me, so I think I'll get by. May even try to take a week off doing nothing before I start looking again. There's this independent game store chain around here I'm going to try to get a job at... crossing my fingers, I think that's something I'd enjoy doing right now. Never liked the idea of working for Gamestop though, don't hear very many good stories.

Basically I'm done giving a fuck about money and want to do something enjoyable and fun.

This has been somewhat of a dreary boring year so far, so this is either going to be a great choice or turn the boredom into chaos.

I'd almost kill for a boring year, at this point.

Christ, I don't even know how I haven't devolved into alcoholism after the past few months. Well, I've been trying to keep good, future things in my sights.

Went in for a doctor's appointment this week to finally address my ongoing dizziness, having to take a half-day off work. She talked to me like I was crazy, kept turning to give Brandon these "You believe this shit?" looks while I'd be talking.

I'd ask to see a different doctor. It could be a thyroid issue, it could be dehydration, or a blood clot, or an inner ear problem or any number of things. Just because she apparently skirted by in medical school doesn't mean you dismiss the patient's symptoms.

I had blood work done following my urgent care visit for it. Blood sugar normal. Thyroid, kidneys, liver, and so on also normal. Just need to work on my cholesterol (which was also a little high the last time I had blood tests done 6 years ago). I also tend to drink at least 2 liters of water a day.

I've got an appointment for an audiologist next month, along with other doctor's appointments they want me to have. It was a bitch scheduling them all for the same day since they're OF FUCKING COURSE only open Monday-to-Friday 9-4 (my work is M-F 8:30 to 4 ). No fucking way I'm taking more than one day off work when I only have so much paid personal leave and I fucking need it to make up for the weeks I'll be gone in September.

I'm such a hypochondriac, at that. I've been stressed out with all this doctor shit, but I've finally got insurance for the first time since college.

Today, I had a client who had a Coke explode in her bag. She's quite the hoarder. As I was going through her bag, cleaning soda off the many things in there like a portable DVD player, Walkman, CDs, notebooks, coin purses, etc, I found a cinnamon roll covered in ants.

She lost her mind when I kept telling her we had to leave her bag outside.

Yep. And my boss too, who practically had to physically restrain her since she was so determined to have her bag with her.

And this isn't even the craziest interaction I've had with clients this week. At least I wasn't in the walking club on Tuesday when one of their clients broke the mechanic's front window down the street. I did end up watching one of the clients going berserk and trying to flip a table while screaming at everyone, though, on Monday.

Thank god it's almost the weekend.

I work at an activities center for developmentally disabled adults. Our clients have autism, Down's syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and many other conditions that make it difficult for them to be independent, so they come to our center to have a place to socialize and learn. Some of them have somewhat severe psychosis, displaying aggressive behaviors, that we just have to work with when they flare up.

The one I mentioned in the previous comment, trying to flip a table, constantly attempts to elope (our word for "escape" or "run away"), and usually he tries to run into traffic. He has done this many times, several after he's declared that he hates his life.

That's cool you're doing that Rogue, sounds like it's probably hectic though like that last point. I know some friends of my family that work for a similar community around here that I've considered looking into. I honestly don't know if I would have the patience for it, to be completely honest. Probably need a lot of tolerance.

I'll admit it can be taxing, but similarly rewarding. All my work troubles tend to be more from co-workers being shitty than from dealing with the clients.

In other news I finally bought another couple pairs of pants. Woo.

I'm putting this here, but I think I have like somewhat of a REAL issue with chocolate cravings. lol

I get chocolate almond milk almost weekly because I can't resist. It only lasts 2-3 days though. Then from there... sometimes I'll just drink some of my coconut milk (which I mainly use for cereal).

I read chocolate is high in magnesium, which interestingly enough I have been supplementing forever anyways since it helps my asthma. Maybe I need more?

Weird. But I want some chocolate NOW!!!!!!

Hah, I felt weird typing that out, since it does sound like women have a more serious issue with it.
