Sorry it's been awhile! I was joking with a friend the other day, it's like you don't even realize how tired you are during finals until afterwards. This week has been hell and I've been done with school haha...

Yeah, definitely took on way too much this semester, going back full time while I work a hellish job with an insane schedule and stress. Been very close to walking out more times than I count at this point thesedays, family stuff is still kind of in shambles.

My dad's grandma passed away but it was for the best. Since he lost his mom last year, her mother was really miserable and wasting away. Then my dad's uncle who was taking care of her, apparently money issues and complaints kept popping up whenever they talked. Ugh...

Nothing really too new or good has happened, so yeah it's just been hell for me lately. Hopefully I can find a new job soon and make 2014 better than it's been so far!

I'm sorry to hear about your great grandma, especially in light of her misery at the death of her daughter.

Well, it's great to have you back. I know the toils of working a fucked-up job while also trying to finish school all too well.

Here's hoping you were getting paid decently. I was operating on my last years at university on a $75/week stipend for my school's newspaper with indefinite hours. Gah.

And yeah, I've been there too in the whole, "I wish I could just walk away from all of this," feeling. But hooray for you sticking with it!

Thanks, I do have another interview this Tuesday. The second agency that's willing to pay more than what I'm getting, so that probably says something. I'll probably be fine without insurance for awhile too, since our insurance at my work gets increasingly worse by the year. I think there were 60 plans to choose from the first year I started in 2012, then it was half that in 2013, and now... there were THREE choices for the HSA plan that they're forcing on everyone. Just bad news across the board.

I hate goodbyes and to leave some of my friends, but I really have to remind myself this is my happiness on the line. I heard this one recently, trying to keep everyone happy is the surest way to be miserable yourself. Time to pack up and move on!

There's an old joke...

A boy, an old man, and a donkey were walking together in the desert.

They come into a town and the people there saw the three and said, "You have a donkey and you're not using him to carry the boy? No child should have to walk long distances like that."

So the boy gets on the donkey and they continue on their way.

They get to a second town. The people there cried, "That's so horrible! You make an elderly man walk, while an able-bodied youth rides? You should switch places!"

So they do. The old man climbs atop the donkey and they head back on out of town.

In the third town they eventually come across, all the people wondered why they BOTH didn't just ride. So the kid climbs up onto the donkey and joins the old man and they ride onto the next town.

At this fourth town they enter (which was apparently peopled with PETA members), the townspeople booed and hissed the boy and old man. "How dare you abuse this poor donkey so, making him carry the weight of the two of you!"

So the boy and old man dismount and start carrying the donkey.

They hobble out of town and continue on like this for some time. Donkeys aren't exactly light so they weren't all that steady in carrying the animal.

Anyway, they come to a rope bridge. The boy and old man make it halfway across, whilst still carrying the donkey, before they lose their balance and the donkey ends up thrown off the bridge and plummets into the canyon below.

Moral of the story:
Spoiler:
Try to please everyone you end up losing you ass.

Ha!

But yes, condolences on your loss. *hug*

I am so with you on the hunting for something better thing. I really hope that I find a teaching job soon. I don't know how much longer I can put up with the insanity that is Sam's Club.

You and me both. I've had three good interviews in the last month though... so hopefully that's a sign something is coming. I'm willing to go with agencies at this point (I mean two have offered higher pay than what I'm getting now, hah), but yeah.

Depending on the people at the agencies, it can be a useful thing when you have no other option. If they have jobs right now that you can just step in to, it's worth at least looking at, but I would wait and see how the interviews go first.
