Originally posted by 7 Heh, no, I've never seen this. But if I had Netflix again, I'd be adding that to the queue. Uh... last film I saw was this short one that Leonard Nimoy made while photographing people for his latest book "Secret Selves." It's pretty interesting, though I felt uncomfortable laughing at someone else's reveal of who they think they really are that they don't show others. Still it was pretty good. |

Just watched The Da Vinci Code. It was like watching Indiana Jones and Last Crusade mixed with National Treasure. It didn't suck.
Definitely take the history referenced with a grain of salt. |

Just saw How to Train Your Dragon after borrowing it from the library. I'm now really bummed with myself for not seeing this in 3D at the cheap theater.
It's quite good. Toothless has A LOT of Stitchisms. When his ears are up, he really looks a lot like little Experiment 626. Brandon and I kept saying this back and forth and then when it went to credits, we laughed and went, "Ha, that's why!" The two guys who created Lilo and Stitch also created How to Train Your Dragon. |

Finally saw Thor. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be, but it wasn't that great either. Loki is his brother? WHAT THE FUCK?!?!
I hear they are making a Rifftrax for it though, and that is going to be awesome. |

Yeah, it's not the greatest for learning and understanding Norse mythology. While Thor didn't suck, it definitely wasn't Marvel's best.
Are they doing ANYTHING with Natalie Portman's character EVER again? Doubtful. Just saw National Treasure all the way through for the first time. It's entertaining, to say the least. |

Just saw Drive earlier today. A pretty damn good movie, but I need to see a couple more times to have a final judgement on it.

Ended up seeing "The Woman in Black" last night with my friend since the people she was going to see it with just went to see it without her saying it's better as a date movie and left her high and dry, alone. Assholes.
Anyway, this would be my first time seeing Daniel Radcliffe where he wasn't a child or a wizard, but just an adult. He was pretty good in it. The movie, however, while it was eerie and all, was filled with a lot of cheap jump scares. Well... I'm no fan of ghost movies. They tend to scare the shit out of me. Finally saw Pineapple Express. It was playing on FX with the bad dubbing over the swear words. Instead of "asshole," they kept calling each other "casserole."
Pretty funny, but I should really see it uncensored. |

Finally got around to seeing Wrath of the Titans... holy crap, what a shitty movie! I don't even know what they were thinking!

Prometheus
... I felt that the cutting out of so much of the film kinda hurt the plot exposition, but it was still interesting. Can't really say more without spoilers. |

Did they really cut out a lot? My friends and I thought the same thing. Like with other Ridley Scott movies, we'll have to wait to see the Directors Cut to see the real deal.

I heard they cut out like an hour's worth of footage.

Huh. I guess I never mentioned going to see "The Hunger Games." I'll briefly go over that, I guess.
I dug the books, and the movie was good, but since the books are written from Katniss' first person perspective I can understand why many things don't translate on the screen or needed to be displayed differently. Everything is basically her thoughts and she doesn't really vocalize much. So yeah, book was better than movie, I'm thrilled to find out who's playing who in the sequels, and I'm looking forward to seeing THG again when it hits the cheap theater. |

Saw The Amazing Spider-Man and Men in Black 3 last night at the drive in... both were quite entertaining. I like that this Spider-Man is the more wisecracking version, but it still seemed like he was too angsty at times. Overall, much improved.
MIB 3... well, it didn't suck like I thought it would. I was quite entertained at parts, so overall, good job! |

Really enjoyed Amazing Spiderman myself, completely blows the other movies away (which have not aged well at all). I liked the actors here way more.

Yeah, I have to agree with you there. The only thing that the old movies really have now is that Toby Maguire just really looks like Peter Parker in the comics... otherwise... yeah....
One of my friends made another observation about the film that I totally agree with... they actually show just how smart Peter is. The last set of films didn't do that... in fact it showed him struggling... um... no? And seeing Dennis Leary as Captain Stacey was made all the more funny because of his role on Rescue Me and my inner comparison to his actions and dialogue. |

So I saw The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX last night... it was pretty freaking awesome and a good overall closing of the trilogy. Though I will totally admit that they annoyed me because it leaves room for another one and they know it.
It had another added amusement for me though since part of it was filmed in Pittsburgh... and unlike watching a film in LA, people here are not used to their city being used in movies so the audience reaction was really amusing at times. Spoiler: Granted, it is really hard not to react when Gotham's football team was played by the Pittsburgh Steelers... very obviously I might add. |

Finally saw District 9. Pretty good, though the ending left much to be desired. Looking forward to the rumored sequel.
Might go see The Hunger Games again tomorrow, pending that it hits the cheap theater this week. |

Originally posted by X Yep, that was them. The crowd was calling out the quarterback's name when it panned across him. Ben and I were curious to know if they knew Heinz Ward would be retired by the time the movie came out when they shot the scene. |
