My aunt, though I love her dearly, is still firmly fixed in the 40s and 50s when she grew up... and apparently in the midwest a lot of the older people still say it. I haven't heard it since I moved here, but I think that is because Ben's mom already went off on people for saying it so they just know better than to use the term around me or Ben. | |||

I fucking HATE that phrase, most especially with how it was validated by things like Boost Mobile ads. It's been one of those questions that I'll hear everywhere, specifically said by people talking into their phone with the speakerphone enabled, holding it in front of them and treating it like a damn walkie-talkie. I don't want to hear your conversation. I don't care! But goddamn you if you think you sound hip saying, "Where you at?" There's just so much wrong that sentence. Another installment of my hatred of Pittsburghese... "Yinz" - which is used for you (singular and plural), your, and you're. The younger generations have recognized how retarded it sounds, and so they say it less... but oh gods it makes my teeth hurt from grinding. "N'at" - it's "and that"... basically their version of "etc". Both of these words are on stickers, t-shirts, hats, and fridge magnets to display "proudly" by the way. Yes, that's right, they are proud that they speak poorly. |

The Top 10 Words That Need to Die, Immediately Here I thought I was the only person sick of "Bromance" and "Man-Cave." Brandon's dad uses "man-cave" way too often to talk about his room at his step-dad's place, where he's living nowadays. Now "Foodie," I'm incredibly tired of that word since so many people on Yelp call themselves that. I only use that word to describe pretentious reviewers who think their inflated opinion is the only one that matters regarding overhyped and expensive restaurants.
