Just watched Predators, I thought it was awesome but I'm easy to please just as long as it's not as terrible as the first AVP...

Toy Story 3 is up next on the playlist.

Just finished "Machine Girl." I'd been meaning to see this for years.

I liked it a lot better than "The Expendables." It's intentionally cheesy. Like if you like the violence in "Kill Bill," "Army of Darkness," or the general over-the-topness of Troma films, "Machine Girl" is pretty fun and just as ridiculous.

Just saw Red on Saturday and I must say I enjoyed it. It had a lot of good action scenes and some really funny moments. Also, I love watching John Malkovich being a nutball, so I tend to like things he is in.

Also saw Machete... it had its moments. That is really all I can say.

Saw "Dark Country" with Thomas Jane fielding questions otherwise. I'd seen the last quarter of it last year, but finally seeing it all the way through does make it better. And I get those nifty, "I see what he did there," moments.

The character Thomas Jane plays in the movie is named Richard/Dick. I laughed so hard and asked him about the connection to "Hung." Since he made "Dark Country" first, he laughed too.

So, I finally saw Kick Ass.

I haven't read the comics at all, but the movie is damn awesome. I was genuinely surprised by the amount of gore, though.

Spoiler:
When Kick Ass goes to stop Rasul and Hit girl shows up, my jaw dropped in utter amazement. Gotta love the music playing, too

I really like the movie, and will probably pick up the book. Cairoi informs me that he is a Heroes fan in the book

It's more that he makes a crack about the subpar nature of season 2.

I like the movie better. In either case, Hit Girl kicks far more ass.

I just picked up the first issue of "Kick-Ass 2." I liked it. Starts out with Hit Girl beating up on Kick-Ass. Who's not going to love that?

Yeah, Hit Girl is my favorite. I'm kind of interested to see what happens to Red Most, too..

They implied a sequel for the movie. There's obviously the second book, so maybe..?

Yeah, there's only 8 (well, now 9) issues out. The first 8 issues make up the first graphic novel, which is the story for the first movie.

It took Millar a long time to churn out Kick-Ass, and he tends to just release a new issue when he feels like it.

Seeing Kick-Ass 2 now actually surprised me. I wasn't expecting to see it for another year or so.

Just finished watching "Zebraman." It's pretty amusing.

Pretty much this guy is a fan of this old TV show, "Zebraman." He makes himself a costume and starts fighting crime in it. As the movie goes he starts developing abilities and eventually powers.

Cross pollinate "Kick-Ass" with Japanese monster movies (particularly when you have someone like the Power Rangers fighting them) and you've got "Zebraman."

Just watched When In Rome, mostly because I'm sickly, not feeling well, and needed a romantic comedy to make me feel better, not because I had a particular interest in seeing it. It was okay. Funny in all the right places, and not really all that sad actually. Jon Heder was ridiculously funny in it.

Now I need to find another sick day movie. Or I could work on my NaNoWriMo...

Finally got around to seeing "Inception" in the cheap theater tonight. I don't understand why people were so confused regarding whose dreams they were in regarding the layered sections.

Yeah, it was definitely fun wading through the puddles of sarcastic and brilliant teenagers just outside of the theater shouting, "It was all a dream, sike!! Hahaha, stupid Matrix rip-off!!!111!!!1!!!!"

The last two movies I saw were "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and "The Girl who Played with Fire" now just waiting for "The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest" (I think that's what it's called.

Very interesting movies from Europe, I need to read the books next.

Just finished "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy" and I had heard it was different from the book and that people didn't like it much, but I was just expected that to be because it was such a fabulous book that no movie could compare..

But no, the movie wasn't really that good. I know it's old, but some of the effects and costumes were shit. It was completely different from the book. The characters (except for hottie mc. hot hot) were unrelatable and annoying.

I think.

I started trying to watch "La Dolce Vita." I'm just not seeing what everyone loves so much about it. There are a few scenes that were pretty good, but I ended up turning it off.

Pretty much the scenes with Sylvia seemed like the only things worth watching.

I love that movie. But then I love stories and history of the old west. Visited Tombstone, Arizona. That place is like Disneyland for western enthusiasts.

I'd take Doc Holliday over Captain Jack Sparrow any day.

Watched "Sherlock Holmes" today. It was OK, but I wasn't as amused with it as I thought I'd be.

I'm not sure how or why people say it's steampunk. There are no forms of technology that wouldn't otherwise exist in that period that are running on steam. I guess, because people go, "Oh, Victorian London. Bravo, that's steampunk!"

It's more electricpunk, if there's a word for it.
