It's all about Wrestlemania

Bitmap, cmon, we all know this is fake as all hell
So is movies. Anime. TV Shows. Etc. Wrestling is just men beating up other men.

But it's FAKE!
Just go with it. Fuck you

Why should I be interested in Wrestling?

Well, this comes down to your own personal taste. If you like fictional fighting. Then you have come to the right place. But this isn't all about fighting. It gets deeper. Which you should definitely check out.

Stone Cold giving up the beer to John Cena? FUCK THAT!

John Cena is prolly one of the best Wrestlers out there right now. When Stone Cold gave up that beer, he ment it. To be honest, Stone Cold just could not live up to the reputation he made when he started. Nowadays, he guest shows on WWE RAW.

Does the Undertaker still have his streak?

Yes, in fact. Shawn Michaels challenged him in Wrestlemania. Which I have watched. Undertaker still has the streak for the most won in Wrestlemania. But vs Shawn? You have to see it to believe it!

Shawn Michaels Vs The Undertaker. The Streak vs The Career. What a fight that was!
Spoiler:
Undertaker wins

There is no story to this TV bullsh-
Yes there is. Believe it or not there is. It's like watching your favorite TV show. Wrestling has a story behind it that is easy to pick up and easy to follow. New to this whole deal? Catch RAW every monday night on your local listings. You won't regret it.

Got anything cool to show us?

Wrestlemania is the Superbowl of Wrestling. And they will be here in ATL in 2011. Hell yea

I turned it on a few Fridays ago and I saw that the Undertaker brought back Paul Bearer and he was feuding with Kane again so I've been tuning into Smackdown to see how that plays out, but other than that I really don't care for it. I'd also like to add that I hate John Cena. I started hating him right around the end of his feud with Edge and when he started to feud with Shawn Michaels.

Reserve the new WWE 2011 at your local GameStop, and get 20 bucks off either the Survivor Series or that other one, **kicks self for this blasphemous brainfart.**

Yeah, I totally told my nephew that I'm getting his 20 dollar voucher thingie. XD

I love wrestling. So what if it's fake? It's part of the charm. It's a testerone injected soap opera. Fucking awesome.

False. I enjoy fictional fighting to the utmost. I am a frequenter, when I have time, to the Simbattle Arena, as well as other things. Wrestling is not enjoyable to me. After watching UFC, it just seems like the Twilight of fighting.

Phoenix, how can you compare that?! Okay, WWE isn't real. So what? What makes guys ACTUALLY beating the shit out of each other more entertaining than guys pretending to? It's just as difficult to fake a fight, and make it look as realistic as the guys in the WWE do, than it is to actually fight someone. Not to mention, they have to be conditioned just as good as a MMA fighter.

Furthermore, it's SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT. Hence the storylines and soap opera-esque aspect of it. If the realm of sports entertainment has degraded to the point where the entertainment comes entirely from two overly-muscular men beating the hell out of each other, our society has a problem.

Mortal Kombat. Fight Club. Boxing.

Okay, to be serious. The fights don't even look real. Sure, there's some (bad) acting and everything, but someone like Will Ferrell could easily complete those stunts. Not saying he's a bad actor, but you get my point. I simply cannot get into it.

Okay, first of all, have you SEEN Fight Club? Senseless violence was not at all what that movie was about. It was a philosophical/existential masterpiece. You can't really compare MK because it's a video game...the point of this was the difference between MMA and WWE (real fighting and fake), so I don't see how MK plays into that. And yeah. I have the same problem with boxing as I do about UFC.

As for your other point...I agree. Lately, the fights do look a bit conspicuously fake, but back in the day, they sold it VERY well. And as for someone like Will Ferrell being able to do what these guys do...you must be crazy. The conditioning that those guys have to be in to be able to do some of the insane shit that they do without killing themselves is not something to be taken lightly.

For the first part of your post, you should realize that I was joking. Except for boxing. You'll get your ear bitten off.

Maybe back in the day, but that is only because we have seen better and more realistic things since.

Any special effects from 10 years ago in a movie may have looked amazing and realistic then, but now that things such as Avatar and other movies with amazing effects exist, we go back and laugh. We have developed.

I'm not saying wrestling has not. I'm sure it looks much more realistic now than before, but people can tell the difference now-a-days.

As for me statement about Will Ferrell, I did not mean him specifically. What I meant was that any actor could easily reproduce their effects, if not better. Sure, it would take training, but all actors train for their roll. Michael era learned how to sword fight for Scott Pilgrim in the matter of a week. Give him 2 and I'm sure he could fake most of the crap they do. They stay fit and muscular so there is less chance of getting hurt, along with the fact that they are supposed to look like that. Anyone can fake what they do.

Really? Anyone could do it? So you're telling me that anyone in the world, with enough training, can become a coordinated, talented athlete? So if Michael Cera went out and practiced for two weeks, he could lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl as our starting quarterback? Because that's essentially what you're saying. Or, to turn it around, if Michael Vick went out and had enough training, he'd win an Academy Award? I don't think so.

As for the thing you said about how it looks faker now because we've seen better...I disagree. I have old wrestling tapes, from the late 90s and early 2000s that I still watch occasionally. That all looks better than what I see on Raw or Smackdown now.

Agreed. There was a lot of classic moments that really had people flinching. Wrestlemania 26 really did this.

Yeah, I would love to see people do this on UFC.

I'll never forget the Triangle Ladder Match for the Tag Team Titles between the Hardy Boyz, The Dudley Boyz, and Edge & Christian at Wrestlemania 2000. Shit was INSANE.

Why do so many threads start like a FAQ with made-up questions?
Because he's silly.

Also WWE you so crazy...I really got nothing else.

I been watching WWF (Before WWE) since 1999 and been watching it 10 years straight. Even though it's entertainment, I still enjoy watching it. Sometimes I watched RAW on Mondays.
