Heh, she's definitely not hard on the eyes.

I'm quite impressed with her actually. Since she's a teacher, she's been saying that while she and Joe are living in Washington, she's going to go teach at a local community college. I mean, can you imagine? The Second Lady not just sitting around, lapping up the good life, but teaching at a community college? Outstanding!

Snowboarding. I tried a couple times a few years ago and suck. I went last month and did friggin' great. I can only perform well sliding frontward, but can go sideways fast for a few moments before I had to avoid hitting other people.

Neither. **waits to he thwapped** Dunno why. Was never fond of that type of music. I still give new things a shot though. Sometimes I don't like a type of music in general, but once in a while a particular song or specific artist pops up and I'm in love.

I used to be terribly afraid of vacuum cleaners, lawnmowers, and weed-whackers. I kept thinking they were all instruments of torture that when I got to close to them, they'd hurt me.

Have you ever watched a documentary on someone, got most of the way through it, and became annoyed that this person is considered note-worthy enough to have a boring documentary about them?

*In answer to my own question, I was watching a doc on comedians, they got to Joan Rivers and she had a very stupid bit about the 9/11 widows getting checks for $5 million. Her comment was pretty much that your husband was not worth anything, so how nice is it that now you have $5 million and no husband? She kept going on about how smart and edgy she was in the after-interview.

There's a difference between being smart/edgy/saying something that everyone's thinking and just being a fucking bitch, Joan.

Many times. Often times it's against the Spanish explorers/conquistadors. Hell, even just the Spanish in general sometimes with the Inquisition.

Pretty much songs that you would probably never hear on the radio, are strange and/or controversial, and almost never mainstream. These days songs by artists before 1980 seem to also fall into the off-beat category, especially if it's something even the oldies station won't play.

Ah... so most of what I listen to (yay Power Metal)

1) "Time Stands Still" by Blind Guardian
2) "Closer to Coma" by Videodrone
3) "Still Alive" from Portal (kinda mainstream in a way but not really)
4) "Dr. Online" by Zeromancer
5) "Internet Porn" by Da Vinci's Notebook

Have you ever had a moment where you've lost all faith in public education?

My own example on that is from the other day at work (parking lot for Cabrillo Beach and the Cabrillo Aquarium). A grown man, obviously there for a college class, asked me where the "aquarenum" was. It still exasperates me when I think about it.

YES!! I did indeed. Brandon and I went to a Civil War re-enactment last Saturday. After the first battle this guy came out asking people in our area if they had any questions about what they just saw.

This guy raises his hand and asks, "So the British won?"

The historian explains, "No, that side was the South and this other side was the North."

*Man looks at him confused.* "So the 'South' won the war?" (The Confederates won the battle that was just re-enacted)

"No, this was just a battle in the war. Not the whole thing."

"So when did the British come in?"

"They didn't. Both sides were American."

"Why'd that happen?"

The historian then starts trying to explain the causes and issues of the Civil War. The guy was also in what looked like his late-40s and he had kids with him.

If you found out you were dying this week, would you plan out your funeral?

To an extent... like, enough to say I didn't want it in a church and that I what I wanted for burial arrangements or whatever. Otherwise I think I would mope a bit and then go off and do fun things.

On a side note, I think your experience trumps mine totally... and as a history major I want to hit that man with a cinder block.

Do you have a preference between beer and hard liquer and if so, which and why?

Seriously, no exaggeration, the guy went to a friggin' Civil War re-enactment and couldn't wrap his brain around Americans fighting each other.

In answer to the question, I've been drinking beer more lately, though I don't drink that often these days. It just seems that if I drink too much my stomach hurts, no matter how much I've eaten or what have you. Sucks because I've never actually been drunk before (not that I'd like to be), but I have had several great buzzes in my life. These days, it's actually kinda hard to get buzzed since I usually stop before my stomach hurts too badly.

Anyway, for some reason if I just drink beer most of the time it doesn't hurt too badly and I can get a nice buzz if I drink enough.

Then again, other than wine and beer, I haven't really had any liquor in the past year. I just haven't felt the urge to drop $6 on a Jager bomb any of the times I've been in bars lately.

What's the last movie you got really into, like completely engrossed and desperately wishing for more?

What about all those times we had hard liquor at your parties? Ok, well there was that one time at least... fucking "flaming Dr. Pepper"... damn you little Tom!

Sorry... distracted... movies that I really got into, hmn. It really happens more to me with TV shows than movies (eg: Deadwood). I really get into series movies like Harry Potter or the Lord of the Rings, but that is because I am a fan of the books and want them to move onto the next chapter, or to not cut things out. In that regard I would say Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. In terms of movie that I got most engrossed in I'd say Lord of the Rings as a whole... as I started learning how to say things in Elvish. But in terms of a single movie that I really got into while watching and desperately wanted to know what happened later even though there was nothing written elsewhere about it (other than fanfiction) I think I would have to say Stardust. I know there will be no sequel to it, but I really would like to see more of what happens with the main characters and the world and everything else.

Sorry for my rant, but I wanted to cover all bases.

If you had the chance to be a member of a fantasy race (Elf, dwarf, hobbit/halfling, dragonkin, etc) would you? Which would you chose?

Oh I definitely used to drink hard liquor, but I haven't really touched the stuff in quite some time. I think the last time I had a shot of Jager was that one time when we ran into Jayarre, Justin, and Jason at the Shorehouse and they were celebrating Jason's 21st. I bought him a shot, which he turned down, and I drank it myself. Even after eating, my stomach hurt after that.

But as for getting drunk, I'd never even been buzzed at my own house parties. I did, however, feel really sick after that flaming Dr. Pepper. Like all the carbonation had just gotten to me, as it did Pat. I felt better after standing in the bathroom for a few minutes.

The closest I've ever been to just being flat-out drunk was at a friend's party where I'd downed what would have equated to an entire bottle of rum--a whole lot of Tattoo, Sailor Jerry's, and Private Stock--over the course of the night. I still remember everything and wasn't throwing up, but damn if I could ever do that again without getting violently ill these days.

It seems once I hit 21, my stomach's tolerance went out the window. My head's fine, but my gut's a pussy.

I was quite surprised when I drank a whole big bottle of sangria at Pat's party and didn't get a stomachache out of it.

Heh, I was distracted too.

Hobbit! Well, probably because I am one already. I mean, I'm short, I go barefoot everywhere, and I have no interest in the lives of the big people. That and we just drink and dance and smoke and laugh and eat and grow things and have a merry old time out in the shire.

I do, however, wonder what it would be like to be an oceanid or perhaps a Q or Bajoran (since I would totally fight for the Maquis) on Star Trek.

Have you ever been stung by a bee, and if so, how would you describe it felt like?

Ran without stopping, I assume? I think back in high school I was able to go around the track one and half times without needing to stop because I was too tired to keep going or out of breath. That's about 3/8ths of a mile, I reckon.

Yeah, I'm lame.

Have you ever been offended by something that didn't apply to you?

*Went to a Native American pow wow last weekend. During the dancing, this woman (happened to be Caucasian) next to Brandon and me kept clapping her hands and shouting over the singers, "Heeeeeya ho-ya heeeya hiya hoya!!"

We really had no idea what to think of it.
