I am now watching this. This show has a lot going on (hence the title), but I love the style and it hasn't had any slow moments yet (I'm still just on Ep. 5, though). I like the OP, and Isaac and Miria are great.

OP's definitely one of my favorites!

And we totally need an Isaac / Miria spinoff.

Really great series. I think it's something you have to watch fairly quickly to really enjoy, but maybe that's just me. Has some nice twists. Apparently the short series is just a small part of the whole manga/story though, definitely wouldn't mind seeing more.

Um, yeah. I can't even put it into words how crazy it's gotten.

It's going to suck waiting a whole week for the finale.

<3 Grace, even though she's one evil villian.

Grace, pretty twisted villian.

But yeah overall it's a great show. A little more on the drama/romance side of things, but the action is pretty epic. The mecha is CG but for once, it actually looks pretty damn good, very top notch visuals here.

If you watch it though I'd say watch some of the other Macross series first if you haven't, like Zero (only 5 episodes) and the Do You Remember Love movie. Frontier has a good amount of homage to the previous shows since it's all connected. It ends next week along with R2 and the season.

I'm really liking Macross Frontier as well. It has a lot of romance, which I wasn't expecting in a mecha (now that I'm so used to Gundam and Code Geass).

I've never seen any of the other Macross series and I did fine, but I do wish I had seen some of the others.

and Grace is <3.

Yeah that's a pretty big focus on all the Macross shows, romance. I'd definitely look into some of the other ones when you get the time. The Do You Remember Love movie is really great, I'm currently watching the original series too. If you can get past the dated animation, it's been really good so far.

So, besides having never seen any of the following:

- Trigun
- Gungrave (Well, I have seen some, right now Brandon just became "Beyond the Grave") YOL BRANDON!
- Any Gundam series
- Tenchi in Tokyo (I have seen the rest, diddnt hear good things about Tokyo)

I can say that I am offically into the rare types of anime out there.

Gantz, for starters, is a good series, Clock IM'd me about it, and I kept trying to convince him that the manga is a billion times better than the anime. But no~, you wont listen to me! Highly recommend, but after you watch the Anime, check out the Manga for an added "Holy shit" factor.

Baki the Grappler is one fucked up fighting anime. If you never seen it, you are really missing out. Everything about this anime is good. Highly recommend it

Desert Punk is OK, kinda funny, kinda good. It has its ups and downs. Recommend to if you have nothing else to watch.

Requiem of the Darkness is a mindfuck from hell, but still pretty good. Horror meets action. Somewhat recommend

Magical Shopping Arcade Abanobashi, I would not say its rare, but its still excellent. Highly recommend.

That's all I have right now, but every week my friend sends me good anime to check out that I never heard of before. So I am sure to have more.

Edit- Also, one word: Goldenboy

Goldenboy is good, very good. Go watch it. Now.

Golden Boy is two words.

Mainstream animation:
Chowder, Flapjack, Mighty-B, Spongebob, Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Anime (and equivalents):
Master Keaton, Cowboy Bebop, Negima!?, Negima!

Live Action:
Sailor Moon

Um, I think that's it. I watch a smattering of other things, but most of those are religiously.

From what I know the anime vs manga situation with Gantz is basically like Trigun, Berserk, and Claymore. Basically the anime is only a short part of the whole story and so it's kind of essential for those to watch it to continue on reading. I've only done this with Claymore though... (which is like DBZ with swords, demons, gore).

Baki from what I saw was hilarious. I just remember watching it at a friends house a few years ago and there was this fat guy flying around all these trees. It was hilarious. Seemed pretty over the top.

Deserk Punk seems cool, I've heard of it. Might look into it sometime.

Magical Shopping Arcade Abenoboshi, oh god this series is hilarious. I saw it on TechTV several years ago (dubbed, but hey the bad dubbing made it even more awesome). It's a pretty unique show, only 12-13 episodes long or so too.

Also dude, you should watch Texhnolyze, if you like funked up shows. It was one of the first anime's I watched this year and like 50-100 shows later, it's still one of the most fucked up series I've ever seen (the ending is like a punch to the face). The premise is a lot like Gungrave, but it's crazier, darker, more gruesome, etc. The first episode has no dialogue from what I remember, very ambient and subtle driven. It can be a hit or miss for some, but if you like Gantz and whatnot you'd probably dig it, it's only 22 episodes.

I really have to stress the gore factor. The main character loses an arm and a leg at the beginning and you see him stumble around for a few episodes, crazy stuff.

Stich - Have you seen Monster? By the same creator as Master Keaton.

We use one word for the title for Goldenboy, I did think about it being two, but whatever.

@ Xeo: Technolize, Yeah, It started out very slow, but it did become very...strange. Only on Episode 3 at the moment, my friend "Buddy" had me watching it one day and it was a little over the top. Still good though. He has me watching something new every time I see him.

"Dude, you have to check this shit out, its a mindfuck from hell".

Me - "Erm, awesome".

We have a stack of like 20 DVD's each of nothing but AMV's, and if we see something that we never see before, we get our hands on it.

One day we watched Lupin the movie, and found out that David Hayter voiced Snake. Was pretty funny watching it and not thinking about it the whole time.

We had an idea to make a commentary of the best and worst anime's out there, we come up with some hilarious shit. Look forward to that sometime this Winter.

Also Xeo, if you get a chance, check out Battle Angel. I think its only 2 episodes long, but its very good. Kinda reminds me of Bubblegum Crisis meets Tenchi or something.

Nah, not those two, its just really really good.

Xeu: No, but will look into it. My friend suggested Master Keaton because the character reminded him of me. 'Cept, I'm no where near as cool. At least not anymore. Maybe.

I gotta find the rest of Master Keaton, though, because Amazon.com doesn't have the second disc, and I think I'll just torrent it or something.

No, I do torrent things. But every now and then I like to own the physical copies of things to have on my shelf and watch on the big screen (even though it does have a VGA port on the TV, and my lappy has digital 5.1 Dolby surround).

But, that's mostly how I get my Torchwood and Doctor Who fix, among other things.

So many animes ended recently and I've started several more romantic comedy's. Rosario Capu2 being one... Which is starting to bug me, there's toooo many panty shots. The manga's much better.
