The clinic was already alive as the first beams of light broke over the horizon. Helena was being strapped to an operating table, feeling the distinctively cold sheets on her back.
A man walked into the room with an unmistakable presence. The wiry, quiet man was obviously The Surgeon. "Begin preliminary evaluation one. We have orders to complete the operation as soon as possible." Everyone was infused with a sense of destiny as the light poured into their cells. Some, like Henry, looked to the sun with dread. Others, like Lycaon and Marionette, grinned at the future ahead. At the end of the peninsula, an army had been assembled. Their mission was to draw the guards through the series of gates to fight them. Essentially, the army's mission was to be a distraction. Everyone felt the first gate explode. Everyone saw the huge chunks of debris flying into the clinic, tearing into cells and blowing open walls. A few guards and inmates were crushed, but so it goes. The guards dashed towards the gates, leaving the prison almost vacant. Kowalski stepped out of his cell. The door had been torn open. He surveyed the scene and laughed. "Huh." |

STOOOOP!! Went through her head. She put the sheets down and jumped off the table.
Elsie blinked and looked forward as the light shone. "Wow.... pretty..." She looked at her door. Was it open? Was she going to get out? Elsie ran forward and blinked. She put a hand on her cell door then followed the walls all the way to a hole. Elsie's eyes opened wide. So.... revenge now huh? She rubbed her hands together. Sounds like a plan to me... She walked through the hole into the hallway seeing Kowalski. ".... Ko...wal...ski..." She said silently. Elsie ran up to him. |

A cheap grin was upon Marionette's face, all plans were under way. He stood promptly in his cell, had the guard nearby him open the gate, and walked with a sense of purpose. Time to step up the action. Quickly taking a corner, Marionette shadowed the bright light entering Kowalski's torn up cell.
"Hello sir, I see you are already well aware of today's show. But, I think that you are the kind of man who would love, absolutely love to know what's going on behind the scenes. Well, in an underground lab, coincidentally forty or fifty feet below your cell, there is an experiment going on. An experiment which, if not interrupted, will drain what is special about us away. They are manufacturing something which will take the powers away from an individual, permanently. "You might think to yourself, what can I do? Well, I shall solve that little riddle for you." Marionette tugged on a small string which was hanging off of his puppet, and suddenly, Kowalski was inspired with willpower, freeing him from the grasp of the Noxadrain. "Now, go and do what you do best. Elsie, my dear. My offer is still good, I shall train you in the art of control if you'd like, though you might want your powers back first." Another string was tugged, and the same effect was inspired in Elsie. Marionette closed his eyes, and pulled on several strings hanging off of the puppet at once. These strings were small, and thin like hair, but never seemed to go anywhere or come from anywhere. Suddenly, chaos erupted in the prison, as everyone, meaning Everyone in a sudden rush and wave of enlightenment, regained their powers. And all their hatred, disgust, and malcontent, would be directed at the officials who ran this prison. |

Kowalski stood, silent, as Marionette restored his powers and told him of the plot transpiring in the medical ward.
"It infuriates me, but I see my place in the grand scheme of all this. Have fun on the outside, you freaking bastard." And so he took off. His superdense body tore through layer after layer of steel, making his way through to the underground surgery room. He stopped only to slam guards into walls, and would continue moving before the guards hit the ground. He finished the last flight of steps and turned towards the door. For the first time in several years, he let loose an audible gasp. Standing like a sentry before the colossal steel walls was the aging warden, chain gun in his hands. "My entire life's work is being culminated behind these doors. If the surgery is a success, alive or not, I will never be forgotten. You super felons will be a thing of the past. Not even God could stop me now." Kowalski stood frozen in place for just a moment, the two's eyes locked in place. The second Kowalski dashed forward, the warden pressed the trigger. Kowalski felt bullet after bullet slam against his body. Despite being pelted with bullets, he continued his march forward. His superdense body slowly began tearing apart. He could take any one bullet with no problem, but this many bullets proved to be a bit of a problem. The warden screamed in fury until he noticed Kowalski's determination, and his rage gave way to fear. With a great heave of force, Kowalski ripped the chain gun in two, leaving the warden still with fear. Without skipping a beat, Kowalski slammed him against the steel wall, leaving an indent. It was apparent Kowalski's breath was labored, but he managed to release a bloodied grin. "You're a blasted fool. If it weren't for men like me, your heroes wouldn't exist. Villains keep heroes in line, just as heroes keep villains in line. It's a fucking balance. Without it, your fucking heroes wouldn't serve your fucking kind. You'd fucking serve them. By keeping them busy, we keep you pricks free. Now, if you don't mind, I've got an operation to stop." He tossed the warden's battered body down the hall and turned to the door. Normally, this wouldn't be that much of a problem, but with the amount of blood he was losing, he knew that breaking this door down would shorten his life considerably. Inside the room, everyone was still. They had heard the chaingun start and stop firing. It was mere seconds before they put the patient under. The nurses screamed as the door's reinforced steel bent, the sound filling the room. And with one last blaring rip, Kowalski broke through the massive door, his blood and sweat dripping onto the ground. He pointed at the Surgeon. "You're the only one alive who knows how to perform the surgery." The Surgeon quickly realized what that fact entailed, and he scrambled for the pistol on the other side of the room. "Go ahead and see if one more bullet can stop me!" Kowalski said, walking slowly towards his target. The nurses ran out the room, screaming again when they saw the warden's dying form. The Surgeon turned and unloaded the entire clip. Though Kowalski twitched with each shot, he continued on. He lifted the Surgeon and slammed his head against the wall, smashing his brain and the secrets it held against the cool stone. Lumbering over to Helena, he untied her restraints. "You alright?" Meanwhile, in the courtyard where all of the villains began to assemble, the familiar face of Penn stepped out from the shadows, his body gleaming with energy. "Let's get this settled. You're either with me or the Marionette. Decide quickly." |

Elsie looked over at Marionette and then at Penn. Her mind began to crash into a huge wave of thoughts. The ground around her began to rumble as she walked forward. Her eyes widened. The stress began to cover her. What's this? She thought. In the courtyard trees began to burn down as she looked at them. Elsie fell to the ground. The grass began to die around her. Elsie's head began to hurt. Her eyes began to go red. Her skin grew paler. Elsie looked at her hands. She began to flash back.
"What? An affair? How could you Mary?" "Steven, I'm sorry, it just happened... I don't know what was going through my mind." "Mary, what about Elsie? What about us? You ruined the sacred trust we had... just to fulfill what I could've helped you with when I came back with in that month...." "Steven... I'm sorry..." "Mary, it's not me you should be appologizing to. It's Elsie... Because of this I can't see you the same, and I'm going to have to deal with this?" "Steven...." Elsie's head began to crash with memories. "Mary... I can't deal with this anymore. We're growing apart." "What are these?" "They're divorce papers.... Because of you broke my trust... again." "What? What are you talking about?" "Elsie told me... She sees you hanging around other guys all the time when I'm on tours. You've grown so close to one man that you don't even talk to me anymore. What are you doing Mary?" "What? What did she see? How did she see it?" "Elsie is around... everywhere... She sees you when you don't know it. Don't you know your own child?" "Tell me what she saw!" "Elsie... come out..." "Mother... I saw you... with other men... When Daddy was gone away. You were kissing another man...." "Elsie!" A loud slap was heard. Elsie flashed back to reality and put a hand on her cheek. "She caused this.... She caused all this..." Elsie looked at Penn. "What will you do? How will you help?" |

Helena gasped as Kowalski unbound her.
"Don't touch me!!" She shrieked and whirled about looking for something to cover her exposed arms. |

Kowalski stepped back and released a hybrid of a cough and laugh.
"Calm down, honey. You think I just took this many bullets to hurt you? No, I'm here to rescue you. Calm down." His bleeding was getting worse. |

"Oh, no, it's not that," She said, spying a lab coat hanging on a hook in the corner, going to it and taking it down.
"I just..." She paused to don to coat, "... Didn't want to hurt you." She returned to him, hands jammed in her pockets. |

Kowalski looked down at his battered form. "There's not much left to hurt. So, mind doing me a favor and telling me what your name is?"
He slowly sat on the bed, grimacing. "I'm not a rescuing damsels in distress kind of guy, so who you are kinda matters." |

"It's kind of a long story and as I'm sure you and I are both in a hurry, I'll try to make it quick," she started, as she stared at the floor to avoid eye-contact with her rescuer.
"My name's Helen, or Helena, whatever you want to call me, it's not important. I'm over 3000 years old. Skin-to-skin contact with me transfers life from others, so try not to touch me. You can tell me who you are as we get out of here. Let's go!" Turning to look at Kowalski, she noticed he was bleeding rather severely. "Hey, um. Are you going to need to fix that first?" Marionette strolled down the hall, his plan was in full effect, gates were being torn off of cells, people were being freed left and right, all he did was restore things to their proper place, the destruction was a side-effect. He came to a cell which was completely clean, almost perfect, and the gruff, tough, man sitting inside of it, patiently waiting to be freed. The guard toting along with Marionette unlocked the cell, and swung the gate open swiftly. The man stood up, towering over Marionette.
"Lycaon, my friend, let us tear down these oppressive walls. Let some light in." With a light and cheery whistle, Marionette parted from Lycaon, leaving the guard behind, one who had insulted Lycaon several times, as a parting gift. Marionette knew Lycaon owed him big time, and there would be a time and a place for favors to be called in. In the courtyard the heroes who held down the fort as guards were being slaughtered left and right. Predictable, when faced with a true threat, coupled with numbers, the guards fell off their pedestal really quick. |

"I'll catch up to you. I think I'm going to see if I can patch myself up here. Just follow the bodies and you'll find you've got an easy escape ahead of you."
Kowalski looked over at Helena and grinned. "I rescued you not because it was you, but because as a superhuman, you were born to be above humanity. There's no reason to conform to their laws. We live in a world above them, and it will always be that way. So, when you get out of here and live life, be proud that you're not the norm. And if something like this ever happens again, stop it." Kowalski smiled for a moment longer, then his voice became fierce and commanding. "Now go!" |

Lycaon cared not for the guard, he was meaningless. He stepped forward, into the rays of fresh, unadulterated sunlight. He reached up and grasped his prison shirt by the number printed across the breast. With a violent motion he tore the oppressive symbol off, revealing the patchwork of skin covering his body, six points conjoining on his chest, slightly off center to the left. At this point was a tatooed, six-pointed hexacle. The tatoo began to glow green, and arcs of lightning began arcing across his chest and down his arms, conjoining at the palms of his hands. He held them up, pointing towards the concrete wall before him. The energy crackled, and unleashed before him, a torrent that tore through the barrier. He stood in the opening, overlooking the battle below him. Villains, heroes, revolutionaries, all clashing below him.
"Men of the Hyperion." He bellowed out to his followers, who had converged here to fight for his freedom. "You come here, not just to fight for me, but for yourselves, and for those like you. So fight! Fight for your freedom! For when we stand together, no power in the universe can stop us!" |

Elsie watched Marionette leave and looked at Penn. Her eyes thinned as she turned around. He did not answer her question, she may be of more use to Marionette than Penn anyway. It was the things Marionette said... Control... Elsie stood there. Elsie never even heard her own mother say "I love you" when she left.
As Elsie grew older all she heard was "You're a monster." She was kept in a home, home schooled, feared that she would destroy everything in her path. Elsie wanted to know what was keeping her from going to a prom or even a home coming dance. It all hit her... She really was... a monster. "Sir... do you think I'm a monster?" She asked Penn. "Or do you think I deserve a chance like the rest of the heroes out there?" |

OOC: I leave for a couple days, and then all of the exciting stuff happens, of course.
IC: Micheal couldn't help but feel a twinge of suprise when the gates opened. He didn't have many powers that the guards even needed to restrict, so when his full abilities returned to him, he felt only a small difference. Inc ombat however, he would efinitely be able to tell the difference, as his computerized relfexes would return. He walked into the courtyard, just in time to see Marionette leave. Hmm...perhaps Marionette could indeed be part of his overall plan after all...he quickly followed Marionette, just in time to see him unleash Lycaon. To Marionette, that probably seemed like a clever move, but Michael saw differently...never unleash someone more powerful than yourself, especially not if as strong willed as Lycaon clearly was. He stepped towards Marionette, and said quietly, "fool. Your plan ends with escape, and then you'll go back to your life before, killing heroes, and causing chaos." He looked around, and spoke quietly, so that no one other than MArionette could hear him, "I'm offering a deal," he said. "I put on a show of opposing you, and become allied with the heroes, if we act together, we can both tear them up, I from the inside, you from the outside." |

Helena's eyes went misty as Kowalski spoke. It was the sincerest and most wondrous thing she'd heard from someone who wasn't uncontrollably entranced by her or trying to bed her.
She looked up into his eyes. There was no ripple, no wisps of smoke, nothing in hers this time--She simply looked at Kowalski with wonderment and pride. She hugged him, making sure her uncovered face and hands only touched what was left of his tattered, bullet hole-riddled shirt. The once-white lab coat she'd taken was now stained crimson with his blood. Helena's slender and seemingly delicate form was so tiny compared to Kowalski's larger frame, and in her tight embrace she reveled in his raging body heat through the shirt. That was one blessed thing the Noxadrain offered her: the naked and unhindered feeling of another person's warmth without worry she was harming them. When she'd held Michael's hand, she was so intoxicated by the feeling, it overwhelmed her senses. "Thank you," she uttered. A tear escaping her eye. "Villain or not, you're my hero." She peeled herself away from him and headed for the door, though unsure of where to go from here. "I hope I see you again. On the outside," she said turning to him again before leaving. Maronette was almost insulted by Michael's assumption. Though his idea was intriguing. But how could it be known what Michael would really do, if he was this willing to be a spy, it would not be too far of a step to be a double-agent. Marionette would keep him close, but tell him little.
"Far more has planned than you are aware. We will have time later to discuss such things, I agree to your proposition. Together we shall accomplish what I could only dream. With your help, the line between hero and villain shall be come blurry at best. And we will force the Heroes to break their image, become as unwanted as we, and then...then, the true 'revolt' will occur." A slight bow from Marionette signalled his taking leave. Walking away from Michael knowing there would be a way to accomplish his means through this man. Marionette, though he seemed unbreakable, was at his weakest right now. There was not a shell of people surrounding him. He cannot distance himself from the action, and guarentee his protecion. If backed into a corner, Marionette will be forced to use his true asset, the Puppet dangling from his strings. |

Michael couldn't resist a small smile, yet another string tied in the great weave of his plan. Marionette, may accomplish what he desired through Michael, but Michael, in the end, would accomplish much, much more....
He walked back to the courtyard, and looked at Penn. "I choose your side," he said. "Let's end this prison break." Michael didn't mention the obvious benfits of being on the side to stop the breaks...it would clearly mean that they would be on the side of good, and quickly be freed from this "rehabilitation center." His eyebrows furrowed as he realized that if the people escaped, this could be the end of Bon Reve, some prisoners going with the heroes...the rest going with the villians, and the whole cycle would restart itself. Unless Michael's plan succeeded... |

Penn looked around. His allies were few and far between. The only recognizable face was Micheal. He'd count the psychotic girl, but she was far too self-obsessed to be of any strategic use.
He was essentially alone, and at that moment, he thought that was just fine. Dashing forward, he lifted his closest opponent into the air and began supercharging them with energy. He recognized the Italian Stallion's face crinkle in pain seconds before his body exploded and rained down across the peninsula. The air around Penn became flooded with his energy as he continued his rampage, blowing holes through nameless foes with one hit. It was like the force of a bazooka hitting these fools, and one by one, they fell. Penn set his sights on the coward at the other side of the crowd. The one fiddling with the strings. |

Elsie looked at Penn. Behind him someone was running at him with a blunt object. "NO!" She shouted in anger.
Flames burst around the man and he fell to the ground screaming in fear. She looked at him with a smirk. He was rolling around and nothing seemed to help. Elsie nodded and the man stopped burning. His skin almost gone. |
