I want to know how everyone chooses a series that they religously read. I'll explain my way.
I sit at the Barnes and Noble and walk up and down the place. First things first. If it's over 13 novels long it's not worth my money. I'll just read it in the store. I usually find what I want by looking at the cover than looking at the back of the book. I normally open it up and look through the pictures quickly. If I find a scene I like I normally read it. That's how I got into After School Nightmare. I fell for the beautiful art style, awesome story line, and when I read it I shout out as the drama continues. I love to read books in general. When something makes me squeal like a little girl it's a great thing. I used to read manga no matter what it was. Then I started getting picky. Love Hina had a great story line, but needed more fluff because most of the bubbles were full of like two or three paragraphs full of sentences. Gravitation was the same way. There were some parts in Chobits and Angelic Layer where I wanted to choke CLAMP because there was like one word in a huge bubble and no art. Lazy.... I've been really into After School Nightmare so I checked out X-Day.... just as good. XD Same artist as well. So that's how I choose.... But I normally stay in the line where if I'm screaming "DAMN!!! THAT'S FUCKED UP!" |

I never really got into manga, but one that a friend of mine coaxed me into buying was Fruits Basket, which i've enjoyed so far(have first 6), but like the video game selection here, the manga selection blows as well. I'd have to order anything I wanted, but the main reason I've avoided manga is because I read a lot, and at a high level. Generally I get through full novels in two or three days, and adding pictures and removing words only makes me burn through a book faster, even while enjoying the artwork. All-in-all I'd still be up for reading manga, but I haven't really found a series I want to try on for size. | |||

Why oh why am I only interested in the Romance Mangas.
Even if Comedy is thrown in along the bunch, I always have to get some kind of Romance involved in my Anime reading materials. Also, feel free to edit this if its not aloud, but *Cough* |

Yeah, I think if i ever got serious about reading manga, I'd order it. It gets me all anxious when I'm out of my element in a book store(looking at a manga series I think looks pretty cool from it's storyline, artwork, etc., then realizing it's a yaoi). Nagis, your manga site made me cry a little:
