Nathaniel returned, sliding his phone into his pocket.
"We should be safe for now. We just need to lay low for a while, until we can make sure that they," he gestured towards Eddie and his companions, "Cannot be traced. Hopefully, the Company has bigger problems right now." Marika remained quiet. She didn't know who these people were, only that one of them had saved her life, and she was indebted to him. Felicia entered the bar, nervous; she wasn't used to being alone. JC had gotten separated in the fight, and now she had to make her way to the meeting spot. They had never needed to use the meeting spot, so she wearily approached the bartender. "I need the, uh, key to the bathroom." He gave her a look, and slid a small key across the counter. She took it, and headed towards the back, until she reached an unmarked door. She slid the key in, and opened the door. Inside was what appeared to be an empty broom closet. She felt around until she found the small plastic panel that peeled away, and entered the code. The wall opposite the door opened, revealing a stairway. She stuck the key in her pocket and headed down the stairs, the wall closing behind her. |

(OOC: Been a bit busy myself, but...here I am. If I miss reacting to something, unless it was important, just ignore it, for the sake of everyone being caught up to date.)
The moment they reached the compound, Nina began shivering, a violent cold shifting through her body. This time was different however. Despite the cold, Nina realized something else...her mind was trying to trigger something. Each time she grew this cold, there was always something else there, she now realized, prodding the back of her mind. It was always too faint for her to take any real notice to it though. This time, her head ached with the bitter cold. Luckily, for her state of denial, there was too much going around them for anyone else to notice her shivers. Quietly, she followed behind everybody through the corridors. As the flames jumped out at them, she screamed, raising her hands to shield herself. While everyone else seemed to duck out of the way, Nina was unable to move fast enough, her headache still making her head spin. However, the fire that reached out for them always seemed to stop inches from Nina, something she tried to toss up as being unreachable from the flames and lucky for it. This time her rationale wasn't working. Something was telling her this was happening on purpose. (OOC: think how fire is over a large body of water. The oil floats to the top, thus keeping fire on top of the water. Essentially, the water doesn't get burned by the fire.) When they finally found Eddie, her headache ceased and the cold disappeared. She was so happy to see her friend, that it all just faded for no reason. However, there were two other people with Eddie, and the other three Nina had come in with already rushed over, so Nina decided to keep her distance. Eddie seemed frazzled enough and probably didn't realize she would go with them. Nina decided that would be something she would wait to bother him with until he had a few seconds to calm down and realize he was now safe. |

((OOC: Considering the fact that the Celebration High group is still at the site, some of the things in this are detailing moments after they leave the wreckage.))
As she sped down the freeway in an old rust-bucket of a pick-up, Cally occasionally stared over at her ringing cell phone, sitting in the passenger seat, beside her. No telling who could be calling her at that moment. She chose to ignore it, letting the call go to voicemail. She didn't bother personalizing the outgoing message considering all of the people who might be trying to contact her in one of her many guises. The phone beeped to tell her she'd missed a call, and soon after beeped a different tone to inform her of the new message. She sighed. The phone started ringing again. "Oh Jesus tap-dancing Christ!" A Bluetooth headset materialized over her left ear. She pressed the button to answer. "WHAT?!" A slightly timid voice answered, "Callisto? Are you all right?" "Karina?" "Your company was on the news. That paper place you work for. What happened? Are you okay? Who were those people?" "It's okay. I'm not hurt or anything." "Was it terrorists? Why would they attack a paper supplier? Oh my God! They know about you! Someone wanted revenge!!" "No, no, Karina. Shh. Listen. I can't really talk about it right now. This probably isn't a clean line--" Call-waiting beeped. "Karina?" The other woman was sobbing into the phone. "Karina? I gotta go. Don't worry about me. Give Erin my love." "Okay. You take care of yourself." Cally switched lines. "Hello?" she answered cautiously. "You all right, Roxton?" "You don't know me very well, do you, Wilford?" George audibly smirked. "I figured if you went down, it'd be swinging. Just checking up on my partner, like a good partner should." "Yeah, glad you're not dead either. I'll see you in a few." The headset disappeared and she continued barreling down the highway, pleased that traffic was relatively thin for that time of day. It'd been quite a long time since she was briefed on what to do during a Company crisis, and she hoped she could remember how to get to the rendezvous point without needing to call George back for directions. No telling who might be listening in anyway. (Last edited by Rogue on 02-05-08 09:58 PM) |

Eddie looked at Nathaniel with untrusting eyes. He found himself a brilliant judge of character lately, and his suspicions about the intentions of this man would not fade with time. For now, however, he had to cover his feelings.
"We have to get out of here. Now." They quickly climbed into the van and Nathaniel slammed the accelerator, speeding them from the fiery tomb of secrets they had just been through. Eddie looked around. His school's foreign janitor, two of his teachers, his best friend, and two fellow interred hostages. With his family gone, this was all he had left. He felt like crying, but he kept it internalized again. He'd have time for tears later. Sitting in the lobby of the emergency meeting place of the Company was a young man. His wild, untamed black hair hung over his face, and his thin, bony frame showed through his simple clothing. He sat staring at his cell phone's screen. The name of his last incoming call, Nathaniel, was lit up. He heard footsteps, but he didn't move. He didn't have to. "It's been a very long time, Felicia." Jason Brennan, leader of the New Order, said loudly. |

It took all of Felicia's restraint to not audibly gasp. Instead, her hand began to drift towards where her pistol was holstered.
"Jason, what are you doing here?" |

"Ah, ah, love. I thought you would've remembered me better." He lifted his hand and somehow the pistol began to sublimate within its holster, only releasing a small amount of heat. "Can't have you waving that little number around."
"Actually, I'm here for one of your new operatives. I believe she goes by 'Cally'. I was just reading over her case file, in particular the description of her powers." Jason slowly rose and looked up at Felicia. The deep fatigue lines under his eyes were contrasted by what looked like Hell's flames burning in his eyes. "It's just what I've been looking for. All I need is the astral projector and her, and my dreams will be realized." |

Felicia stammered, looking for something to say. She stood no chance against Jason,a and she appeared to be alone in the room.
"Leave the girl alone, Brennan." Shermann appeared from... somewhere. He wore a white bodysuit that that appeared to be made out of some sort of melding of leather and spandex, and a thin katana on his back. "Nathaniel may have the boy, but Callisto is loyal to our cause. I will give you a chance to leave now, and prolong your imminent defeat." |

Jason turned and raised his hands, which began to glow with energy.
"Shermann!!" Jason growled and objects around the room started to shake, cracks forming along the walls. His body seemed to emanate this chaotic energy, the source of the destruction. "I'm not here to ask her for allegiance! I'm here to squeeze a god out of that pretty little head before I blow it up!" |

Shermann didn't flinch, and Felicia tried to imitate her leader's bravado.
"Brennan, your intimidation is useless against me. Do you really want to try and best me again? Your strength is not in your power, but in that of those who blindly follow you." |

Jason laughed maniacally, the room still shaking with his power.
"You self-centered fool! I told you I could care less about you." Jason closed his eyes, concentrating for a moment before his entire body began to emanate the glowing energy, pouring from every orifice and limb. Objects in the room started exploding, bits of glass flying everywhere. "I AM THE GOD OF CHAOS!" He said, his voice disorted and demonic. "FEAR ME, AND KNOW MY WRATH!" Suddenly, he released a large burst of his energy was released and the room filled with dust as the plaster walls exploded into fine powder. His energy calmed, and when the dust cleared, he was gone. But he left his mark behind. The gaping hole in the ceiling could not be ignored. |

The dust settled, and Felicia lowered her hands, dropping the shield that surrounded her and Shermann. She breathed heavily, from the strength of the shield, and the speed in which she was required to erect it. Shermann rested his hand on her shoulder.
"Good work Felicia, you were trained well. In a dangerous situation, always follow your instincts when it comes to your powers. Especially your powers." "What did he want?" "To scare us. He's got a plan, and he's confident that it will succeed." |

Nina jolted as she felt the sudden vibration tickle her right side. At first, she ignored it, but, every time it ceased, it picked right up again.
Sighing, Nina decided to finally take a peak. "Alex" the phone read in black lettering with a blue glow behind them. Again, Nina sighed. She felt odd, answering a phone call, but she knew she had to. Ever since she could remember, Alessandro never had a problem calling the police after when she wasn't home on time. "H-hello?" she answered nervously. Alessandro's voice mirrored her nervousness, but in a much deeper, serious fashion. "Uh." Nina paused as though interrupted. She glanced up at Eddie. "Right." She said finally as she handed her phone over to Eddie. "He insists it's a gravely important matter." She announces, the first thing she had actually said to her friend since he first ran off earlier that day. |

Eddie grabbed the phone, looking at it for a second before putting to his ear.
"Alessandro? What's-what's up?" Eddie grew silent for a minute. He couldn't bring himself to say the word upon his lips. "D-d...Dad?" |

Abel, sensing much of the tension in the van, and not being at ease either in the belly of a metallic contraption that moved without any creatures pulling it, turned his attention to the others who weren't talking crazily into a noise-making box.
There wasn't much more he felt he could take today. He felt overloaded. "If you please, masters." he began. "My former captors would not answer me the riddle of my presence in this realm. Canst thou grant me that knowledge?" |

At first, Eddie's words didn't register in Nina's mind, and for a moment, she was preoccupied with the man who referred to everyone as "masters." She raised an eyebrow, but before she responded to the situation, Eddie's conversation with her brother hit her like a ton of bricks.
Y...y...your.....dad? she silently mouthed the words to her friend. |

Cally eased the truck into a space at the curb a block away from the bar. After driving around for almost an hour looking for the place, she couldn't find the patience within her to park the oversized vehicle in a space she realized was just a tiny bit too small for it.
Irritatedly rubbing her forehead, she climbed out of the '72 Chevy C-20 and slammed the door behind her. Had she decided to make a Porsche or even a Lambo, it probably would have fit, but fast cars often drew trouble and suspicion from police. Didn't matter. She didn't care if the stupid heap got towed. She walked away with the truck's bed hanging out into the street. "Hey!!" Cally kept walking. "HEY!!" A drunk who'd wandered down from the bar, gesticulating left and right about something Cally couldn't care less about, stumbled toward her. "I don't have any change." "No, bitch. You blocked me in!" She sighed. "What?" "With your goddamn truck!" "What truck?" "That piece of shit right ther--" He stopped suddenly, finding himself pointing at an empty parking space, stumbling forward a little in shock, but mostly from all of the beer he'd had to drink. "Hey. Someone stole it." Cally pushed him back as he nearly fell onto her. He absolutely reeked of booze. "Sir, were you planning on driving out of here in your current condition?" "Hey, you shut your fucking trap, you useless cun--" Shame he never got to finish his genius remark, but Cally's boot to his cheek rather rudely interrupted his thought. The drunk hit the ground. The few times he angrily tried to get up, he found himself knocked down again with Cally insisting that he stay there. Eventually he was out cold. When he would awaken an hour later, he'd find himself handcuffed to the chain-link fence along the sidewalk next to his car. "Dry up, lush," she exclaimed as she left him there. Once again she made her way to the bar, beyond annoyed with herself for being so late. |

Cally stepped into the darkened tavern, wading through the people hovering about with their drinks. She made her way to the bar and flagged down its tender.
"Mind if I get the key to the ladies' room?" she asked. A little on the wide-eyed and innocent side for her. "I think someone's already in there," He said. "S'okay I'll wait back there." She made her way to the back, eventually stopping at the right door. Gently she tapped on it and waited from someone to answer on the other side. (Last edited by Rogue on 02-13-08 07:42 PM) |

OOC: SUPER POST TIME.
Company Emergency Headquarters: Outside the hidden entrance to the Company's Emergency Headquarters, Cally sat, watching the cracks in the wall. When the door opened, she was taken aback by the amount of dust that spilled out into the hallway. An aged Chinese man with a simple, refined mustache and slicked back graying hair looked at her with suddenly relieved eyes. "Oh, Callisto, thank the spirits you are safe." He walked over to her, looked around, and escorted her inside before slamming the door shut and locking it. As soon as Cally walked in, she could see the damage. The gaping hole in the ceiling and the melted, destroyed objects around the entrance hall showed something had happened. What had just transpired was no simple riot. This was a maneuver planned from beginning to end, something so well executed even the Company was caught unprepared. Cally followed the aged Chinese man through the back hallways, eventually leading to a large debriefing room. A large portion of the Company's agents were present in the room, some wounded, others just unkempt. Tellamy, the unorthodox nurse of the Company, healed wounds with his powers, humming a simple tune as he did. He was the only happy spirit in the room. ??: In a dark, stuffy warehouse, several cloaked figures appeared from the shadows, meeting in the center. They looked at each other slowly, eying each other's every detail up before removing their hoods. They were quiet still, until the chaotic voice of Jason Brennan rose from the silence. "I am extremely impressed, men. That was brilliantly executed, just as we planned." The air in the room seemed lighter, as relief filled the rest of the group. "It is quite the shame that Callisto has eluded us, but we have pigeoned them in their cloistered little hiding place. Nathaniel is in possession of Eddie as well as several other evolved humans, including the janitor who diseased you, Sandman. Everything is going excellent." Micheal Smith, the second in command of the group, spoke next. He was Jason's most trusted aide, giving him more freedom of speech in these meetings. "So, what do we do next, sir? Do we press the assault?" "No, no, my friend. All we do now is relax and collect our spoils. The next move will be made by them." "Son, come to Nina's house now." The gruff, stern voice of Eddie's dad was surreal to him, as the pain of his and his mother's loss was still burned into him. "Is Mom alive too?!" He said, his voice rising. "Yes, she's been hurt, but she's safe now. Now listen to me closely, son. I want you to say yes or no if there is anybody in the car with you right now besides Nina." "Uhh, yeah." "Alright, son, I need you to do this for me. I'm assuming you or Nina aren't driving, right?" "Right." "Read the head of the person who is. I know you can, son, Don't ask how. Just hang up the phone and do it. Do what you need to do to get you and Nina home or safe, whichever is easiest." "Uh, ok, dad. See you soon." He grew quiet as he handed Nina her phone. He stared at Nathaniel intently before dropping into a trance, looking only as though his eyes were closed. After one minute, he drew the pistol he had brought with him from the Company building and pointed it at Nathaniel's head. "STOP THE CAR OR I SHOOT YOU IN THE FUCKING HEAD!" Everyone in the car panicked, especially Nathaniel. Nathaniel stopped the car, looking back at Eddie with fear. |

Nina screamed. Eddie's sudden outburst shook her to no end. Even after she realized what had happened, and who was holding the weapon, her hands still quivered.
"Eddie..." she whispered. |
