Gigante was knocked back by Vincent's explosives onto the ground, but the blast wounds almost instantly healed. He started to rise when suddenly his mask began to heat up hotter and hotter, and he screamed in pain as it began to singe his skin. He ripped the mask off, revealing his face to the others. It was hideous, deformed and disfigured from years of genetic alterations. He growled, his disgusting true face for all to see.
"Damn you all!!!" Gigante brought his humongous hands up once more, and they flashed with a mystic power. With a roar, he threw a powerful punch at Alarath, once that was almost certain to kill his weak form. Seconds before the hit was to land, Ken finished charging his electricity, thanks to the distractions presented due to his new comrades. "Paradox Drive!" A blur of blue flew past and stopped at Gigante's now exposed face. It was Ken, infused to the brim with electricity. He let loose on Gigante with a ferocious and never ending flurry of punches and kicks, spinning and slamming into Gigante almost too fast to see. And Gigante felt it. He was knocked back slightly with each strike, and with a final, incredibly hard punch, Gigante fell into the water. The earth shook slightly, and a small amount of debris fell from the ceiling. Ken landed, panting hard and holding onto his right arm. "Damn, I'm out of juice." And slowly but surely, Gigante rose once more. His face was smashed to pieces, but he still fought. He placed his hands on the edge of the stone. And with a mixture of Animus magic and pure strength, he slammed his hands into the ground and the entire Pentagon lifted up so it was at a slope. If everyone hadn't managed to launch into the air, they would slide into the water and apparantly be easy pickings. |

She frantically thought to herself the entire time. *Don't do anything; these guys can handle it... No... What am I doing just standing here!?*
As the slope was raised, Alexis lunged forth from her new opening, and unsheathed her knife, and held it between her teeth. As she descended, she managed to grab a hold of the giant's massive hands, and with a decisive action, thrust the knife into the palm of the monster's hand. She took it out, and as he flailed to try and swing her off, she began hacking away at one of his fingers. Howling in pain, the giant swung its arms around madly, but Alexis hung tight. After a short fight, the monster's left index finger was completely cut off, as blood spewed from the wound, covering her face and upper body in blood. With a scream of anguish and pain, the giant finally took its opposite hand and smacked her off, the knife still embedded in the giant's flesh, as she fell to the opposite platform, her head bleeding and her shoulder badly injured. "Dammit... Eergh! Sonofabitch!" (Last edited by Clockworkz on 02-26-07 11:16 PM) |

OOC: You know what? As long as it's nothing severe, I don't really care if you auto hit unless I specify ahead of time with the character.
When the Pentagon rose to a slope, Ken dashed over and grabbed Bria and Alarath by the hands, and calling upon his natural ability protected the two from any danger. He landed softly with them as it returned to normal, and then asked them to listen to what he had to say. "I have a plan...He can't heal internal wounds, that's why his face and his hand haven't completely healed. So, you see that knife?" Ken was referring to Alexis' knife, now lodged in Gigante's hand, smeared with blood. "I'm gonna get that knife in his chest. Then, you (pointing at Bria) distract him with water totem. Focus on the eyes. Alarath, follow up and throw all your fire through the knife and blow his insides aflame. Alright, ready? I'm going in!" Ken dashed forward, jumping and grabbing the knife hilt from out of the wound, causing more blood to spray. Kenneth Ride leaped through Gigante's impending grasp and landed the knife straight in Gigante's gut. He pushed off him lightly, confident. "Now, guys!" A sudden uppercut in pained fury from Gigante hit Ken square in the gut and launched him into the air, and he went flying back until he splashed in the water, unconscious. If he had been more prepared, he would have been able to beat Gigante alone, he thought to himself, before closing his eyes and being swept down into a passageway's aqueduct, floating with the current. Bria was just about so send the cold water to Gigante's face, but her plan was foiled. "Alarath!" She shouted, as Gigante aimed his gigantic hands at Alarath. It all happened too quickly and before she knew it, a new plan had been devised. She nodded as Ken took off to do his part and at his signal, she sent the water she had ready directly into his eyes. She kept doing so, lifting as much water from the ground as she can at a time, throwing it in Gigante's face as quickly as she could.

Vincent grabbed Ken by the collar saving him from a watery grave. He teleported off to the side where it was safe and smiled.
"You'll be OK now." Vincent stood to his full height and turned towards Gigante. "Time to stage the fall of Rome." Vincent dashed under the giant's legs, dropping multiple explosives around his feet. When he was behind the giant he spun and triggered the explosives to send the giant off balance and falling into the water once more. The giant began to stand and Vincent crouched upon his misshapen nose. His cane rose quickly and a flick of a switch revealed a trigger, which, when pulled, fired a powerful shot directly into the giant's eye, sending blood spurting outwards. Vincent decided this was enough of a distraction, and hoped Alarath could take over from here. |

"Oh dear"
*Avendia dashed over to where Vincent had laid Ken down, seeing that the Terrans had this under control. Kneeling down beside him she again opened herself to the spirits and placed her hand on his stomach. The gift of healing was something used sparingly, since it took some of the caster's own energy to make it enter another body... but with a hit like that she feared he might be bleeding internally. The magic coursed through her, down into her hand, and into Ken. She gritted her teeth as she felt energy being sapped out of her. She removed her hand, shaking slightly and looking a little paler. Hopefully she had healed whatever damage the massive creature (for that thing could no longer be called an Animus) had done.* "Wake up," she said while shaking him a little. |

Five years ago, it had all been different. Ken remembered the feel of flowing water, but it had been a very different experience for him. He had gone by the name Alden, and he was renowned as "The Zeus of the Sea". He remembered the simple life of drinking and living by the sea, and fending off any unwanted with his powers. Those days of living by the drink and ocean were over for him, and had been for many years, but he still remembered them fondly. His crew had always kept in good spirits, and his captain had taken him despite his age. Those days had kept his past far from his mind, and he had liked that way. But it seems the present and the past are now to be intertwined once more. One cannot escape his past forever.
Opening his eyes slowly, he rose and felt a terrible pain in his gut. He flinched and growled, clutching his chest. He looked over to the Stonefoot Avendia by his side. He smiled at her sincerely, going against the cold behavior he had displayed before. "I suppose I have you to thank for saving my life." He could feel a humongous bruise forming as they spoke, but it seemed the internal wounds had healed fine. "Thank you, friend." He got to his feet, leaning against the stone wall. The chaos with Gigante was coming to an end, it seemed. His fears had been misplaced, these people might just be what he would need to stand up against Red Eye. Deep underground, a pale face was watching the fight unfold with a series of incomprehensible statistics and characters foreign to the common eye. He was incredibly thin and frail, and his eyes were obscured by black goggles. He had crazily unkempt hair, graying despite his overall wrinkle-free face. He was pressing buttons at a maddening pace, easily taking it in stride while keeping an eye on the statistics. This was Gadget, the tech genius of Red Eye. "Leader, they are about to finish off Gigante." Gadget addressed this to a man standing in the middle of the Operation Center room. This man wore a black cloak, the hood over his head. On the back of the cloak was a large red spot, indicating Red Eye status. He slowly turned to Gadget. "Gigante is our weakest tier fighter. It is nothing to worry about. How long until the bomb goes off?" Gadget looks over at him. "5 minutes." |

EDIT: by Cairoi, permission approved. Just a small detail.
Alarath had no time to react against the blow the giant sent, and so considered himself fortunate when both Bria and Ken went to his rescue. He was then sent into the water when Gigante slammed the ground of the pentagon. He watched as Ken pulled his move, and frowned. Suddenly Vincent pulled his move, shooting Gigante in the eyes. It seemed as though everything was set up for him. He dashed up and grabbed the hilt of the knife, focusing as much fire as he could through it. It shot out and burned Gigante's insides like a flamethrower, and after a stressful 6 seconds, he backed off and ran away. He had done his part. (Last edited by Cairoi on 02-27-07 07:10 PM) |

As the room tilted, Rei was launched into the air. He flew across the room, and landed in the water. Still encased in stone, he instantly sunk to the bottom. At the floor of the sewer, he began to attempt to swim up, panicking, the thought of freeing himself from the stone not even occurring to him.
He took a deep breath to calm down, then realized what he had just done. Taken a deep breath. How could this be? Possibly some strange combination of his Animus and Terran abilities? He decided to ponder this occurrence later, and pushed towards the surface, with both his legs and his Terran magic. He propelled away from the stone ground underneath him, and as he moved upward, he could feel his lungs begin to strain for air. He broke above the water, and removed the stone around his head. He took a deep breath of fresh air, and began paddling towards the walkway, still using Terran magic to keep himself above the surface. He pulled himself up and rolled onto his back, the stone encasing him melting into a thick mud. |

Gigante fell to his knees, clutching his chest frantically. The damage was internal, he knew his magick would no longer protect him. He fell to the ground, making a huge crash. He wasn't dead, but he was not long for this world.
After he fell, Ken slowly made his way over to the once deadly giant. He was holding his chest, but if needs be he could still hold his own. He stood a few feet away from the creature, and when he spoke he did it with a tone filled with pity. "Gigante, you're beaten. Don't fight it." After a moment of silence, Gigante slowly rose and stared through the scars at the man he had known as Zeus. "Yes, I know. If I try to fight, my heart will give. Listen to me now, War-Brothers. I will not forgive you for betraying Red Eye unless you defeat all of us. I do not want to think of morals, but of strength, it is all I know." "Understood, War-Brother." Ken nodded his head, not intimidated by this giant anymore, instead only having sympathy. "What will you do now?" "I will heal my wounds, then I will fight. Who, that depends on where I am." Kenneth smiled at his old friend, remembering the times he had viewed him as a dear ally. "You always lived to die on the battlefield, Jabas." Gigante smiled in due turn, but then his face filled with a serious conviction. "You must leave now, Ken. Take them all and go. If you have become disoriented, the direction you must travel is that way. I will pose no more resistance, you have defeated me. And of my knowledge you will face no more challenges." Ken stepped towards him, and placed a hand upon him. "I will miss fighting by your side, Jabas." He then directed everyone to make their way to the exit. After almost reaching the passageway, he heard Gigante let out a scream in panic. "THOSE COWARDS!" Ken turned to see Gigante glowing brightly, his every orifice emitting flames. "RUN! IT IS A BOMB! MY SKIN WILL HOLD IT WITHIN ME FOR AS LONG AS IT CAN! GO WAR-BROTHERS!" Ken felt a deep sadness and an immediate fear, but he knew what must be done. "EVERYONE, QUICK!" Everyone but Gigante fled down the tunnel, seeking escape from the impending explosion. After 15 seconds of hastened running, Gigante's magicks could no longer hold in the continued release of the bomb. Jabas exploded in a ball of flame, and the Pentagon went with him. Suddenly, the waterways began to collapse, and everybody was forced to run with all their might. The collapse finally ended, and everyone could finally take a deep breath. They now faced light at the end of the tunnel, the escape from the city. The conflict resolved, there was nothing to do but move forward. Ken knew now that everyone would understand the treachery that is Red Eye. |

Vincent paused for a moment, looking into his once comrade's eye. As Jabas warned, there was a bomb inside of him, but Vincent did not run, not yet. He presented his friend with a White Rose, the staple of Vincent. Knowing that it's glowing and lovely petals would keep Jabas company in his last few moments. Vaudevillian hoped that the kind gesture would allow Jabas to hold on for a little longer, and finally calm the war in his heart.
"You die with honor, the way you would like. But friend, I say to you, rest in peace." The explosion erupted and caved in most of the tunnels, the bright light the others saw and the end of the tunnel became obscured by a figure wearing a top hat. They ran closer to see in full a smiling Vincent. "The Giant is no more, a warrior with great honor, and now, a peace set upon him by both our actions and the actions of Red-Eye. His restless warmongering heart was calmed moments before his death, his spirit is free now, and saved from a torment of hellish fire." Vincent turned his head to the side, afraid he might shed a tear for a fallen comrade. This feeling passed as it usually does. Vincent pulled from his breast pocket two rose petals, and handed one each to the two Animus. "I gave him a Rose before his death. That Rose, bore upon it these two petals. He poured his soul into the flower, and cherished it as if it were a gift from a relative. It was this Rose which calmed the war within his heart, and by doing so, he has come to be part of a much larger plan. Take these petals with you, and may you learn something from his example. Respect them as they are he, a powerful foe defeated in honorable combat. Remember him, and allow his name to live on through your actions." Vincent smiled awkwardly, he hated to see his once comrade go, and the goodness of his heart allowed them to live. As Vaudevillian had allowed him to live on after death. "Now, is a time in which we must unite and take our leave of these treacherous tunnels. Red-Eye will know of which way we came, and they will know of which way we will go. We may only have a few days of freedom before we are to be overtaken, we must prepare ourselves should we wish to survive." Vincent noticed the condition Alexis was in, he scooped her up in his arms and knelt down. He frantically looked between the others. "If there's anything anyone can do to help, now is most definitely the time. It appears her shoulder is dislocated. And, she'd bleeding pretty badly..." (Last edited by Xeios on 03-01-07 12:47 AM) |

*Avendia nodded to Ken in reply to his thanks. Rising slightly she paused while regaining her energy, and when Gigante fell she darted forward, grabbing her knife again as well as the other one. It made it that much easier for her when they had to run for their lives. As Vincent gave her the rose petal when he appeared again, she looked at it and him. The giant creature that had once been of her people had regained his honor in the end, and so she tucked the petal into her belt pouch. It was then that she noticed Alexis*
"You know some of the ways of my people, I thank you for bringing peace to his heart. In return I would be happy to heal what wounds she has. Rei, pay close attention to my movements and listen as I work... the healing is another potent gift from the Spirits." *Again Avendia placed her hand on an injured person and opened her heart to the whispers of the Spirits. Drawing in the energy she channeled it into Alexis. There was a popping noise as the shoulder righted itself, and an eerie sight of the wounds closing. Avendia swayed as her vision began to blur and she released the magic. The life force was strong in the city-dweller now, and though there would be headaches and some bruising she would be fine in a few days.* "She should be fine, just some aches and bruises. Her actions were brave, as were the actions of you all... well, almost all *glanced at Rei*; but that can be fixed. You have proven yourselves far more honorable than I had thought, and I apologize for thinking less of you." |

Bria watched in awe as Avendia worked her magic. She was preoccupied with the plan from earlier to clearly witness the first time she healed someone. She took in a few deep breaths. She figured the events had shaken everyone pretty badly. It had yet to set in with her. She still remained calm, suprising even herself and fearing how it might feel if shock comes later.
She made her way over to Vincent and Avendia, kneeling down as well, close to Alexis. "I'll stick around her until she's back to one hundred percent." She says softly, glancing from Vincent to Avendia. |

Vincent smiled suavely at Bria.
"Thank you dear, but I believe all of us will be staying by her until she is one-hundred percent. She has a lot of fighting spirit in her, and she is basically the cause that we could defeat the giant." Vaudevillian's eyes shifted to the side to look at Avendia. He nodded his head. "I am glad that you accept my gift with such open arms. Perhaps there is something of his strength to learn from the bit of his spirit he was able to allow us to have. To cherish his memory." |

Alexis sat up, rubbing her head, wincing.
"God dammit. Damn near busted my head open..." She looked up to the giantess that healed her wounds as she rotated her shoulder, making sure it was ok. "Thanks, Avenda. I owe ya one." *Giving a nod to Alexis, Avendia spoke*
"You will be alright to travel now, but you will need to take it easy." *She then turned to Vincent with a serious expression* "Animus do not spurn gifts of sincerity, even from city-dwellers. That you knew of that custom alone surprised me, but considering that he was once a Stonefoot... before whatever that place did to him... most likely explains it. His spirit still showed through, one of the stronger of my people. I remember hearing stories about a boy named Jabas that went to the capital and never returned, he had much promise as a warrior. When this is done, and I return to my people, I can tell them his fate. If there is any remnant of Red Eye at that time, there will not be for long. Those that killed him did so without honor, and no one of my tribe will stand for that!" *Avendia looked fierce as she spoke the last part, though after a moment she took a deep breath to regain her composure and gave a weak smile* "As you have no doubt noticed, I am much calmer than most of the Sand people... my mother says it in an influence of the Spirits; which is why our Rain-cousins are much calmer than us." "Jabas became what was known as Gigante because of extreme genetic, mechanical and magical testing. He was never meant to be a Red Eye agent, but after the testing done on him by the organization you know as Life Co., he was given as a gift to Red Eye. We honed his deformed self into a powerful fighter once more."
Ken turned to Avendia, a look of incredibly deep conviction present in his eyes. "I swore to my friend Jabas, I swore to myself, and I swore to the memory of a friend that I would personally see to the end of Red Eye. We committed far too wrongs to be allowed to remain. If I may atone for my actions by destroying Red Eye with these hands, then I will die to see it done." Ken clenched his right hand and sparks flew about it, but no fire spawned. He cursed, seeing his Terramorphus was still essentially lost. He was also empty of electricity from the fight with Gigante, so if they got into a fight before he could access a power source, his Instinct Drive wouldn't work at all. He wouldn't have his Drive Style combat style or basic defensive maneuvers on his side. The most fit fighter here was Vincent, so defense was his concern until they reached safety. Ken couldn't do much put direct where to go. "Alright, we can do nothing more than move forward now. Let us go." Ken lead the group down the tunnel until they reached the end of the tunnel, and the sun exposed the landscape before them. Far in the distance was the Badlands, a rugged series of plateaus and mountains that was home to few civilized races, and certainly few of the main races. Most people seeking the town of Ha Even would use an airship to pass the Badlands, but it seemed that they must traverse it on foot. But they faced an obstacle. It appeared that the water drained into a lake, which thus became a river. However, the only problem was the lake was apparently 20 feet below them. They would have to jump, or in Bria's case, ride the water. Or in Vincent's case, teleport, but Ken wasn't really thinking about that. Outside New Orid had a different sunlight to it, one that filled him with hope. "Alright, guys. This is nothing. Let's go!" And with that, Ken leaped, not bothering to take a diving formation. The wind rippled his clothes as he laughed, feeling truly alive. This was the joy of being a sky pirate lived, Ken knew, as he splashed into the lake. It was a few seconds before he came up, gasping for air and laughing. He swam to the edge and stepped out, taking off his jacket and Kevlar vest. All he had on now was his white t-shirt and Red Eye uniform dark blue pants, shoes, and knuckle gloves. He was smiling, the first true smile in a long time, as he combed a hand through his soaked, jet black hair and looked up at the others. "It's an easy jump! Trust me!" *Avendia looked uneasily at the lake... there were not very many in the desert, and none that big. However, she had cliff-dived into a smaller lake before, so this shouldn't be much different. She clenched her knife in her teeth, tightened the straps holding her pouches closed, and inhaled deeply through her nose. Then she jumped, the wind rushing past her, sending her nearly white hair streaming behind her like smoke. She made a neat dive into the water, hooking her body into a somersault once submerged and coming back to the surface. Replacing her knife in the sheath on her belt she laughed and swam out of the way of the people above her*

Rei was slightly ashamed at his performance during the battle, but as one with little to no combat training, he felt that he could have been much worse off. Besides, he had learned a new trick. He decided to try it again as they reached the edge of the cliff. He stood, the edge of his feet hanging off the edge and thought. What had he done before? He had been encased... but he was nervous, and it wasn't as solid as usual. Maybe...
He closed his eyes and the ground beneath his feet surged over him, and he jumped off the edge. He flew head first, and at the last moment spun so that he entered the water feet first, and continued through the water with little loss of momentum and landed on the floor. He felt the stone crack slightly from the impact. He opened his eyes and looked around. He could barely see through the dark water, but he could definitely breathe. He was unsure of how much air he had, so he began propelling back up, shedding his encasement as he went. When he hit the surface, he actually launched a few feet into the air before falling back into the water and emerging on the surface, floating on his back. |
