Oh, Dragonland seems to have a new album (well, a few months old).

I have high expectations of this one, especially because of "The Book Of Shadows Part IV", I loved how Starfall ended (with the three first parts of the song).

Downloading the album (Astronomy) and then putting lots of stuff on my MP3 player.

Also, I've been into this band, Communic. It's a pretty good, prog-like band. I'll upload some songs later (and some Dragonland songs, not enough of you have been exposed to this extreme epicness that's close to Rhapsody's yet very different)

(I think I might've made up too many words)

Oh, and I'm currently downloading some Meshuggah, heard some many things about this band.

I don't know, from what I've heard off their myspace from the new album, it doesn't sound as good. There's something about it that sounds weird.

But yeah, Dragonland is awesome. I'd say they're pretty similar to Sonata Arctica, just more perfected with the sound and better. They're definitely a good example of pure Power.

Although I uploaded stuff for a few people, I'm going to go ahead and post these big downloads:

Vicious Rumors - Digital Dictator
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=77C1V05Q
- AMAZING album. Totally off the hook late 80's speed metal. This is 110% the kind of metal I really drool over. Fast, epic but not over the top, soaring vocals, not an overdose of sing along chorus's, insane solo's, 80's raw edge, etc.

And this has a ton of stuff in it:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y2D9P1AU
1. U.D.O - Timebomb (1990). I think you'll really dig them. Vocals might take some getting used to, but I actually like the vocals (kind of different and refreshing). I was going to upload Faceless World originally but I've kind of grown to this album a little more, and its a little heavier. But yeah if you like this, definitely look into Accept.
2. Jag Panzer - Ample of Destruction (1984). Probably one of the fastest and heavier albums I've heard in that time. The vocalist is really insane in this, although his singing is kind of unique and weird at times, he has a huge range. Took a few listens for me to really like this, but now I love it to death.
3. Scanner - Hypertrace (1988). Insanely fun stuff here. This is my kind of music, upbeat, fast, groovy. Lots of people say they're the Gamma Ray / Iron Savior before them, and I could definitely agree. Their other albums are probably just as good (I don't like Scantropolis though, since it has a female vocalist. It just doesn't feel right).

Yes, it's very different. More symphonic and definitly sounds alot like some kind of classical arrangement at some points.

Oh, and about Heaten, it's pretty good =D

Hehe, yeah. I'd imagine you'd also dig Scanner and Vicious Rumors? Also, you'd probably like Overkill, since you're into thrash. One thing I really like about them is that they don't have really raspy vocals like some bands at times (Metallica and Megadeth come to mind), the vocals are a little more clear and stuff. At least on their first album, Feel the Fire.
Rotten to the Core
(alright maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but hey they're awesome!)

Clock, you'd probably like Jag Panzer.

But yeah, Dragonland's instrumental parts are just mindblowing when you're really into it. And the solo's sound like melodies straight out of a Megaman game or whatnot (I know I always say this, but yeah they've got it perfect).

Found yet another incredibly awesome band from the 80's. Crimson Glory!!!

Crimson Glory - Dragon Glory
Crimson Glory - Valhalla

Probably one of the greatest "wailing" vocalist I've ever heard, up there with Geoff Tate. Not to mention they sound a "bit" like Queensryche, just far superior in every single way. Very unique and diverse for 80's stuff too.

But yeah, the vocalist is fucking insane (2:05 of Dragon Lady, blows your face off. That's probably the clearest low to high I've ever heard).

80's seriously has the best metal.

You were right Hobo, Metal Church is AMAZING.

The first few songs on "Metal Church" are decieving. I didn't really like them. They came off sounding like a really dark band there, and those songs were just "bleh". But after that, wow. These guys remind me of Running Wild quite a bit too. And the vocals sound quite a bit like Tad Marose (great band).

Second half of "Metal Church" is amazing, "The Dark" and "Blessing in Disguise" are pretty incredible too. Anthem to the Estranged is a great song! I'll probably buy these albums.

Quad post for the win.

16 Days later...Nagis comes in and shreds this thread.

*Shredbump

This thread needs more "Epic" and "Metal" for everyone's tastes...Luckily I have just that. Prepare for your eardrums to curl up, because this music is known for charming dragons, causing bar fights, and [insert awesome quote from 'Dragonslayer' here].

Here we go, too bad I have Dial up...I would host a couple of songs. AHEM!

First of all, get your hands on this albulm when you see this at your local music store. Iced Earth's classic albulm "Horror Show" displays all of the classic horror villians based on their songs. Dracula, Damien, Jack, Frankenstien (sp?), and my personal favorite: Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde

All of Iced Earth's stuff is wonderful. Im working on getting their "Dark Tales" albulm, which is based around Spawn.

Im here to bring the land of FUKKOR in your hearts. Kiaus is electronic Power metal. Most songs are more Heavier (I.e- Screaming, Drums, and crazy guitar solos). But 80% of their songs are freaking unreal. Reminds me of 80's metal mixed with Pitshifter.

You think the albulm looks cool? Wait till you hear their music. Melodic Power metal...sounds awesome in my opinion. More awesome with their Live DVD's that I checked out at Virgin in Downtown Disney. (I think Xeo said something about them previously somewhere in this thread...Dunno if its good or not.)

Persuader rocks out. I believe they are an early 90's band. Nonetheless, Its headbangable, Myspace has a couple of their songs listed. (Hell, off of these artists have their own Myspace, check them out.)

Ill post more, but lets see what Xeo has to say...Probially "O__O"

My thoughts I guess.

- Iced Earth: I honestly still don't really like them. I think its the vocals that make me look away, even though I enjoy Grave Digger (very similar vocals, rough and stuff. I just like their Power Metal-ish sound more I guess). But yeah, they're pretty popular. Just not for me I guess.

- Kiaus sounds pretty cool, I'll have to look into them.

- Hammerfall is okay, but I haven't really enjoyed their albums since their first two. They seemed to mellow out a bit, but I hear their newest album Threshold is back to their speed and heavier sound.

- Persuader is pretty awesome, I believe they have the same vocalist as Savage Circus. I love their style, kind of more traditional speed like. I've only heard The Hunter album (rerelease though), but I can say I've really enjoyed it.

Bands I've gotten into recently:

Overlorde Myspace
- Absolutely incredible. Something I think old Helloween fans will really love (maybe its just me, but they really remind me of the Kai-Helloween era, sound wise). Supposedly they formed in the 80's, but only put out an EP. But now they've reformed, and put out "Return of the Snow Giant" in 2004. This stuff completely sounds like the 80's, and is absolutely amazing if you ask me! Great band. The vocalist is insane. Low and behold, they're also American.

- Another great newer US Power Metal band bringing back the 80's (I've honestly found a lot of good US bands lately). Myspace here. Probably more melodic than Overlorde, and they've got all the awesome 80's elements here too. Great band.

And I uploaded a few songs for you folks:
- Agent Steel "Unstoppable Force". This album just blows me away, released in 1987. Probably one of the greatest speed metal albums I've ever heard. This album tears apart Judas Priest's Painkiller, and whatnot. And the vocalist ... I absolutely love the vocals. Some might not though, but I think they're great (he gets pretty high). Guitars are razor sharp fast. The downfall of this album like other rare speed metal albums from the 80's is, its short. But oh well, its a blast. Their new stuff is pretty good, but they don't have the same vocalist anymore.
- Unstoppable Force
- Chosen to Stay

Then, one of Scanner's greatest songs. Sounds like they could've wrote this one together with Kai Hansen.
- From the Dust of Ages
EDIT: WHART, somehow From The Dust of Ages didn't upload correctly, that's only like half the song.

I think the guy who introduced me to persuader said something that the vocalist did a couple of side projects with other bands. So I wouldent be surprised if thats the same guy.

I think I said some good reviews about Dark Moor on previous posts in this thread awhile back...Might as well revive that part...I kinda need to rant on that.

Well, I was amazed at some of the songs Dark Moor has to offer. I have the Albulm "Beyond the Sea", which, in my opinion, was not it was cracked up to be. When the female vocalist was still in her prime (Male vocalist now...I dont like him), she ripped up some amazingly great songs.

Right now im downloading some Zandelle

From what I heard. It delivers.

I've known about Dark Moor for awhile (loved their Helloween "Halloween" cover), but yeah the vocalists have always bothered me. I'll really need to check them out though.

Zandelle sounds pretty sweet. But, Yahoo! Music Jukebox has surely been failing me a lot lately.

I think I owe America a big apology. Looking back, I'm sure most of you could recall me saying "only Europe has real metal" but ... phew! I just keep finding so many good US bands lately, and some of them are reviving and putting out some albums better than half the European stuff I've listened to.

I've got my hands on all of Helstar's albums, and I'd have to say they're easily on the top 10 for me now. Their first four albums are completely solid, beating out some albums from giants like Iron Maiden / Helloween in my opinion.
Helstar - Winds of War (A Distant Thunder). Those riffs in that song blow my mind. Hands down, godly band.

Then I follow their awesome vocalist and discover he's been in a lot of newer stuff too, that's very good also. James Rivera myspace. Then he joins another one of my US favorites, Vicious Rumors (I think I mentioned them before and maybe even posted a song?), and its just amazing. They put out a new album last year "Warball" and its kicking. (Though, the song on their myspace from that album has their guitarist on vocals, thus they're not clear at all like Rivera. Listen to the VR: Warball song on James Rivera's myspace for a better example of their stuff. I totally love it).

Then there's Laaz Rockit. Probably one of the best thrash bands I've ever heard, next to Heathen. They're just crazy.
Euroshima (Know Your Enemy.

I'm sorry buddy US, you rock.

Totally bless this website.

Been posted before, but man, I owe it too much.

Endless Lament; a local band from NJ. I'm actually really good friends with the lead singer (the tall blonde kid); I see him every day at college and we talk about music and art and shit. We hang out sometimes.

I uploaded some Laaz Rockit songs a few days ago. Clockworkz, you'd probably even like them, so download this!

Thrash, but extremely aggressive, its almost scary (don't imagine a Metallica/Megadeth sound here at all). I'm not huge on Thrash, but I really like these guys. Just remember, very in your face.

Linky

Two songs from their album Nothing$ $acred.

Exodus's debut album "Bonded by Blood" is a lot like this stuff too. (Probably one of the greatest Thrash albums too).

Also, Titan Force - Chase your dreams.

As in my bio, My reviews. (Guess that's what I've been doing a lot lately).

So, feedback, tell how much my reviews suck or are awesome if you want. And keep a look at the bands folks, I'm awesome with tastes!

Alright, I'm not really bragging or anything, but seriously, the Metal just doesn't stop coming, if you like the stuff I've posted and talked about in this thread, keep an eye at what I review, and what I own, my wanted list, etc.

Recent band I'm loving, Artillery. Fusking awesome thrash, very much like Heathen. This album "By Inheritance" just blows me away. Nagis, Slaya, Hobo, basically all of you guys would probably dig them. They're cleaner / melodic thrash, so not too messy or completely ripping your face apart (Laaz Rockit lawls). They're honestly kind of like Grave Digger, just thrashier, probably more technical too, but there's definitely similarities with the vocals.
Artillery - Bomb Food
Artillery - Don't Believe (accoustic in here blends in PERFECTLY! Epic).

Somebody talk.

Seriously, Metallica, Megadeth? Poooooooooopy!

DS is definitely going to kill me now.
