Yeah, not too long I saw this board crossover to the 80,000-post mark. Wow, that's some heavy posting. And to continue consistently posting like that is all pretty amazing. I see the board just turn over 5 million views as well. With the exemption of Leon and I, everyone in this thread has over 1K posts. Those post counts look like HP counters on Final Fantasy or something.

Wow, can't believe I missed this thread since your birthday came up on NFF. Anyway, happy birthday to you Kat! I hope you had fun during your trip to New York (sounds like you did). Now you get to enjoy your last year as a teenager.

I'm pretty sure that the KH2 Final Mix is a Japanese only release, just like the first one. The subtitles are in Japanese, while the original English actors are included. KH2 Final Mix has long been released in Japan -- I have not heard, read or seen anything on any Japanese website to suggest that this is coming to the US. I, however, will probably be purchasing this eventually. But Shuyin, you make an excellent point.

This should be a kick oshiri game. I was looking at the list of composers that will be contributing to the soundtrack and I was pleased to see one particular name -- Motoi Sakuraba. To me, he is one of the greatest game composers out there. It's also nice to see that he will be one of the lead supervisors on this project. Noriyuki Iwadare who did the Grandia series is another another suprise to see on that list. I can't wait for this to come out.

Wow, another person on the board that knows some Japanese. Welcome to Xeogaming. I, myself, have been studying the language for about 4 years now -- it is a lot of fun to speak and read. insectduel, you know some Japanese too? Wow, there's more people that know some Japanese than I thought. Anyway, have fun on the board here.

Xeo (or anyone else learning Japanese), if you have any questions on what's going on, please feel free to ask. I would be glad to help you. I live, breath, drink, eat, and sleep Japanese, so feel free -- anytime.

The only ones I have played are Dr. Robotnik's and Kirby's Avalanche.
I went ahead and translated the dialogue in the Sega Saturn video for you Nagis. First screen: Easy, Normal, Hard (3 stages in practice mode) (referring to highlighed "Easy") (Next screen) (Top Left Corner) Dragon's Day Off (Bottom Right Corner) Easy Stage 1 -- Skelton T Conversation: Yuck, hot tea in the hot sun! Having my throat hot like this is inexcusable! Stifling! Hey, what did you just do! What, you have a complaint? Then let's battle puyo-puyo! (After battle) Nice, nice. You will definitely not win against me (playing) like that! Easy Stage 2 -- Happy Are you alright? Come on, pull yourself together! * Oh, you want some water? Here, go ahead and take some. ** Oh, are you singing for me as a thank-you? Oh, I'm so entranced! *** The thanks is good, but please stop! I'm going to die! (The next line intentionally omitted.) (Defeat screen) Oh, how unfortunate. The god of chains is my fan! Easy Stage 3 -- Choppun Wow, I finally reached the top of this hill. What are you doing? Perhaps, you are that "hill surfer" person? What, what's that sound? Did you see that? My element **** technique! I'll burn beautifully! * shikkari shite is a common phrase that is used after saying "Daijoubu?" (Are you alright?) It literally means "to gather oneself". ** Douzo is a word meaning "go ahead." *** "onchi" was hard to translate. As you can see, the character is terribly perplexed by the song the angel is singing -- which is essentially what the word means. **** The four characters for "electricity, light, stone, and fire" are shown there. I just took a liberty and translated that as elemental. (Last edited by VGFreak877 on 07-03-07 04:33 PM) |

You mean "Have you actually ever enjoyed (going to) school?"
Yes, I have -- senior year of high school. If it wasn't for one particular class, I would have made As and Bs all throughout that year, but anyway, that was 12 years ago. Have you ever spent all day at an arcade? |

I'm just trying to win so I break up 80% of the posts that are being done by two people in this thread, lol. You two want to be alone?

Recently I purchased more Japanese learning software from PlayAsia:
(1) Simple DS Volume 10 Doko Demo Kanji Quiz (2) Tadashii Kanji Kaki to Rikun This one is a lot of fun -- you get to practice writing all 1,006 Elementary level kanji. Writing the kana is also included. You also can practice kanji with drills and a couple of games. I recommend it for anyone learning the first 1006 kanji. Aw, if the board restarts, then we won't see it reach 100K posts -- it's only about 13K away. This board could probably do it in about 6 months maybe. But I'm almost up to 10% of what you have DarkSlaya -- congrats man.

I saw this come up a couple of days ago, and can't believe it has been that long already. Only 13K posts to go before hitting 100K posts and another 100K+ views before hitting 6 million -- keep up the good work people.

I have seen it go below 10 before, but it didn't last long though -- somebody posted something after I noticed that, lol. But isn't this the final weekend before school starts again, or has it already started?

Strangely, I don't feel all that different. Thanks guys for the thread, I appreciate it. My grandmother has been giving me stuff all week and she gave me another card with money in it this morning. Knowing me, I'll probably spend that money really quick instead of saving it.
As far as age, I think Googie is 33 or 34 -- he sometimes posts on here. I knew I wasn't the oldest though. Katana, nah, I wouldn't throw anything at you, you're too cool. Rogue, I love the thread title. NHK, arigatou gozaimasu. San-juu sai ni natte, mou sukoshi otonappoku ni natta ki ga shimasu yo ne. Again, thanks everyone. |

My mother was joking with me this morning saying "How does it feel to turn 40, hmm?" You guys thought I was younger hmm? lol
Anyway, Cyro: No I haven't been to Japan yet this year, I'm going in exactly 54 days from now -- October 22 to November 3. I'll be hitting quite a few areas this time around. Two good things are going to happen that didn't happen on last year's trip -- more friends and my Japanese is a little better. |

Nice, I knew it wouldn't last long. Including this post, there have been 77 posts done over the last 24 hours. There was a spike in activity last night -- I think I saw 8 people on at once. Also, I wonder who got the 6 millionth view . . .

Yeah, it logs them, but only around a certain area, although I think it might be different between 1.92 and 1.A2. On 1.A2 it only logs them between 999,000 and 1,001,000 (or however you set them). It's interesting that this board logs every last view. Anyway, I think the closest I got was around the 5,998,000 area.

Ladybugs try to get in the house every year. Once in a while I have to clean the window from dead ladybugs -- they get inside there, but they don't last long. But what's annoying now are those flies -- they're trying to get in now since the seasons are changing.

Introduction: I realize that making this thread is unorthodox. However, based on recent events, I feel I must create this thread. As an affiliate of this board, this is the only board where I would create such a thread. But -- in so doing, some people may think this is an advertising attempt. This is not the case. As you can see where the thread is located, I am genuinely concerned with the performance of my board. If it is absolutely necessary to have this thread closed . . . then, I will completely understand. But I am asking this thread to stay as a favor and genuine concern.
History: I created my board on March 11th, 2004. Almost right away, I started receiving members. I created NFF so that people can have a peaceful board to post on and have fun. Within nine months, NFF accumulated more than 12,000 posts and over 100 members. When the public release of AB1.A2 was released, I took the opportunity to upgrade my board since I believed the board would perform better. Little did I know that doing that will start a slow degradation of board activity. During the entire 3 years, 7 months that NFF has been opened, I have never advertised (with the exception of a thread on Elric's board), or spammed needlessly on ANY board. I believe the total amount of people I have PM'd on any board is less than 10, so about 90% of the user base on NFF have been word-of-mouth from other people that have already registered on the board. Records: NFF has had its share of records over the last 3 ½+ years in its existence. Last year, NFF had a massive posting spree day and accumulated 650+ posts in a 24-hour period. And as of yet, NFF has still has to pass the record of 10 users online at once. I am hoping to do that soon. I’m all for making new records. Activity: Over the past 2 years, NFF has suffered a steady degradation in activity, and over the past 3 months, activity has been less than 50 posts the entire month. Zeros are now common and sometimes no one visits in a 24-hour period. NFF has accumulated more than 27,000 posts, but taken almost 3 years to accumulate 15,000 of those posts. I'm hoping that I can bring NFF back from the dead and get more activity. Note: I realize that getting the activity back to the way it was back in 2004 is too much to ask for, but getting 15 to 20 average per day should be an easily attainable goal. Conclusion: As an owner of NFF and an affiliate of this board, I’m hoping to bring back activity to the board, even if only a little -- and also to fully understand what went wrong that NFF has hit just about rock bottom. Some of you were active on there, but then left for whatever reason. You were a great addition to the board, and I was sad to see you go. Again, I apologize if creating this thread upsets or makes anyone uncomfortable. Thanks for reading. (Last edited by VGFreak877 on 10-04-07 10:21 PM) |

Recently, a Japanese actress names Erika Sawajiri appeared on stage to promote her new movie "Closed Note." It didn't go too well. The video appeared all over the place on the Japanese YouTube and has appeared on numerous Japanese news stations. Here's a clip:
As you can see, she was not happy at all. If you want a translation to parts of this, please let me know. Also, she appeared on another show to do an interview just yesterday. Here's a clip of that: At the end of the interview, the interviewer asked Erika what the first thing she wanted to say to her fans and people involved. Also, on her website she apologizes for the whole thing. Even for Japanese entertainment, this is quite interesting. |
