| I've been going for at least the last 5 years and expect to be going this year as well, but as a fan and not an exhibitor or press.
Here's the official site: http://anime-expo.org/ I think it's the stupidest planning for a con, this year, though--Saturday through Tuesday. Anime Expo usually runs Thursday through Sunday, a much wiser con schedule, but they traditionally run the weekend of the 4th of July. I don't know why they're sticking to this, though since the guy who made that tradition had a falling out with his friend who's continuing the convention these days and that first guy went on to create PMX, now in its third year. Con politics aside, I hope AX cleans up its act with their poor registration-handling. It's a really good cosplay con. You get the best, the worst and the Man-Faye (who will probably be rallying in front of the convention center again this year). Lots to do, 24-hour anime screening rooms, raves, nice exhibit hall, the works. You get all types there. |

What's with Sam Raimi and picking these scrawny-looking guys? I guess I shouldn't be so pessimistic, I mean, look at Tobey Maguire. No one thought he'd work for Spidey at first. Harry should be Hobgoblin, since that's who the character becomes, but he does don the Green Goblin outfit before becoming Hobgoblin. For a time, I was hearing rumors that the Rhino was going to be in it, but looks like those rumors were wrong. |

Since most personal crap gets shepherded here anyway, I'm posting this here. It's a general announcement to all users since my activity will be shooting all over the place, until the end of July, really soon.

I know. I can feel your little hearts breaking as I say this (mostly by way of shouting, "YAY! The bitch is gone!"  ), I'll be around and still active, just not active enough to answer your PMs right after you leave them, is all.
I probably won't be on IM as much, either, so if you were looking forward to that heart-to-heart conversation, I might not be around to have it. The reasons are as such:
If there is anything else that I've forgotten, as I'm sure I've forgotten something since I don't have my calendar with me and I havn't updated my online calendar for the past week, I'll note it in another post. I forgot to add the most important reason why I might be in and out as well... I'll be spending 2 days a week living at my grandmother's over the summer. She doesn't have Internet access or many other things.

I'm actually amazed that AX finally got an ad agency who put out those bus ads BEFORE AX, rather than after like in past years. |
Yeah, if you registered before Wednesday, you're supposed to have your badge mailed to you. They mail you a badge, a bar code, and you have to get some special badge holder to "complete the puzzle" in order to get in this year. I'm completely sick of the reg lines of AX. I'm sick of AX's old system of registration all together. They hired out last year and got people who didn't know jack about what they were doing. My friend, Patrick, didn't pre-reg and did on-site. After getting help to type out a few things, they finally processed his application and printed out his badge to say "Patricia." 
I'll probably be at pre-reg, Friday, to get the badge holder and not have to worry about it on the first day. Still... what a freakin' stupid con schedule. Saturday to Tuesday. Good grief. We'll see what's going on. Looks like CLAMP is the major guest of honor. Yay, 24-hour video rooms.

Nah, she lost count of how many cats she has and people keep leaving more and more kittens on her doorstep and since she can't afford to have them fixed, they just keep spawning more. Having two is enough of a handful at times.

She's also got a grandchild on the way at the end of next month. Makes me wonder if Tim'll work AX like he usually does. According to her, Miko's twin sister keeps having more kittens. Every now and then I'll hear what that one does and I have to wonder if that one is Miko's evil twin. Anyway, tomorrow is Lola's surprise party, (For anyone reading this, "Lola" is the Filipino expression for "grandmother") and then Sunday is father's day. I don't know what's going on that day, but I'm sure I'll be stuck around the house or worse yet, at my dad's sister's house.  Shoot me if such is the case.

I think I got straight Bs and an A in photojournalism, though my teacher didn't fill out the grades for our class. I wasn't really trying the semester. I filled out the application for my certificate and they said I just needed mass communications and photo-j to get it, which I was already taking both.

I didn't think I was passing mass comm, but apparently I pulled through and got a B.
My overall grades this semester: Mass comm: B Photojournalism: A Political Science: B Desktop publishing: B Philiosophy: B (I was getting an A, but I didn't bother doing the final project. There were several reasons behind this.) I also religiously went to the magazine class despite not being registered. I was the editor-in-chief.
