As most of you know, I have very deep connections with Japan. I lived there, speak the language and have many friends and what feels like family there, most of whom I don't have contact information for. I actually had friends from Japan staying with me at my house when the tsunami and earthquake hit. Both of their parents had to walk 5-8 hours at midnight in order to get home, many of their friends they still haven't heard from.

Getting off the subject of the depression, here is a couple links that give you a bit of an idea of the grief, hope and love that's going on in Japan. They are all not very long/big, please take a bit of time.

Just a bit of insight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdMzjq7J_8w

Why I love Japan: http://www.facebook.com/notes/jun-shiomitsu/japan-quake-as-seen-from-twitter-translated-by-me-so-quality-questionable/10150121176733830

I've always been really thankful that my parents didn't start our big trips until I was at least 8. But that's probably due to the fact my parents traveled outside of the country with me, not inside. I've been to 20 countries and 3 states. The states are Nevada, Arizona and Colorado, hahaha.

Ghost Hounds Opening was always a favorite of mine:

Also Excel Saga:

But that's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there is plenty more that I adore that I'm just forgetting.

It needs a proper anime that follows the manga.

Seriously.

I was really into it for a while, but I'm REALLY not into it recently. I feel like it either should be an action manga with less dialog, or more dialog, good characters and story and less action.

Posted on 03-26-11 03:13 AM, in Alive (manga) Link
I just finished a manga called Alive: The Final Evolution. Needless to say, I really enjoyed it. It poses a very interesting plot, good characters and has enough going on that it's exciting, but not too confusing. It's a shonen, but it's got a good amount of gore and a dark story line. I really recommend it.

Basic plot:
Taisuke Kanou is your average 16-year-old student. He has two close friends, Hirose and Megumi. Hirose has trouble with bullies, but Taisuke is always there to defend him, even though he just winds up getting beaten instead of Hirose. During class one day, Taisuke is hit by something unworldly and for that split second, he sees a vision of the universe. As he's walking home from school, he sees a girl fall and die in front of him, but his first thought is jealousy. He later finds out that the strange sensation that hit him is spreading throughout Japan. Those who are struck by it either commit suicide or "evolve," but the comrades have evolve usually have dark intentions for the rest of the world.

Great powers, makes you think, creepy at times, comedy, characters, romance (a bit, I guess) = I like.

Also, the author finished this manga literally at his death bed. It really puts a depth to it.

Nope. At least I don't think so. I have my trusty original, regular DS and I may get the 3DS if a LOT of games I'm really interested in show up. I'm not interested in spending anymore money on video games anymore, -shrugs-.

Thanks guys! Though my otaku-dome has died down significantly (haven't watched anything since March), this is still the best board to post in. I mean, would you call me "general"? Nuh-uh.

And yup! Only 18. I started posting here when I was 13!

It always feels strange to send out a birthday message into the forum, only to hope that it reaches it's destination. This would not be a problem if you came back and became active again (says the person who posts once a month )

Happy birthday spyware!

I know absolutely nothing about the bible, therefore I can't testify what is right or wrong, but can only ask a simple question. What, in your opinion, does the bible (Book of Mormon...etc) classify as SIN? What is considered sinning in your opinion?

I was gonna say.. None of this is in Korean.

J-pop boy bands often are much better and have more talent. One of the many ways Japan succeeds. You only posted J-pop that made the guys look pretty girly. Sometimes they go for a less cute approach, and it turns out really "cool." And less gay looking. I enjoy both on occasion.

Apparently the controller is VERY comfortable. Soo, I have no idea what to think anymore.

I don't really play video games anymore, but I hope these new series are good so I can WATCH people play awesome games.

When I had my iTouch I'd listen to it off of that. I got all my music from friends computers or what I downloaded years ago. But now that it's gone, I usually stick to my usual methods.

I listen to the radio in the car, and on the computer I listen to "grooveshark" with is like pandora, except you decide all of the exact songs you want to listen to. It works perfectly for me. And it's legal.

It's gotten better, that's for sure. Bleach uses pretty much only cliches, but they arrange them in a way that it'll sometime surprise you. I just don't see what they could possibly have next to excite me.

*points at my previous post*

At the website I mentioned you can download single songs by searching the anime series, artist or song title. There's over 6000 songs.

With torrents you'd have to download a batch or go through and download each separately, right? I prefer direct downloads.
