| I haven't really been playing anything other than Backgammon lately, but I've been watching A LOT of videos of people streaming playing games. The latest would, of course, be "Resident Evil: Village." Funny, how ALL the streamers are super horny for Lady Dimitrescu. ;P
Also been watching Markiplier and Jacksepticeye play "Little Nightmares" and "Little Nightmares II," but this ALLLLLL started with watching Markiplier play all the "Five Nights at Freddie's" games and scream his head off. Speaking of which, I had my first day off today where I didn't have to go to either job, for the first time in over a month. What's a "weekend"? I don't know her. *Insert awkward, smiling sweat drop emoji* Thank god for therapy, though. I'm at the stage where seeing people without masks right next to me is becoming a constant occurrence, but yeah, I've been sporting an N95 most of the time. Still, I couldn't have done this even six months ago.  |

I saw the latest things Disney and Pixar dropped, "Luca" and "Raya and the Last Dragon" on their streaming app. Yeah, they were OK. Not my favorites, though. |

| So my family and I have been vaccinated, but I still get anxious.
When I had a video appointment with a doctor about my wrist, the nurse who was asking me questions went over the usual COVID symptom checklist and I said I was feeling fine and that I was vaccinated (the first time I'd started to show confidence about it, by the way) and she just slaps me down. "Well you can STILL get it even if you're vaccinated, so you BETTER WATCH IT!" Like, GEEEZ, lady. You're preaching to the choir here. 
A friend came out on her FB to say she and her kids all have it. Friends were going, "Oh no, were any of you vaccinated?!?!" and she didn't answer ANY of those comments, but thanked all of the "Get well soon!!" ones. Hmm. I actually feel extremely disappointed in her. She's massively compromised as is one of her kids, whom we all had had to pitch in for to get her some medical care because she would just stop breathing while she slept and has been in and out of the hospital the ENTIRETY of her short life. I mean kids can't get vaccinated yet, but what's my friend's excuse for her and her husband? 
Meanwhile, I'm back to work at both jobs and still put on an N95 (despite being vaccinated) because I have trust issues with all these people running around maskless. ;P |

| I actually loved reading the Prose Edda. I got deeply into Icelandic sagas for a while there. There was a book I'd read beforehand that explained a lot of the jargon. Like Snorri wouldn't just say, "The woman cried." It would be like, "The necklace wearer made gold like Freyja."
Been trying my hand at reading fiction lately, and to add to the challenge, it's fantasy. XD We shall see how long I last. |

| I made the mistake of getting my Moderna booster and flu shot together. Have been suffering through a flu-like haze for the past couple days. Chills, aches, sweats, migraine, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, just general inability to get comfortable and sleep along the injection arm being entirely sore and the lymph node in my arm pit also overwhelmingly painful.

| I hurt my knee at work. Annoyingly on the FIRST DAY I was back from my personal leave of absence for my dad's passing. Now I'm on restrictions and having to go through shit with calling out and hoping to not trigger disciplinary action for the number of points I'm racking up. This is such bullshit.
My knee is not great, but I'm able to walk. It, however, buckles when walking up or down stairs and has irritatingly random leg cramps that make it impossible to stand sometimes. I've been crying about Dad every now and then. Spent the weekend with family for Thanksgiving. That was good. A year ago, I was going through therapy and not able to do what I've been able to this past year. I've been back to work, but I've also had to overcome grief and dealing with bureaucratic nonsense without my Dad in my corner any more. This new variant does have me nervous, but more about my upcoming plans being ruined AGAIN. I'm tired. |

These days I've been listening to a lot of historical podcasts. The latest have been Vulgar History, Lore, and Noble Blood. Been watching A LOT of YouTube streamers, namely Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, among others. I'm mostly watching the play horror games since I don't really have time to game myself. More fun watching them comment on things and get the shit scared out of them. Not really up on new new movies or shows. Whatever the latest thing is, I'll watch it just to get the meme references as they inevitably pour out. "Squid Game" was probably the most recent. *Shrug* Question: What took up most of your time in 2020? |

| I read the Holly Black "Folk of the Air" trilogy. It's more YA than high fantasy. It was OK.
I'm still on my non-fiction train. Even though I quit one of my jobs, I still haven't really been reading like I used to. Ashamed to say it, but I've been reading more fan fiction again. |

| Well, I ended up quitting the "fun" job because of all the bullshit regarding worker's comp. They were unwilling to remove my points I'd accrued due to the injury I sustained DOING A JOB FOR THEM, and THEN acted upset that I was going to be asking for time off for a trip with my widowed mother that my dad WOULD have gone with her on.
Manager (paraphrased, but almost verbatim what they said in different order): "When was it again? May? THAT'S GRAD NIGHT TIME! We're going to be so busy!! But yeah, you've got 30 points right now and those aren't going to fall off until December, so you better watch it. Tee-Hehehe." Uh-huh. Waaaay to make this decision to leave SO MUCH more painless. Making me choose between spending time with my mom or working myself into the ground without pause? Wooooo! So yeah, I'm back to one job. And my boss is fucking another co-worker, but at least this isn't like the last time. Good god that was rough. |

| I don't know how "unique" ... uh... the BEST homemade chicken noodle soup was usually the juices that flowed out of my brined turkey back in 2020 when I cooked my first Thanksgiving. Mom took the leftover and boiled them and threw in a few boxes of Annie's mac & cheese (minus the cheese powder, so JUST the noodles.) I'd covered that turkey in herbed butter and filled it with onions and lemons and kosher salt. So TECHNICALLY turkey noodle soup, but it was SOOOO DAMN GOOOOOOOD.

| Eh, yeah, I guess I've got a few fuck yous to dole out to my neighbors as well.
Fuck you, cunt next door. I've probably written about her somewhere in the past, but shit, this lady is a piece of work. First of all, we SHOULD be best friends. She's a truck-driving lesbian theater professor, for fuck's sake. But she's HORRIBLE. A little context. The neighbors behind us used to have dogs that barked all night sometimes. This shitty neighbor called the police on them and they HAD to get rid of their dogs. These people thought WE'D called on them and hated us for it. Anyway, this woman is such a busy-body. She's telling on EVERYONE for one thing or another, is anti-vaxx and anti-mask, and has pretty much taken over the planters up against our house. She's also been using OUR WATER to water HER YARD. We're in a drought and she keeps using the hose on the side of our house to drown all of her vegetation. We've been looking into a lock for that spigot. |

Since there's been only so much content at a time, we've been watching A LOT of YouTube and Twitch streamers. I'm STILL watching old videos of them playing "Among Us." Yes, I'm a simp. 
Finally went through "Book of Boba Fett." I really disliked the first few episodes, but it got better once they stopped focusing on Boba and just concentrated on Mando and Amy Sedaris' character. |

| Well, it's been a while since I last checked in. In October, my dad died. I took some time off. Fucked up my knee at work when I tried to return and that knocked me out for a bit. When I came back from THAT, I ended up just putting in my notice because it was all pointless to try to salvage it when I've got other fish to fry.
Still employed, though. Just the one job. Brandon got a vasectomy on Wednesday. Been taking care of him while he laid in bed icing his junk. :lol: It's been hot as fuck lately. Record-breaking heat. Le sigh. |

I mean, we all miss my dad. Mom is going through a second renaissance. We took her to New Orleans for my birthday and she danced down Bourbon Street in a parade for Betty White.

| Just got back from the pilgrimage to Eastern Europe with my mom, Brandon, and my aunt. It was a GREAT trip, got to see and experience new places, but it was also fucking horrendous because of my aunt.
So, she lives up north by Sacramento, and we hadn't seen her in a while. She had actually invited herself on this trip and Mom was happy to have her. This was meant to be a support network thing for my Mom who's still grieving my Dad. Turns out Aunt may have dementia and she was a fucking nightmare the whole trip to my mom, then had several "medical emergencies" on the plane-ride home for attention. The cherry on top was when we got back to the states and she attempted to wander off and then called security on me at LAX baggage claim saying I was some strange woman who was harassing her. . . . *Sigh* Anyway, got to wander around Krakow, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest before we got to the more heavily religious stuff in Bosnia. Still ran away to go hang at waterfalls while everyone prayed.
Just wish Mom had gotten to have more fun. |

| Fuck you, co-workers at the center, who are watching me do all the talking with higher ups regarding the possibility that we might be getting fucked over with our raises and then calling me an idiot who's overreacting while I'm writing to our boss' boss. I should be happy, they say, and shut up.
Context: Boss said everyone will be making X. I asked about seniority pay. He said everyone's going to be paid the same. So the woman who started a month ago would be getting a $3 raise and I'd be getting $1.25/hour more. Annoyingly, the people who are bitching about me talking to our regional director, are the ones who stand to benefit and will DEFINITELY not turn down that money, if/when it comes our way. I mean, these bitches were shitting on the $1 raise we got in January saying it was pathetic and they should give us more. I just don't get it. Of all the reasons to be sniping behind my back, it's over being mad about unfair pay? If ONLY it could be that those who didn't fight for it wouldn't get the raise too.  |

| Well, just got back (a week ago, really) from a trip to Alaska. We ended up getting COVID during the trip, so we were quarantining. Then had to euthanize our cat. It's all been rough lately. Our cat was pretty much my mom's companion since Dad's death.
Mom's been challenging to spend time around these days. I'm worried she's going the same as her sister much faster than we can prepare for. |
