| I've been suffering from a swollen throat off and on for weeks. Went to the doctor right away and all they could do was tell me it wasn't strep and to just gargle salt water. It subsided, but it's back again.
I've also developed this really bad rash in my upper thighs that I'm not sure is an allergy to our soap or my sweat or what. Hurts like a motherfucker just to try to walk or sit or lay down sideways and move my legs. Uuuuugh... |

| It ended up being hand-foot-and-mouth. I've been sick every frigging week of this month and haven't had a full week of work at all in August.
I had that swollen throat and uvula, then the disease for a week (had to give away all of my shifts at my second job) and then I ended up with a cold from working a convention for one of my jobs all of last weekend. 
To answer your question, Elara, as far as I know I've never been tested for allergies. Going to the dermatologist this coming week, though, for a follow-up on my disease. |

| Thank you, SFPD and the quick-thinking witness who called them for us. Our rental car got broken into in San Francisco while we were getting late lunch before heading out of town. Our suitcase, camera, and a tote bag were stolen and most of our stuff was recovered almost immediately. AMAZING WORK. | |||

| So last month was pretty shitty (particularly health-wise,) but the last couple weeks have really made up for it.
Happy I got to take my parents to see John Williams conduct at the Hollywood Bowl. Happy we were able to do a day-trip to Solvang on Labor Day. Happy Bran and I saw Kyle Kinane do new stand-up a couple days later. Happy we got to see more Shakespeare in the park before the season was totally over. Happy we got to do a short trip to the Bay Area to see Metallica shoot "S&M2" with the San Francisco Symphony. Happy that the SFPD were able to get our stuff back when our car was broken into. So very grateful to the man who called them in time. Happy we saw whales feeding off the coast, so near the cliffs while on the drive up. Happy we got to visit a bunch of different places and eat lots of amazing food. |

I'd spent a lot of last month incredibly ill and at one point had hit a really dark place. Ah, depression. Anyway, am back on the horse, in a manner of speaking. Took a few days in San Francisco to see Metallica and run around town. Got our rental car broken into and stuff stolen, but the most valuable things were quickly recovered. I finally passed my probation at my second job, but we're going through a slow season, so I'm only getting a couple shifts a week lately. I'm actually cool with that since it finally gives me some mental wiggle room. |

Trudging through the latest season of "Harlots," but my favorite character got killed off. 
When I was sick we went through an ungodly amount of TV. While I was sick we knocked out: - The rest of the final season of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" - "GLOW" season 3 - All of "Umbrella Academy" that's out (one season) - All of "Shrill" that's out (one season) - All of "The Act" (miniseries) - Re-watched all fours seasons of "BoJack Horseman" - Re-watched A LOT of "Bob's Burgers" - Re-watched A LOT of "King of the Hill" - Re-watched all of "Evangelion" - Started "Babylon 5" - Started "Wolf Hall" - Started going through "Drunk History" - Watched some "Portlandia" - Re-watched all of "Documentary Now" Watched a number of movies: - Captain Marvel - Aquaman - The Favourite - Invasion of the Body Snatchers - The second Fantastic Beasts movie - Bad Times at the El Royale - The Dead Don't Die - Dangerous Liaisons - Stay - Possession - Ophelia The TV was pretty much ALWAYS on. | Been listening to a lot of podcasts lately.
The constant ones that I've been listening to for years: pretty much any of the NPR shows ("This American Life," "Radiolab," "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me," "The Moth," "Ask Me Another," etc) with my favorite being "Snap Judgement." They're doing their Halloween podcasts now, "Spooked." Late last year, I picked up "My Favorite Murder," a comedy podcast that goes over various murders and serial killers. Most recently I finally picked up Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast. He's been doing his for a long time and the experience shows. It's pretty great. I tried to pick up podcasts by comedians I love (since everyone has their own podcast now,) but the fare has not been as stellar. Kyle Kinane's "Boogie Man Podcast" is perhaps the most disappointing, because I adore that guy, have seen him live several times, and I love his comedy. The podcast is relatively shapeless, the other host is simply not good, and you're just listening to them ramble until they figure they're done. |

| Well, I legit thought I'd hit the "Happy Thread" in Last Posts, especially while I was reading the last thing I wrote here. Eh.
Still working two jobs and still pretty tired all the damn time, but yeah, I guess you could say I'm happy. Glad the second job lifted the ban on trading shifts to get days off, at least for now. It's to help people seeking extra hours get them while those of us who don't want to work so much can just give away those hours. This has given me the ability to actually have days where I don't have to go to either job and to actually rest or spend a day out having fun and not worry about getting back in time to get ready for work. Anyway, I can't believe the year's almost over already. It's been quite a ride. I wouldn't have predicted how this new year had gone since the beginning. To 2020, everyone. |

| Went and saw "Terminator: Dark Fate" last weekend. It was OK. I mean, it's still no "Judgement Day," but it had its moments.
Every Terminator from "Salvation" on essentially likes to pretend T3 didn't happen (at least that's what McG said about it when I was at the panel for it at Comic-Con.) "Genisys" essentially re-writes the first Terminator movie and "Dark Fate" takes over immediately after "Judgement Day." I'd pretty much order the franchise: "Judgement Day" (T2) "Terminator" "Dark Fate" "Genisys" "Salvation" "Rise of the Machines" (T3) I wouldn't really rank "Sarah Conner Chronicles" in there since the show was its own thing, but then again that's the way of things from T3 forward. It would probably fall around "Dark Fate" or "Genisys." |
