| There were seriously different people being interviewed on NPR this morning who were saying the looting is justified as a right the people have to vengeance.
Hell, when they were interviewing one of the Korean business owners while she was cleaning her place up, you hear someone (sounded African-American male) shout, "You got anything?" and she tearfully says, "No, nothing!" and he answers back, "That's why they took everything! HAHAHAH!" Yeah, I don't understand how that's supposed to be funny. One of the people saying the looting was justified pointed out another Korean-owned business, saying they deserved it because they wouldn't let him take a new shirt to wear for a job interview without paying on the promise that he'd pay them back some day. | CORRECTION: He wasn't asking for the shirt for a job interview, but just so he could wear it to work, for some reason. Something about not having his work shirt, but being able to pay when he gets paid on Friday.
The whole turning it into black vs. Asian story just brings it all back to the L.A. riots of the early '90s, for me. People always think that was a black vs. white battle, but that's completely negating all the targeting done toward Koreans and other Asians (mostly because they were mistaken for Korean) and their businesses. |

| My mistake, just remembered "Civil War" is supposed to be the third Cap movie, so that wouldn't have been Whedon anyway.
I ended up pirating it, just to see what they did with Wanda and Pietro. I was amused by Marvel just not mentioning much of their history more than a story about them hiding under a bed as kids. I ended up really liking them, despite disliking most of the rest of the Avengers. Anyway, I couldn't shake the whole "Ultron is just Skynet re-skinned" thoughts I had throughout. |

| I'm on a jury right now. Going to miss a week and a half of work for it.
Bran's car got rear-ended while we were on our way home today. I witnessed a molestation on Monday, which I reported to my boss and had to sit for a while after work and off-the-clock filling out paperwork on it. Yeah, I'm pretty done with this week. |

Let's go down the list, starting 30 days ago: - Got into a car wreck, missed two days of work - Have been in terrible pain throughout - Witnessed a molestation at work - Was picked to serve on a jury, missed 4 days of work for it - Got sick for the FOURTH time this year - Brandon's car got rear-ended while we were driving through L.A. after the trial went to recess for the weekend - Got back to work today and had a client go berserk and attack everyone, resulting in my having to write 7 service notes I'm sure there's plenty I'm forgetting, and frankly, there are millions of people who have it worse than I do, but damn it, I think I earned the right to kick and scream for a minute. | Fuck yes, off to see it again tonight. This time in IMAX 3D.
REALLY looking forward to getting a better look at all those glorious details and things I couldn't see so well through a windshield, and far from the screen (the new drive-in has rules against SUVs and trucks being parked in the first five rows. Goddamn bummer). And yeah, I really can't agree more. This is the first time I've seen a film from a returning franchise that was that fucking good. We all know "Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was shit. the "Star Wars" prequels were... well, shit (I'm probably the only person not wetting themselves with glee over the upcoming sequels). And "Terminator: Genysis" is not looking too hot as far as Brandon and I are concerned. This "Mad Max" is just so kick-ass. Great, practical effects. Amazing stunts. Most of it isn't CG, AT ALL. And the fact that the real hero is Furiosa, with Max sort of just being there like a consultant, isn't too shabby either. By the way, have you heard the theory that the Max in this movie is actually the feral kid from "Road Warrior" calling himself Max and emulating Mel Gibson? |

| Telling Brandon about an interaction I had with a client yesterday. The client, Bryan, is one that has eloped (tried to run away from us) in the past, and sometimes with the intent to kill himself by running into traffic after declaring he hates his life. The going story with his home-life is his parents are rich, controlling, and make him do things he doesn't want to do.
Anyway, he's usually not all that talkative and yesterday he was while he was with me. What made me and my coworker/friend laugh so hard about was that Bryan walked up and goes, "I saw a movie this weekend." We asked him what he saw and initially said, "Toy." "Toy?" we asked. "Like the Robin Williams movie?" "No.. uh... Toy Story," he amended. "Oh, yeah, that's cool," we answer, trying to show that we're taking interest in what he's saying. "I fucking HATE THAT MOVIE!!!!" he suddenly declares, quietly on the first two words and then almost a shout on the last three. Mike and I are busting up, but for some reason I laughed so much harder and longer retelling it and the other things he said to Brandon. What do you look forward to these days? |

| OK, Brandon and I saw it in IMAX 3D at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
HOLY. SHIT. "Fury Road" is so perfect. For me, it's up there in visuals with "The Fall." As for "Jurassic World" .... I'll still see it no matter what. Are the raptors fighting on his side? All the shots I've seen, he's riding along with them on the motorcycle. Either way, it's GOT TO BE better than "Lost World" was. I didn't hate III as much as others seem to, but the first is un-fucking-touchable. I was the right age when I saw that, and it'll always be near and dear to my heart. |

I don't really care to argue religion or politics with anyone, especially since they are RARELY going to change their beliefs no matter what evidence I provide. There are much more entertaining and positive things I can focus on than bringing up a sore subject and then fighting about it.
