| I just went to an old friend's 30th birthday a couple nights ago at a bar. The bartender had baked her Rice Krispee treats and served them with lit candles. We started talking about all of our friends who are married now and have kids.
Yep, I've got a couple more weddings to go to before the year's out and songs I liked in the '90s are playing on the Oldies station. When did it come to this? |

| I think the last time I even played with a standard deck in the last few years, more than just shuffling it by myself, was whenever I've had to play King's Cup with university friends at parties. I'm not really a fan of that game and it requires a big group of drunks to be fun.
The last time I even had fun playing with standard cards was back in high school, playing Bullshit. So... I guess that's the answer? I used to play War, Gin, and Go Fish with my parents and grandmother all the time as a kid, but it's not exactly something we've played in recent memory. What's your favorite kind of tea? |

| Me? Unemployed and been out of college for three years now. Can't find a paying journalistic job and everyone just wants you to "work for exposure." I've yet to get a callback for anything I've put in for this year with my last "jobs" having been blogging and podcasting for a friend's site and caretaking for my 90-year-old grandmother.
Heading up to Washington next month for another wedding is the one bright side I've been looking forward to lately. Once that's out of the way, I'll probably run to a temp agency. Sorry life's been slamming you pretty hard these days, Cteno.  |

I've been making pesto spreads to put on sandwiches, wraps, and burgers instead of mayonnaise. Basil, kale (optional), olive oil, garlic, and parmesan in a food processor. Then just keep it in the fridge 'til I want a spread. A spoonful of that with a spoonful or so of fat free sour cream.

| I've been drinking a lot of green tea lately, but I'm really digging the mango black tea I started picking up from Trader Joe's last month. Just got a box of chai and that goes great with vanilla creamer -- like Christmas in a cup. Looking forward to trying Tim Tam slams with it.
My favorite from TJ's thus far has been this one holiday blend they had last winter: Madagascar vanilla and cinnamon. It had a lemur on it. I've been very sparing with it since they discontinued it after Christmas. I'm really hoping they bring it back, but then they still have yet to bring back their Mexican hot chocolate cookies, their three cheese cannelloni (how I TRULY miss those), Red Dragon cheese, or their instant mashed potato cups. At least peppermint Jojos come around every Christmas. As for outside of Trader Joe's, I really love this one place we get high tea's English spiced pudding. Tasty. What's the last thing you had delivered to your house? |

| Been reading "Rogues," a book of stories by famous fantasy and sci-fi writers edited by George R. R. Martin. I'm halfway through and there's only been one story that I've really liked thus far: "A Year and a Day in Old Theradane" by Scott Lynch.
My book group also has me reading "Chinese Cinderella: The True Story of an Unwanted Daughter." I can feel the depression coming on. |

| I know decaffeinated green tea exists (they have it at Trader Joe's), I just don't know where else you can get it or if it's any good. People seem to love Honest Tea. Not sure if they have decaf green tea.
I have a few IKEA things. Brandon's desk came from there for one (the only piece of furniture of his that we've still got from when he lived with his mom), and the wall-mounted racks I have my DVDs on. I tend to avoid anything big from there since I prefer old, unique fixtures with character. I usually just use IKEA things when it's something basic (surge protectors, light bulbs, etc). Used to really love IKEA when I was a kid, but now I'm not really into the pressed wood laminate look. Look out the nearest window to you. What are five things that you see?
